We like to imagine we're oh so logical and neat so we design our cities to be logical and neat an then real humans literally trample on that idea. The ego required to think you can design something perfect that checks every box. Life is all about compromise and patching stuff when some new problem arises. Though people have certainly tried! Ohio state univeristy let students carve their desire paths, and then paved them over. It looks pretty artsy.

Some people will try to discourage desire paths, but this is almost always going to fail.

Eventually, people just have to accept them. Humans are too dang stubborn.

Certain desire paths are just adorable. A 0.5 second time saver. You just can't design for maximum efficiency, humans will always find shortcuts!

Though on occasion a desire path can actually be the least efficient way...especially if you're superstitious.

In a wilder area, such as below, they show us the curiosity of humans. A desire path somewhere natural often tells you there's something interesting just ahead. (Though remember some ecosystems are fragile and will suffer if trampled! Stick to paths in these sorts of areas)

And how about desire stairs? I always think these look so cool. We get see humans determination to climb, to traverse every kind of terrain.

Men murder at least 137 women they know every day.

In 2017, men murdered at least  87,000 women around the world. 30,000 of the victims were their wives and girlfriends.

In the USA, men murdered 1,800 women they knew in 2016.

Mexican men murder around 5 women a day in total impunity. They murdered 16 000 mexican women in only 8 years.

In France, a man murders his wife every 2 or 3 days. That's several thousands murdered women over the past 10 years.

Men murder prostituted women at a higher rate than any other class of women. Prostituted women (or "sex workers") are 60 to 120 times more likely to be murdered.

In discussions about gender and sex, it’s very likely that sooner or later, someone will claim that “biological sex is a spectrum”. Usually, they will point to intersex conditions as a way to argue that male and female aren’t clearly defined categories, or that there are multiple sexes that exist on a continuum. Here’s why this is not true: 

An organism’s biological sex is defined by the type of gamete their reproductive anatomy is organized to produce: sperm or eggs. Males develop towards the production of small gametes, called sperm; and females develop towards the production of large gametes, called ova. 

Since there are no intermediate gametes between sperm and eggs, and since there is no third kind of gamete, there are only two sexes: male or female. There are only two kind of sex cells, therefore, only two kinds of sexes. 

Sex is binary: there are no additional sexes other than male or female, and sex does not fall on a spectrum of infinite possibilities. Your sex corresponds to one of two possible developmental pathways your body went down on to support the production of either sperm or eggs. 

Human sexual dimorphism is so consistent, that more than 99.98% of births are unambiguously male or female. We rely on these clear differences between males and females to sexually reproduce, via the fusion of sperm and ova, in order to perpetuate the species. 

Sex in humans is genetically determined at conception (when the sperm fertilizes the egg), specifically by the presence or absence of a functioning SRY gene, which typicallly finds itself on the Y chromosome provided by the father. 

The present (and active) SRY gene differentiates the baby’s gonads into testes, and supports the production of small gametes (sperm). The fetus develops male.

The absent (or inactive) SRY gene differentiates the baby’s gonads into ovaries, and supports the production of large gametes (eggs). The fetus develops female. 

Thanks to the SRY gene, sex determination in humans (and mammals in general) is completely dimorphic. This doesn’t mean, however, that variations don’t occur within this binary system. This is where intersex people come in.

Intersex people have rare conditions called Differences in Sex Development (DSDs for short). Intersex conditions are contingent on innate, physical bodily characteristics, not personal identity or expression. What defines intersex people is that their innate sex characteristics differ from medical norms. Intersex is not an identity or a feeling, but a biological reality. 

Intersex people are neither an amorphous mixture of sex characteristics, nor a third sex, nor “hermaphrodites”. People with DSDs are still male or female like every single other human being, they simply have differences in how their bodies developed in anatomy and physiology towards being male or female. 

Differences in Sex Development are congenital medical conditions of the reproductive system which affect males and females differently. DSDs are sex-specific. There are males who have intersex conditions and females who have intersex conditions. 

To illustrate how DSDs are not exceptions to the binary system of sex, I’ll use three examples:

In very rare circumstances, a fetus may develop with a chormosome variation of XXY. Or even rarer, XXXY. Despite the extra X chromosome, these cases develop as male, thanks to the present and active SRY gene on the Y chromosome that triggers the developmental pathway that supports gonadal differentiation into testes and sperm production. These babies are male. 

Sometimes, a fetus with an XX karyotype has a translocation of the SRY gene that results on the SRY being present on the X chromosome, instead of the Y. Thanks to the present and active SRY gene on the X chromosome, testicular tissue is developed and the baby develops towards the production of sperm. These babies are also male.

In some intersex cases, a fetus with an XY karyotype, but with an inactive, although present, SRY gene, develops as female. With this gene being inactive, the gonadal tissue differentiates into ovaries that support the production of eggs. These babies are female. 

So, looking at sex determination and the role of the SRY gene in the development of reproductive anatomy, we can clearly see that sex is completely binary. The baby either supports sperm production, or egg production. There is no “in-between” or a third kind of development. In no way is sex a spectrum or an undefinable category. 

There are plenty of sex differences between males and females: chromosomes, hormone levels, gonadal tissue, gene expression, genital anatomy, weight, height, muscle mass and bone density, for example. No matter the type of variation in characteristics, biological sex is and forever will be, defined by the type of gamete your body develops to produce. Males support small gamete production and females support large gamete production. Two gametes = two sexes. 

Biologists do not support the claim that variation of chromosomes, gonads or hormones is equivalent to “new sexes”. Sex is the developmental pathway your body went on to produce sperm or eggs. Variation in development does not mean one becomes a different sex. Intersex conditions are anatomical variations within males and females, not “new sexes”. XXY males are still males, and XO females are still females. 

