BACKSTORY

Eunae is the youngest daughter of Kang Namil and Yoon Jaehwa, wealthy investment bankers, and the younger sister of Kang Inhye. While Inhye was seen as the 'perfect' daughter, Eunae is generally seen as the smart, sarcastic one that takes nobody's shit.

Growing up she was in a very elite and highly academic schooling community, and while she loved the competitiveness of it all, that didn't stop her from thinking that school generally sucked. In her first year of high school she found out the school had a partnership with the school in Violet Springs and excepted exchange students. Knowing that her parents would never let her go alone, she managed to convince Inhye to go with her. In Korea, the girls were pretty much in the same friend group, but that changed whilst they were in Violet Springs. While she was welcomed to join the same popular group her sister was in she never hung out with them and was either seen by herself or with the nerdy group of kids, putting her studies before anything because she wanted to make a name for herself in the long run rather than being seen as a nepo baby.

After graduating from high school she got accepted into a university in Seoul where she is now residing. Her first year went really well, but what she didn't expect was to get pregnant. While she was on a vacation back in Incheon, she went to a party and hooked up with a guy in the nerdy clique she knew from high school, Han Taeil. While she tried to attend lectures as much as she could before she felt too pregnant, she decided to take a year off her studies and went back to Incheon so she can give birth to her child and have Haeil and her family around for support. At 21 she went back to Seoul to continue where left off, with her parents and grandparents offering to take care of her daughter while she's away starting her second year of university.

At 22, she is still going to uni in Seoul, going back to Incheon to see her daughter every Friday straight after her last class for the week to spend the weekend with her. Her and Haeil have attempted being a relationship several times since she was pregnant with Nayoung but due to the distance and different ideas on how they want to raise Nayoung their relationship has been very on and off

Inhye is the oldest daughter of Kang Namil and Yoon Jaehwa, both investment bankers coming from old money. As a child she got everything she wanted, and even though being the eldest daughter meant that there was more pressure put on her, she got out of any mess with her hands clean.

Growing up she'd attended very elite schools, which had very high expectations for academics from the fourth grade onwards. While her and her little sister were passing with flying colours, they hated the amount of stress they were put under and applied for an exchange program to Violet Springs to escape from it. Oblivious to the reason why, her parents said yes and bought a house for them to live in together in the springs cost-free. In her old school she blended in with the rest of the student body, but when it came to Violet Springs and being an international exchange student from a wealthy family, it was easy for her to fall into the elite popular, rich girl clique. On top of being popular she was incredibly smart, but no one paid attention to that and she didn't really care too much about it either.

After she graduated high school she went straight back to Incheon and studied real estate in a prestigious university, landing a job in a luxury real estate agency shortly afterwards. During uni she was in a relationship with someone she thought she'd end up with forever. While they ended up breaking up after a couple of years together a mutual friend of theirs let it slide past Inhye that he'd been cheating on her for months leading up to their breakup. 22 and heartbroken, she went to her mother and told her about everything and how she's willing to meet other people, which eventually got relayed to her father. Her father got to work and immediately started setting her up on blind dates with men from influential families. At first she genuinely tried to get something out of those blind dates, but most -if not all- of the guys she'd met failed to interest her. Even with a job that has her flying all around Asia and the states she still goes on blind dates that her family sets up for her but nowadays she sees it as something she has to do more to boost her family's reputation than to find love for herself.
