"You're freezing, come here" with tiny virgil and human roman
This one was fun to write and a new au even formed out of it, so there is more information about that under the cut!
Virgil shook, arms wrapping around himself in an attempt to keep himself warm. Roman’s room was freezing. Had it always been this cold and Virgil was just now feeling it because of his size? That had to be it, because Roman seemed perfectly fine, sitting there at his desk. Virgil wished he was on Roman’s bed, at least if he was there he could bundle up. But all he had up on the desk, inside his cage, was his hoodie and a thin cloth. Both things seemed to be doing nothing to keep him warm.
Roman paused in his brainstorming to glance up at Virgil, only to frown when he noticed how badly Virgil was shaking. He put his pencil down, giving the anxious side his full attention.
“Virgil? Are you alright?” Roman asked and Virgil tensed. He quickly nodded his head.
“I’m fine.” He said sharply, but a sudden wave of cold caused him to shudder in that moment. Roman’s eyebrows furrowed before realizing what was wrong.
“You’re freezing.” Roman hadn’t thought it was that cold, but Virgil was only a few inches tall and prone to being cold anyway. Roman should have noticed sooner. Roman reached over and opened up the cage door, holding his hand out in front of it. “Come here.”
Virgil backed more into his cage, tense and staring at Roman’s hand warily.The way Roman had said that sent Virgil’s heartbeat into overdrive. “N-No, I said I’m fine.” Virgil said, but he was still shaking. Though from the cold or fear, Virgil could no longer tell. Roman’s eyes hardened.
“Virgil. If you don’t come out on your own, I’ll just grab you myself. Now come here, I’m not going to hurt you.” Roman would have just skipped this whole thing and grabbed Virgil himself, but he was trying to teach him to listen. Because Virgil, even at 4 inches tall, was very stubborn.
Virgil knew he had to do what Roman said, less he was forced to. So with great hesitation and fear, Virgil walked towards the entrance of his cage. He stared down and Roman’s hand before slowly climbing onto it. He just barely sat down in the center of the palm when the hand moved. He fell backwards and shook as the fingers coiled around him.
Roman brought his hand to his chest, hand cupped around Virgil and holding him close to his body in order to share his body heat with the anxious side. “See, now was that so hard?” Roman asked.
Virgil didn’t answer, instead too focused on the way that Roman surrounded him. At least he wasn’t cold anymore. In fact, though Virgil hated to admit it. The warmth was actually kind of nice. The close proximity and touching just not so much.
Roman hummed with a smug grin, before turning back to his work.