Intersex people are tired of being used as pawns in anti-scientific arguments made by activists who use the complexity of DSD conditions as a way to muddle and confuse the discussion about biological sex. Sex is still binary, even when you consider intersex conditions.

Don’t let activists confuse you and convince you that your scientific knowledge is “outdated” or “bigoted”. Don’t let social justice activists persuade you by taking advantage of your likely unfamiliarity with intersex conditions and fool you into thinking science supports the existence of more than two sexes. Gender theorists are not scientists, and they lack severe understanding of biology and DSD conditions. 

In these arguments, don’t let it slip your mind that sex is, always has been and always will be universally defined by the kind of gamete production your body supports; not by anatomical variations in sex development. When the definition of biological sex is clear to you, it will become much less likely that these con artists manage to confuse you into thinking “sex is a spectrum”, that there are “more than two sexes” or that “it’s impossible to clearly define male and female categories”. 

Using intersex conditions as a “gotcha” in arguments about gender and sex serves trans activists and gender theorists no purpose: the fact that people with DSDs exist does not mean that human beings can switch sex, that sex is a spectrum or that unambiguously male and female people (99.98%+ of births) can become the opposite sex.

this is getting exhausting to me slowly, but apparently I must once again explain why "trans woman periods" aren't real. I'm not saying this out of dislike of MtF transsexuals, I'm saying this out of dislike of ignorance.

"periods" or "period-like symptoms" or "PMS symptoms" in male-to-female trans people aren't possible for several reasons; I'm not negating that some of them subjectively report it, but I believe there must be other reasons for the symptoms. reasons include: possibly general hormonal imbalance symptoms (most hormonal fluctuations manifest with symptoms that are also present in the menstrual cycle - such as mood swings, irritability, sweating, libido swings - since it involves fluctuations naturally) or perhaps ionic disturbances caused by spironolactone usage (which can cause intenstinal cramping), or just placebo effect.

either way, progressing to why trans women (MtF) can't have periods.

reason 1: trans women don't have cycles

trans women have their natural hormone production blocked by spirolactone or cyproterone, which push their gonads into inactivity. I have been told male/"amab" bodies also have "natural cycles" - well, if they do, it's not in case of trans women, whose natural hormone production is muted. they only have synthetic sex hormones in their system, provided from the outside. they take those hormones regularly in the same doses; there's no room for a "cycle", neither their own body's hormone production can fluctuate (blocked out, inactive) nor their outside-distributed hormones (evened, regular dosage). while there is room for fluctuations caused by things such as sickness, stress, other drugs etc, there's 0 reason for those to happen monthly, with regularity.

reason 2: trans women have high estradiol levels

estradiol can be used to stop the menstrual cycle (and is used, in contraception). trans women, on average doses of MtF hormones, have higher estradiol levels than the norm in natal women of the time - they tend to have the highest levels seen naturally in healthy natal women (ovulation levels), those are the goal levels in MtF cross-sex therapy, and those levels if maintained would disturb the cycle in a natal female and effectively prevent a period from happening.

reason 3: trans women don't have hormonal drops

in female people, or "afabs", the period is caused by a hormonal drop. both estradiol and progesterone are low at the time, and it's a fairly sudden drop, too. unless trans women stop taking their hrt suddenly, that’s not going to happen; even with fluctuations that can happen in mtfs, this can't reasonably be caused by anything other than just stopping the supplimentation.

reason 4: trans women lack other hormones regulating the menstrual cycle

most trans women don't even take progesterone; there’s a ton of substances other than estradiol that participate in regulation of the menstrual cycle, which aren't produced by the male body in sufficient amounts, especially given as blockers will disable the normal functioning of the hypothalmus-pituitary-gonads axis. some of the regulation is performed by the ovum itself; obviously, all these mutual interactions in MtFs are absent.

reason 5: some symptoms are caused by inflammation inside the uterus

prostaglandins and other mediators in the area cause symptoms such as intestinal cramping. trans women when they lack a uterus, and inflammation inside it, and a ton of factors that could cause said inflammation, see reason 1, 2, 3 and 4.

I can identify the reason behind those misconceptions: a mentality that states periods are a mythical thing related to Essence of Womanlyness and therefore becoming more "Womanly" and getting Woman Hormones should give you one. well, it's not. it's a biological process that has reasons, and weirdly I don't see why - given you like to point out not all women have them and some men do - you would want them so much.

For a woman to only be able to feed herself through transactional sex, requires a stratified society with food surplices, which would require agriculture first to create those surplices.

If a woman is swapping sex for any resource (food, clothes, coins), then the making of those resources came first, and as others have already pointed out, here and under other posts, midwifery came earlier than any other ‘profession’.

The oldest profession in the world (or the world’s oldest profession) is a phrase that, unless another meaning is specified, refers to prostitution.  However, it did not start to acquire that meaning until 1889, after a Rudyard Kipling story, and it did not do so universally until after World War I. Formerly, various professions vied for the reputation of being the oldest.

Clearly, the oldest profession in the world was the “wise woman” — the grandmother.

She would have known: when to plant, and when to harvest. How to find the hives that produce the honey, and what honey can be used for (beer, sweetener, antiseptic). She would know how to set snares for rabbits and small game, and how to forage for mushrooms and herbs and fruits and berries. And, most importantly:

Cases of TIMs/crossdressing males assaulting, molesting, or filming women and girls in public restrooms and changing facilities:

Katie Dolatowski: A TIM who sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl inside the women’s restroom at a supermarket. He’d also previously attempted to film a 12-year-old girl as she was using the restroom.

