even if you deny the glassdoor reviews, even if you excuse the lack of background checks, even if you think the racism and misogyny is ‘no biggie’ you have to at LEAST recognize glitch is falling into nassssty consumerist shit. like the blind boxes. blind boxes are the DEVIL, because they result in people blowing a shit ton of money and trashing all their duplicates, causing a shit tone of waste. yes, i think they have a right to sell merch, but oh my god they are not doing it ethically at all. not to mention the exorbitant prices for some of the merch. i think one of their ties are $30? somewhere around that price. it’s insane. what is the point. in supporting an indie company. when they do the EXACT shit disney would do.

When BoJack Horseman (2014-2020) said "you can't keep doing shitty things and then feel bad about yourself like that makes it ok. you need to be better" and "all we have are the connections we make" and "I really should've thought about the view from halfway down" and "sometimes you have to take responsibility for your own happiness" and "you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around, you turn yourself around, THAT'S what it's all about" and "things have to get worse before they can get better" and "in real life, the big gesture isn't enough, you need to be consistent" and "if we hadn't met each other until now, we wouldn't be the people we are now" and, my personal favourite, "every day it gets a little easier, but you gotta do it every day, that's the hard part, but it does get easier".

Being a BoJack Horseman fan is so hard because the show explores themes of trauma, addiction, mental illness, the dark side of fame, suicidal ideation, cycles of harm, and redemption in honest and nuanced ways better than much other media I've seen. But if you get really into it and want to talk about that, you have to have serious discussions about characters with names like Mr. Peanutbutter and Cutie Cutie Cupcake

I noticed this thing online where people try to defend media properties by saying “they worked hard on it” It’s just a form of deflection from genuine criticism. Yeah what the crew has gone through hell to make anything is impressive but that doesn’t matter. If it sucks then it sucks. If I go to pizzeria and they gave me a brunt pizza, I didn’t like my pizza being burnt to a crisp and the employee said that the cooks worked hard on it so I should eat it. It doesn’t matter what matters is the pizza tastes like shit. Putting effort in something does not equal a good thing.
