I’ve finally overcome my writer’s block and I’m happy to announce that I’m finally posting the first six chapters of my fic, Shattered Ice, on my AO3! If it sounds familiar, that’s because the first chapter was a quick one-shot I posted here as a rewrite of one of my old scrapped fic drafts.

But, now it’s a full fledged fic following the redemption of Frost. Plus, this will be my first fic with Frabba (Frost x Cabba) as the primary ship, but I’ve still kept some classic Frit banter, even though it isn’t the ship at hand.

I sub to the headcanon that Frieza's hell is sort of a "solitary confinement" as a tacked on punishment, perhaps for having quite a stacked reputation or not "playing nice" with his fellow "inmates"- just prefacing because I do think the Z filler Hell coexists with Frieza's tree dimension.

If Frost had a personal hell, I don't think it would be the same saccharine sweet as Frieza's cherry blossoms and fairies- Frieza hell does more than just rehash the aesthetic of "sending Dabura to Heaven", it also pokes at the insecurities. The all-powerful emperor in life is restrained in a cocoon (powerlessness/stripped of autonomy) and is easily beaten around like a pinata by dainty cutesy creatures.

Frost's long con likely made the fame go to his head and he'd feed off of highly-craved attention. After it's all stripped away in an instant and he has to go on the run, the desire for attention is a bit lessened since being noticed equals being caught and captured but it definitely left him touch-starved. So, I think the "personal hell" that would stab the right point, now that he's around a similar sort where he can be openly evil, would be to make him invisible.

I know there's a lot of emotes where you look at it and think "he would not do that" but that's the comedy of it.

The concept of Hit having a contract out for a kill during June, but Frost gives him a teasing hassle about it because the target's last sighted location is a gay bar. "Really, Hit? During PRIDE MONTH?!"

It really doesn't bother him that much, but it's to try and get the assassin to squirm. "It's nothing to do with who he loves, it's because he [insert heinous crime here, idk, ran over an orphanage???]."

"So you say... Name me one gay criminal."

Hit just silently points to the lizard.

They probably wouldn't write any distinction in major plot beats, but I can just imagine Bulma would be unsubtly giving the Frieza Race CAC this look while giving us the tutorial city tour:

Was able to find an eBook of the official black and white to screenshot (thank you library!) and finally settle my hunch that the more widely available full color scanslation of this line is very likely a mistranslation or pulling something out of nothing.

Sure, no translation is perfect and some may judge the official VIZ for some changes such as using Hercule instead of Mr. Satan (which this translation acknowledges in its character intro page) but, when the interpretation varies to this extent, it's suspect. I've mentioned before that the timeline doesn't add up with this popular placement of Goten's conception, as he is born in the same year as the May Cell Games and would need to be born two months premature to fit into the last possible moment of December. Assuming the Dragon World doesn't have mysterious new months ala "Smarch" in the middle of summer or something...

This line still remains one of the biggest fandom misconceptions and it's probably not helping that one of the easiest to access scanslations online at the moment corroborates it, not to mention everyone wink wink nudge nudging at the fact that Goku and Chi-Chi have Gohan leave the house during that week.