Thomas Lee Benson: A crossdressing child sex offender with a history of spying on young girls inside women’s locker rooms and changing rooms.

Sean (Shauna) Smith: A TIM who entered a changing stall inside a Target store and used his phone to film an 18-year-old girl as she undressed in the neighboring changing stall. When prosecutors investigated Smith’s phone, they found more voyeuristic videos of women and girls taken in women’s changing facilities.

Jason Pomare: A crossdresser who used a mini-camcorder attached to his bag to film women inside the women’s restroom.

Richard Rodriguez: A crossdresser who repeatedly filmed women inside mixed-sex restrooms.

Laverne Waskahat: A high-risk convicted pedophile who now identifies as a woman. Waskahat has a history of abusing infants and toddlers, and he’s known for taking voyeuristic photos of young girls inside women’s restrooms.

Patrick Hagan: A 6’3” TIM who punched a 60-year-old woman in the face for questioning his presence in the women’s restroom. The woman had five of her teeth knocked out, and it was estimated that it would cost her as much as $60,000 in dental bills. Hagan claimed to have felt ‘threatened’ when the woman confronted him, even though she was 10 inches shorter and 110 pounds lighter than him.

(name n/a): A TIM elementary schooler at Oakhurst Elementary School in Decatur, Georgia who sexually assaulted a 5-year-old girl in the girls’ restroom.

Cases of TIMs assaulting or harassing female inmates while held in women’s prisons:

Nataly Monge Brenes: This TIM is a child sex abuser who was transferred to a women’s prison after claiming to be the target of sexual assaults in men’s prison. Very shortly after being transferred to the women’s prison, Brenes began to terrorize female inmates. Recently, he attempted to rape a female inmate inside a restroom. He’s since been placed in isolation.

Steve (Sam) Mehlenbacher: This man was serving his fourth federal sentence when he began identifying as a woman and was transferred to a women’s prison. Shortly after the transfer, he sexually assaulted a female inmate.

Andre Patterson (Janiah Monroe): A TIM who strangled a male cellmate to death with his bare hands during an argument. He was transferred to a women’s prison after claiming to be the target of sexual assaults in men’s prison. Two months after the transfer, Patterson raped a female inmate.

Stephen Wood (Karen White): A TIM who raped four female inmates during his stay in a women’s prison. Between January and December 2016, Wood repeatedly raped a woman he had met in a West Yorkshire psychiatric unit. He also stabbed a 66-year-old male neighbor. While awaiting trial on charges of grievous bodily harm and burglary, Wood told probation officers that he was sexually interested in children. He has a 1989 conviction for exposing himself to a nine-year-old boy and 2001 convictions for indecent assault and gross indecency against a 12-year-old boy.

Michael Williams: A man who—along with four others—lured a 13-year-old girl into a golf course where he brutally raped, strangled, and stabbed her before bludgeoning her to death with a hammer. Williams began identifying as a woman while incarcerated, and he was transferred to Fraser Valley Institution (FVI) for women. However, after being accused of sexual harassment by multiple female inmates, Williams was transferred back to men’s prison. Morgane Oger, a TIM politician who continuously engages in public attacks on women’s rights, supports Williams being transferred back to FVI and has accused the female inmates of lying. Oger Tweeted, “We know nearly everyone’s lying in the prisons. We know inmates take strategic action for desired outcomes. We know status gets claimed for advantage and sentencing outcomes.”

Martin Ponting (Jessica Winfield): In 1995, Ponting was sentenced to life in prison for the rapes of two young girls. After he began identifying as a woman, Ponting was transferred to a women’s prison. There, Ponting sexually attacked multiple female inmates.

Matthew Harks (Madilyn Rebecca Harks): A serial child sex offender who began identifying as a woman in 2014. Harks was originally imprisoned for the sexual assaults of two children, a four-year-old girl and a five-year-old girl. While on probation for these offenses, Harks sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl. He sexually assaulted at least two female inmates during his incarceration. 

Adam Laboucan (Tara Desousa): A highly dangerous offender who’s being held in a women’s prison because he now identifies as a woman. When Laboucan was 15-years-old, he raped a three-month-old baby boy. The damage he caused was so severe that the baby required reconstructive surgery. Laboucan has also admitted to drowning a three-year-old child when he was only 11-years-old. While in women’s prison, he assaulted a female inmate and threatened to kill a female guard. 

(name n/a): A TIM who sexually attacked female inmates while held in Christchurch Women’s Prison in New Zealand.

Dennis (Alison) Woolbert: This TIM is a prominent trans rights activist and the creator of ‘TERF Tracker.’ He’s a convicted felon who repeatedly raped his 15-year-old stepdaughter.

Wesley (Laurelai) Bailey: The TIM creator of ‘Shinigami Eyes’ who has been accused of sexually harassing and raping multiple young women and girls, including a 14-year-old. Steven Akins (AKA ‘Bardfinn’): A TIM Reddit moderator responsible for the removal of gender critical subreddits. Akins has a prior arrest for abusing his wife and children, and he has made statements supporting incest.

Cherno Biko: This TIM is an esteemed trans rights activist and the co-founder of #BlackTransLivesMatter. He raped a trans man—who’d previously considered him a friend—with the intent to impregnate her with ‘non-binary’ babies. Less than a year after his rape confession, Biko was asked to take the stage at the Women’s March in Washington DC. He also served as Co-Chair of the Young Women’s Advisory Council of New York City until July 2016. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is ranked among the Trans 100 and was listed in 2014 as one of the National Black Justice Coalition’s 100 Emerging Leaders.

