even if you deny the glassdoor reviews, even if you excuse the lack of background checks, even if you think the racism and misogyny is âno biggieâ you have to at LEAST recognize glitch is falling into nassssty consumerist shit. like the blind boxes. blind boxes are the DEVIL, because they result in people blowing a shit ton of money and trashing all their duplicates, causing a shit tone of waste. yes, i think they have a right to sell merch, but oh my god they are not doing it ethically at all. not to mention the exorbitant prices for some of the merch. i think one of their ties are $30? somewhere around that price. itâs insane. what is the point. in supporting an indie company. when they do the EXACT shit disney would do.
cops shows are cocomelon for racist boomer parents
When BoJack Horseman (2014-2020) said "you can't keep doing shitty things and then feel bad about yourself like that makes it ok. you need to be better" and "all we have are the connections we make" and "I really should've thought about the view from halfway down" and "sometimes you have to take responsibility for your own happiness" and "you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around, you turn yourself around, THAT'S what it's all about" and "things have to get worse before they can get better" and "in real life, the big gesture isn't enough, you need to be consistent" and "if we hadn't met each other until now, we wouldn't be the people we are now" and, my personal favourite, "every day it gets a little easier, but you gotta do it every day, that's the hard part, but it does get easier".

Being a BoJack Horseman fan is so hard because the show explores themes of trauma, addiction, mental illness, the dark side of fame, suicidal ideation, cycles of harm, and redemption in honest and nuanced ways better than much other media I've seen. But if you get really into it and want to talk about that, you have to have serious discussions about characters with names like Mr. Peanutbutter and Cutie Cutie Cupcake
me realizing how normalized racism is on the internet and that people will defend any creator if they make a show they like

rwby fans on their way to explain why naming a black character flint coal isnt racist at all
i am so fucking tired of how normalized racism is in fandom spaces
i saw it when people were defending a black character being named "flint coal"
i saw it when people defending a company that was genuinely filled with behind-the-scenes racism
i saw it when people were seeing dark skinned characters as more aggressive than their light skinned peers
but apparently im "overreacting" and "seeing things that arent there" so i should just keep my mouth shut and take it
I think the ironic thing to me anytime people say that the vast amount of hate/criticism Rwby gets is misogynistic (not that some of it isnât) is that Rwby itself is misogynistic.
In the first few volumes alone, the main team get pushed aside to focus on Jaune (the male character who from my memory is voiced by one the writers). Jaune is written in a similar vein to a boring harem protagonist (which is why thereâs a huge amount of fanfics centring around Jaune getting a harem), in that heâs an average guy surrounded by other powerful characters, and his main love interest (and much more interesting concept wise) falls in love with him for seeing the true her or some bullshit. Sheâs essentially fridged for his development, and we spend the next volumes focusing on how HE feels about the events. And thatâs one male character . And weâre also not getting into the fact that most of the main female cast are mostly white, skinny with no blemishes or other disabilities than an amputee.
i fucking hate how gaslighty the fandom is when you criticize this show
THANK YOU
I noticed this thing online where people try to defend media properties by saying âthey worked hard on itâ Itâs just a form of deflection from genuine criticism. Yeah what the crew has gone through hell to make anything is impressive but that doesnât matter. If it sucks then it sucks. If I go to pizzeria and they gave me a brunt pizza, I didnât like my pizza being burnt to a crisp and the employee said that the cooks worked hard on it so I should eat it. It doesnât matter what matters is the pizza tastes like shit. Putting effort in something does not equal a good thing.

i think one of the reasons why japan and korean is "like that" is because they're countries where noone else speaks their language and they have low english fluency, which essentially turns their internet into one massive echo chamber
it's why sexualization of minors is so normalized in japanese media, its why korean men are having an insane gender war against korean woken, it's how you get japanese people crashing out about piracy after twitter added automatic translation, they literally do not know any other narrative
