Wonderful news! My dear friend Fadel (@fadel-dani) was able to present his graduation project at his university and received his Bachelor's degree in Information Technology! Anyone who would like to congratulate and bless Fadel can do so by donating so that he can get medical treatment and study for his master's and doctorate in a safer place.

Fadel's project was about creating an integrated system for managing the water desalination plant in Gaza electronically. This is an incredibly important project, because Israel has systematically destroyed Gaza's water treatment infrastructure, blocked repairs in countless ways, and targeted workers. It is extremely brave to be working on this project. Please donate so that Fadel can one day lend his skill to rebuilding Gaza. From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free.

While Fadel shared this happy news with friends, he was interrupted by Israeli helicopters bombing nearby. There were four strikes on Gaza City last night and at least ten people were martyred. As we text today, @fadel-dani is still in the hospital receiving treatment. To maintain hope in the future, he must survive the present. Jaafar is a computer engineer from Gaza City.

Jaafar desperately needs to raise funds for his fundraiser, but his Tumblr accounts keep getting deleted, cutting off his ability to keep in touch with potential donors, and in fact I have had to use other methods to keep in touch with him. Because of the constant deletions, he's had great difficulty finding consistent support. And the problem is not just with Tumblr: he's told me that even email can be difficult for him to access because of the restrictions placed on Gazans.

Jaafar is trying hard to raise funds to support himself and his family. Due to the continued escalation of violence in Gaza, his needs have increased and have increased urgency. He has told me that he started a new campaign to help with these efforts.

Things are very difficult here — the cost of moving to the south is $1,000, and a single tent also costs $1,000, if we can even find a place in southern Gaza.