Jakob (Dakota) Nieves: A TIM trans rights advocate who raped a four-year-old girl and admitted to distributing images and videos of the act online. Back in 2018, Nieves made a Facebook post stating, “I am human just like you. I deserve the same rights as you do. I am transgender. Not a criminal. I shouldn’t be stripped of my rights, vote yes on #3 this Tuesday! I will not be erased!”

Dana McCallum / Dana Contreras: A TIM senior Twitter engineer and trans rights advocate who faced charges for the violent rape of his estranged wife. One night after his wife presented him with divorce papers, McCallum arrived unexpectedly at her condo in Noe Valley and raped her in an alcohol-induced rage. The woman’s three children were home during the attack. McCallum had been working for Twitter since 2010, and he was recognized by Business Insider as “one of the geniuses behind Twitter.” He was also said to be “one of the most important gay or transgender people in the tech industry,” and he often described himself as an “advocate for women and LGBT people.”

Travis Lee Stroud (Meredith Russo): A TIM trans rights advocate and author who subjected his estranged wife to repeated rapes and physical abuse.

Kadence Pinder: A TIM YouTuber and trans rights advocate who downloaded 125 indecent images of children while running a daycare center along with his boyfriend Marcus Strebel. The images featured boys as young as three or four years old being sexually abused.

Kami Sid: This TIM is famous for being Pakistan’s first transgender model, and he is a prominent trans rights activist. He and his boyfriend “used to sexually abuse, torture, and beat” a TIM adolescent who worked for the couple from age 14 to 15.

David Challenor: A trans rights activist and an advocate of ‘gender-neutral’ restrooms. He was a prominent supporter of his son, a TIM Green Party politician. He also used to assist his son in running ‘Terfblocker’ on Twitter. David Challenor was convicted of holding a 10-year-old girl captive in his attic and subjecting her to repeated rapes and sexual torture. Challenor carried out these atrocities while crossdressing, wearing toddler–style dresses and diapers.

Ashton (Aimee) Challenor: The TIM son of David Challenor. He is a former Green Party politician and trans rights activist (and the creator of ‘Terfblocker’) who was recently hired as a Reddit moderator. He is married to Nathaniel Knight, a man who writes pornographic fiction about children.

Chad Sevearance-Turner: This convicted child molester is a highly esteemed trans rights activist. Sevearance-Turner led the effort to overturn North Carolina’s law barring people from using the restrooms, locker rooms, and changing facilities of the opposite sex. He received multiple honors for his work at CLGBTC, including Person of the Year. In 1998, Sevearance-Turner took advantage of his position as his church’s music minister to molest underage boys within the congregation. In 2016, Tami Fitzgerald of the N.C. Values Coalition exposed Sevearance-Turner’s criminal record of child molestation, pointing out that a convicted sex offender was fighting to change a long-term legal policy designed to keep women and girls safe while using public showers, locker rooms, restrooms, dressing rooms, and similar public accomodations. Sevearance-Turner resigned from his position, but he remained as advisory consultant to the board. He has since been quietly reinstated as President of the organization.

Ross (Nicola) Florida: While serving eight years in prison on charges of child rape, indecent assault, and possession of indecent photos of children, Florida began identifying as a woman. Following his release in 2015, Florida began taking estrogen and involving himself in trans rights activism. He wrote an article for Somerset Live about his experiences and did an on-camera interview with Somerset Live on the story of his ‘transgender journey.’ In 2016, Florida went to a photo print shop and requested to have a strip of four photos of a nude 10-year-old girl developed. He was arrested, and the police found more indecent images of the same girl in Florida’s home.

Kristoffer/Magdela Johansson (Kim Marie): A TIM trans rights advocate who brutally murdered and dismembered his ex-girlfriend. He served only six years in a women’s prison. On his Instagram account, Johansson describes himself as a “TERF hunter”, and he frequently posts photos of his assault rifle.

Michael Jameson (Lauren Jeska): A TIM who was England’s champion fell-runner three times between 2010 and 2012 and is now serving 18 years for attempted murder. After failing to produce samples to determine his testosterone levels, Jameson’s eligibility to compete in women’s competitions was questioned by UK Athletics. At the Alexander Stadium in March 2016, Jameson violently attacked an athletics official, repeatedly stabbing him in the head and neck. He also injured two other athletics officials who tried to intervene during the attack.

Kyle Ashley Jake Watts (Zoe Watts): A TIM equalities officer and trans rights advocate charged with importing illegal weapons and making an explosive with the intent of using it for an unlawful purpose. Watts has a YouTube channel called ‘Survival Mistakes’ which includes a video of himself using a baseball bat covered in glass shards to smash watermelons with masks of famous faces on them, including feminist scholar Germaine Greer.

Carol Lea: A TIM trans rights advocate who assaulted a teenage girl with a hammer following a dispute in a KFC parking lot. Lea is a five-year equality and diversity trainer for the Merseyside Police.

Some of the many other cases of TIMs and male crossdressers being pedophiles, rapists, and sexual predators:

David Reeves (Ella Davies): A TIM imprisoned for possessing images depicting the rape and torture of female toddlers. Reeves was arrested 12 times in 2016 alone for possessing indecent images of children. He blames his prolific sexual criminality on gender dysphoria, autism, depression, his divorce, loss of contact with his children, and being abused as a child. Reeves was given a two-year suspended sentence in 2016, and he was ordered to take a treatment course for sex offenders. He claimed through defense lawyer Barry White that gender dysphoria prevented him from completing the course. In August 2017, officers raided Reeves’ home and found 1,103 images of children on his smartphone. Entered into evidence were photos of a man raping a girl as young as two years old and an image of a child of around three years old with a plastic bag over her head and the word “rape” scrawled across her body. Reeves ended up being sentenced to only a year and nine months in prison.

Alejandro Gentile (Barbie Kardashian): An 18-year-old TIM who made explicit threats of violence against two people in July, August, and September 2020. At the time of his arrest on September 24, he was free on bail on charges of the sexual assaults of two women. Gentile’s solicitor, Michèle Finan, insists he would be “exceptionally vulnerable in a prison setting,” and that he should be detained in a female prison. Gentile has repeatedly expressed a desire to abuse, rape, and murder women. In 2012, when he was only 10 years old, he violently attacked his own mother. After being removed from his mother’s care, Gentile continued thinking up plans to murder her, including a scheme that involved obtaining his mother’s address and breaking into her home. He displayed violent and sexual behaviors toward female care staff during his early teens, and he kept a list of care staff he intended to harm. He began identifying as female at age 15. Currently, he is being held in the women’s section of Limerick Prison.

Mark (Nicole Rose) Campbell: A man who showed no remorse after subjecting his 10-year-old daughter to repeated rapes and sexual abuse, traumatizing her to the point that she nearly committed suicide. While incarcerated, Campbell began identifying as a woman and taking estrogen. He’s now been transferred to a women’s prison.

Mark (Marcia) Walker: A man imprisoned for the rapes of two girls under 16, one of whom was only four-years-old. He was also convicted of 10 counts of making indecent photographs of children, seven counts of taking indecent photographs of children, and two counts of distributing indecent photographs of children. He now identifies as a woman. Recently, Walker attacked a prison guard who confiscated the razor blade that he’d been using to shave, as this ‘worsened his dysphoria’.

Rachel Smith: A TIM convicted pedophile who was caught engaging in regular contact with a 14-year-old girl via Instagram. Judge Robert Spragg claimed Smith would be “vulnerable and easily exploited” if placed in prison, and that the public would be best protected by Smith having added intervention from the authorities rather than a prison sentence, as there was “nothing overtly sexual in the chats”. Smith also escaped a prison sentence in 2018 when he was convicted of making indecent photographs of children. The judge had given him only 6 months behind bars and a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order forbidding him from unsupervised or online contact with children under 16. On his Facebook account, Smith uploads photos of himself dressed up as a schoolgirl.

Rafael Tadeu (Suzy) de Oliveira: A man imprisoned for the rape and murder of a nine-year-old boy. Oliveira had once attempted to rape his own five-year-old nephew during a stay at his brother’s home. He once casually divulged to his aunt that, while in the process of burglarizing a house, he had raped a small child in the child’s bedroom. Additionally, he had gotten into a conflict with his employers after he was accused of abusing a 3-year-old child. While incarcerated, Oliveira began identifying as a woman. On March 1, 2020, an interview with Oliveira was aired on the Brazilian TV show Fantástico as part of an episode/report entitled “Trans women prisoners face prejudice, abandonment, and violence”. The episode/report was meant to invoke empathy and raise awareness about the plight of trans inmates housed in men’s prisons. (No mention of Oliveira’s past as a child rapist was made during the interview.) Viewers were so moved by the inmate’s tale of loneliness behind bars that they made his name trend on Twitter, and they sent him 235 letters, 16 books, two Bibles, cosmetics, and chocolates within a span of just five days. On March 8, news website The Antagonist revealed that the inmate who had charmed the nation is a child rapist and murderer. There was anger across social media from viewers who felt betrayed and manipulated by the original episode/report.

Louis (Lisa) Massei: A man charged with participating in the kidnapping and violent gang rape of a 16-year-old girl. Convicted of attempted murder, rape, sodomy, and unlawful imprisonment, Massei was sentenced to up to 25 years in prison. While incarcerated, he began identifying as a woman. 

Gary (Marie) Dean: A TIM with a record of over 60 violent and sexual offenses, which include breaking into homes to film himself masturbating while wearing the underwear of the female residents. He has also collected indecent images of underage girls. While incarcerated, Dean began identifying as a woman. He launched a hunger strike, vowing that he’d starve himself to death unless moved to a women’s prison and given access to beauty products.

Patrick (Tara) Pearsall: A serial sex offender who now identifies as a woman. While posing as a medical professional trained to perform gynecological exams, Pearsall sexually assaulted a 21-year-old woman in 2008 and a 17-year-old girl in 2015. He was also previously convicted for sexual assaults in 1999 and 2000. The woman assaulted by Pearsall in 2008 had temporarily moved in with him and his wife after fleeing from an abusive boyfriend. She was pregnant and had been bleeding before she consented to what she believed would be a routine medical examination. During the ‘exam,’ Pearsall told the woman that she could end the miscarriage by having sex with him. This alarmed her, and she fled. Pearsall’s 17-year-old victim was a runaway from a group home. Pearsall and his girlfriend invited the pregnant teen to stay with them. He convinced her that he had medical training, and she permitted him to perform a ‘vaginal exam.’ The girl fled after realizing Pearsall was not medically trained. Pearsall also used social media to groom a 18-year-old developmentally disabled girl, and he sexually abused her in his home for two months. Following these incidents, Pearsall began crossdressing and taking estrogen.

Kenneth Andrew Couch (Vyvenne Ward): A violent sex offender with numerous rape convictions. His most recent rape conviction was in 2006. After spending approximately two decades in prison, Couch began identifying as a woman.

Anthony Scales: A TIM convicted in July 2020 for possessing over 1,500 images depicting the sexual abuse of children. Most of the girls in the images were 8-10 years old. Scales blamed his urges to view child pornography on ‘gender dysphoria’.

Jeffrey (Rose) Terrence Anderson: A man who raped a 12-year-old and sexually abused 6-year-old twin boys he was babysitting. Anderson began identifying as a woman while incarcerated. Following his ‘transition,’ Anderson was released and declared to no longer be a threat, despite being found with a 3-year-old girl’s underwear, lists of child pornography films, and images of young children while in prison.

Christopher Dobbs (Amber Thorden): A man convicted in 2015 of 15 counts of second degree rape and first degree sexual abuse. While incarcerated, he began identifying as a woman and filed a lawsuit demanding to be transferred to a women’s prison.

Aaron Hughes (Aza McKillan): A TIM who was sentenced to five years in a young offender institution after he and two others raped a 6-year-old boy up to 90 times. Between the years of 2004 and 2008, he groomed and sexually assaulted three 13-year-olds. Hughes also filmed himself raping the three-year-old son of Claire Semmens, his accomplice. The boy was sedated during both times that Hughes raped him. Hughes sold the videos of the rapes to Army soldier Christopher Thompson for £50.

Anthony (Toni) Prince: A TIM who collected extreme indecent images of children. When police raided Prince’s home, they seized electronic devices storing 1,191 indecent images of children between the ages of five and thirteen. 108 of the images were classed as Category A, which the Crown Prosecution Service defines as content showing children being raped. The raid also uncovered unsettling handwritten messages in Prince’s bedside drawer that contained the words “rape” and “torture.”  

Mark Turton (Kristen Lukess): A man who served seven years in prison for raping a girl. Turton was also given a Sexual Offenses Protection Order. Upon his release from prison in 2008, Turton became intimately involved with a woman and began living with her part-time. Unaware of his past as a child sex offender, the woman became pregnant with Turton’s child. It was during her eighth month of pregnancy that she learned of Turton’s criminal record, and she notified authorities. Turton was imprisoned for 18 months for his breach of the Sexual Offenses Protection Order. Following his release, he began identifying as a woman.

Sean Ojeda: A TIM arrested in February 2019 on charges of sexual battery of a minor after molesting a 16-year-old boy inside a Walmart restroom.

Joshua (Leah) Harvey: A TIM convicted of five counts of attempting to incite a girl into sexual activity. He breached his Sexual Harm Prevention Order shortly after being released from jail.

Chloe Walker: A TIM with 22 convictions since 2006, including one charge of Sexual Assault Of A Child Under 13 and one charge of Sexual Activity With a Child Under 16. 

John (Julie) Marshall: A TIM convicted of possessing a whopping 80,000 indecent images of children. 

Duncan Smart (Jacinta Brooks): A man convicted of three counts of inciting a 12-year-old girl into sexual activity and three counts of possessing indecent images. Investigators discovered hundreds of indecent images of children in Smart’s possession. The investigators also found screenshots of exchanges between Smart and the 12-year-old girl that showed Smart posing as a 14-year-old boy in order to convince the girl to send him indecent images of herself. During an interview that followed, Smart told officers that he “couldn’t argue” that he is attracted to children. He now identifies as a woman.

Joseph (Josie) Matthew Smith: A convicted pedophile who has sexually molested 15 children, ranging from as young as one year old to 13 years old. Smith was released early from prison after he began identifying as a woman. 

Allan (Jessica) Brennan: A TIM who was sentenced to 22 years for sexually abusing four young girls. Brennan had groomed and sexually assaulted each of the children—one of whom was only four years old—over a 17-year period starting in the late 1990s. 

Joseph Cam: A man who sexually abused a 6-year-old girl and stabbed a 12-year-old boy to death. Cam began identifying as a woman during his trial in 2019.

Andrew Lynley Ward (Beth Hanney): A man who was jailed for 12 months in 2012 for possessing a large amount of indecent images of children. He was also given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. When Ward was visited in 2019 for a routine check of his devices, it was discovered that he had 17 indecent images—five of which were Category A—in his possession. He now identifies as a woman.

Paul (Pauline) Long: A TIM convicted of multiple sexual offenses against two children under 10 years old.

Mason (Adree) Edmo: A TIM who raped a 15-year-old boy. He began identifying as a woman while incarcerated.

Javoris (Aceiyana) Phillips: A TIM who—along with another adult TIM—kidnapped and raped a 14-year-old boy.

Dean Sawley: Sawley’s girlfriend broke up with him after he began crossdressing and planning ‘sex change’ procedures. Three months later, while attending a party, Sawley made sexual comments to female guests, exposed his genitalia to a 15-year-old girl and a 23-year-old woman, and molested a girl as she slept on a couch. After molesting the girl, Sawley brought her into the kitchen and requested sex. When she refused, he raped her. The next morning, the victim told a friend about the rape, which ultimately led to a call to police and Sawley’s arrest. He still identifies as a woman.

Ronny Edward Darnell: A man convicted in 2005 of repeatedly raping a 13-year-old girl. He now identifies as a woman.

Michael Farrow (Louise Ritson): A TIM sentenced to four years and eight months in prison for the rape of a child under 13.

Christopher John Webster: A violent child sex offender who began identifying as a woman while incarcerated and was transferred to a women’s prison.

Albert (Aliea) Brown: A TIM charged with raping a 15-year-old girl. Brown also repeatedly molested a 10-year-old girl in the early 2000s.

(name N/A): A man who subjected his four-year-old stepson to repeated rapes and sexual abuse. The man also repeatedly threatened to break the boy’s limbs. Following his conviction, he began identifying as a woman.

Joshua (Ashanti) Welton McLean: A TIM who—along with a male accomplice—trafficked a 17-year-old homeless girl into prostitution.

Michael Arthur Weil: A TIM who molested and sexually abused a child from 2007 to 2008, when the child was four to six years old. During this time, Weil was still on probation for raping and making indecent images of a seven-year-old. Weil began identifying as a woman in November 2019.

Miguel (Michelle) Martinez: A TIM who attacked and sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl in the bathroom inside the girl’s home.

Rory Francis (Laken McKay): A TIM child sex offender who told corrections authorities that if they didn’t keep him in prison, he would “give as many people HIV and Hep C as possible.” Francis was sentenced to 15 months in 2005 for sexually assaulting a seven-year-old boy. Five years later, Francis was sentenced to nine years and four months for sexual offenses against two children, a girl and a boy.

Jeffrey (Ciara) McEleveen: A TIM who—along with a male accomplice—kidnapped and raped a man. McEleveen had approached the man’s vehicle and held a knife to the man’s neck while the accomplice climbed into the front seat. The pair drove him to an ATM to force him to withdraw cash before driving to another location to purchase drugs. Police reports show that the assailants forced the man to perform various sex acts.

Richard Graham: A TIM who—along with a male accomplice—was convicted of the tag-team rapes of as many as 30 men. The duo confessed to using the area around a homeless shelter as a hunting ground for frail men battling homelessness and addiction to drugs and alcohol. 

Christopher (Claire) Darbyshire: A TIM who broke into his female boss’s home, dressed himself up in items of her clothing, and ‘soiled’ himself while wearing her underwear. Darbyshire later went on to murder his 67-year-old father.

Mark Conway: A transvestite who broke into a 60-year-old woman’s home and attacked her as she slept. He bound and gagged her with gaffer tape and cable ties before raping her over a five hour period. He went on the run following the attack. 

Roger Spackman: A transvestite convicted in June 2020 of possessing an indecent image of a child, possessing images depicting a sexual act with an animal, and three counts of making an indecent image of a child. There were 290,672 indecent images—including Category A images —found on 68 electronic devices in Spackman’s home, and he was identified as a member of an online chatroom for pedophiles. He began downloading the images in 2008 during his 10 years working full time in a secure children’s home. Between 2007 and 2010, Spackman was Branch Secretary of the Devon County Council branch of UNISON, the public service union. He also chaired Exeter Labour Group between 2010 and 2014. He had worked for Devon’s child protection services for 12 years and was a Labour councillor during his arrest in 2017. 

Paul Reed: A crossdresser with a record of nearly 40 offenses, many of which are sex crimes. Reed was first given a Sexual Offenses Prevention Order in 2007 after sexually abusing an underage girl. The order initially barred Reed from crossdressing, but has since been relaxed so that he can wear women’s clothing so long as he does not approach, communicate with, or touch female strangers while doing so. Reed has repeatedly breached that order. He wraps himself in many layers of clothing in order to disguise himself as an elderly woman. Using his disguise, Reed has molested women on the bus, chatted with underage girls, fondled women around shopping centers, and routinely lurked outside of a local hospital to capture the attention of sympathetic nurses. Starting in 2009, Reed served three years in prison for luring a 14-year-old girl—who believed him to be an elderly woman—into his car. Quickly after his 2012 release, Reed was brought before a judge for his 15th breach of the order. In April 2019, he pleaded guilty to two sexual assaults—which occurred in November and December 2018—and nine additional breaches of the Sexual Offenses Prevention Order. Reed now considers himself a transvestite. 

Jacob Davidson: A crossdresser who stole 57 pairs of underwear from female university students at St. Edwards University.

Mark Brown: A crossdresser who stalked and raped an 18-year-old girl. Wearing a bra, a silver wig, and a black minidress, Brown pursued the girl on foot for about 0.3 miles. When the girl arrived at her door, Brown attacked her from behind and raped her.

Andrew Clyde Swofford: A crossdresser who hid inside the closet of a 20-year-old female college student and dressed himself up in items of her clothing. He took underwear and clothing from the woman’s dresser while she wasn’t home and stored it in his book bag.

David L. Khollman: A crossdresser with a 26-year pattern of breaking into women’s homes to steal their underwear. He was charged with one felony (Residential Burglary) and two misdemeanors (Criminal Trespass To Residence and Disorderly Conduct) after a security camera captured him entering a Beachside home through a bedroom window. 

Qasim Anwar: A transvestite taxi driver convicted of raping a drunk woman in the back of his car.

Josiah (Lucy) Blackplume: A TIM who attempted to rape two women near the University of Saskatchewan. He’d also attacked and attempted to rape a female jogger at Meewasin Trail.

Michelle Winter: A TIM who attacked and brutally raped a woman. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Robert Clothier: A drag queen who made an arrangement to meet up with a man to have sex with him and rape his two children, who were 8 and 11 years old. The meetup was a sting operation set up by police, and Clothier was arrested. When police raided Clothier’s home after the arrest, they found child pornography in his possession. In a series of online chats, Clothier confessed to having “naughty thoughts” about his own nieces and nephews. He was jailed for only 26 months.

Albert Garza (Tatiana Mala Niña): A registered child sex offender who participated in ‘Drag Queen Storytime’ at the Houston Public Library, performing as drag queen ‘Tatiana Mala Niña’. Garza was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of an eight-year-old child in 2009. He received just five years of probation and community supervision.

Other cases of TIMs murdering women and girls (besides the ones that have already been mentioned above):

Synthia China Blast: A TIM who raped, tortured, and murdered a 13-year-old girl. He bragged about the crime to friends, and he smirked throughout his trial in court. Blast is openly anti-black, and he had targeted the young girl for sexual torture and murder not only because of her sex, but also because of her skin color.

Steven Hayes: A man who—along with a male accomplice—broke into the home of the Petit family (a couple with two daughters). They beat Mr. Petit in the head with a baseball bat and left him bound in the basement. One of the men then forced Mrs. Petit to go to the bank and withdraw cash. Once back at the house, the men raped Mrs. Petit and her 11-year-old daughter. When Hayes saw the police pulling up to the home, he strangled Mrs. Petit to death. After tying the two daughters to their beds, the men doused them in gasoline and then proceeded to set the house on fire. While in prison, Hayes began identifying as a woman.

Richard Speck: Speck was a serial rapist, mass murderer, and intimate partner abuser. All of his victims were female. He was the very first man to ‘transition’ while in a United States prison.

Wolfgang (Beate) Schmidt: Schmidt was a serial rapist-murderer who began crossdressing for sexual pleasure when he was a child. On the evening of October 24, 1989, Schmidt broke into the home of 51-year-old Edeltraut Nixdorf and her husband. He stole her underwear and a bikini before he found her in the garden and strangled her to death. Seven months later, Schmidt raped and murdered 45-year-old Christa Naujoks. On March 13th, 1991, Schmidt encountered 34-year-old Inge Borkheide in the forest as she was walking from a friend’s home. He delivered a kick to her face before raping her and stabbing her to death. On March 22, Schmidt spotted 44-year-old Tamara Petrowskaja in the woods pushing her three-month-old son in a stroller. Schmidt grabbed the infant and beat it to death against a tree. He then strangled Petrowskaja to death. On April 5th, Schmidt saw two 12-year-old girls in a wooded area near a church, and he attempted to grab one. Miraculously, the girls fought him off and escaped, receiving stab wounds in the process. The girls provided a description of him to the police, who drew a composite sketch. That same evening, Schmidt killed 66-year-old Talita Bremer while she was asleep in her home, and he raped her corpse. On August 1 of that year, two male joggers came across Schmidt masturbating while wearing a bra. Noticing he matched the police sketch, they detained him and brought him to police. While in prison, Schmidt began identifying as a woman. In 2001, the court granted his petition to be addressed as female. In 2009, he was permitted to begin taking estrogen.

Roderick Deakin-White: A TIM who brutally murdered a woman by bludgeoning her with a metal bar as she was defenseless in the shower. She took more than 30 minutes to die in the bathtub after he left her flat. 

Kyle Lockwood (Kayleigh-Louise Woods): A TIM who—along with his accomplice Jack Williams—tortured and brutally murdered his 20-year-old female flatmate. 

Colon Coates: A transvestite who—along with his accomplice Philip Wade—kidnapped, tortured, and murdered a 27-year-old woman. 

Michael Chidgey: A TIM sentenced to life in prison for the sexually-motivated murder of a 17-year-old girl. He was convicted of attempted rape in 1983, and he also had 10 convictions for indecent exposure between 1972 and 1974.

William (Gillian) Jaggs: A transvestite convicted of the sexually-motivated murder of a 25-year-old woman. Jaggs forced his way into the woman’s house in September 2006 and attacked her with a pair of scissors, stabbing her 66 times.

Jonathan (Lorena) de Jesús Robaina Santana: A man who brutally murdered his 21-year-old female cousin after developing a sexual obsession with her. Following his arrest, Santana began identifying as a woman.

Jonathan Kyle Binney (Taylor Alex Cross): A man who raped his infant daughter, causing her severe internal injuries. Shortly afterwards, Binney shot and murdered a 39-year-old woman. He now identifies as a woman.

Shawn Vincent (Shayla Angeline Boniello): A TIM who violently killed a 20-month-old girl he was babysitting. Vincent had punched, beaten, and squeezed the baby until several bones broke. Vincent admitted to attacking the infant out of ‘frustration.’

Carmen Guerrero: A TIM who repeatedly stabbed his girlfriend following a domestic dispute. She died of her injuries at the hospital.

Jordan (Sora) Kuykendall: A man who stabbed his teenage ex-girlfriend to death shortly after she broke up with him. Kuykendall had also physically abused her throughout their entire relationship. While incarcerated, Kuykendall began identifying as a woman. 

Khaled (Zahra) Farhan: A TIM who was dubbed the ‘Butcher of Gatineau’ after murdering and dismembering his girlfriend, Karina Janveau. Farnham had initially left Janveau’s body to rot in their basement apartment. After neighbors started complaining about the smell, Farhan cut up her body with a kitchen knife, then dumped half of her body in a dumpster a few meters from their apartment and the other half a few hundred meters away. He was sentenced to prison in 2000. In January 2019, he was granted parole. Now, Farhan says he wants to live a “quiet life as a transgender woman.”

Reginald (Regina) Arthurell: A crossdressing serial killer who brutally murdered his fiancée and then took a photo of himself wearing her dress. While incarcerated, Arthurell began identifying as a woman. 

TRA violence and harassment against women:

TRAs vandalize Vancouver Rape Relief (VRR): On August 27, 2019, volunteers and staff at Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter arrived to find various threats scrawled across the shelter’s windows. A few days earlier, staff had found a dead rat nailed to the door. A few months prior, they had found a dead animal shoved into the mail slot. These attacks came as a result of VRR’s refusal to allow a male to volunteer for one-on-one counseling with victims of male violence/rape/abuse. Please see this post to learn more.

Two TIMs physically attack lesbian protesters at Paris Pride event.

TRAs physically attack gender critical women at a peaceful demonstration for women’s rights. One woman was taken to the hospital for her injuries.

TRAs verbally and physically harass women protesting naked man in women’s spa: On June 24, a woman uploaded a video of herself confronting spa staff over the presence of a naked man in an area of the spa that clients were told was reserved for women and girls. The spa defended its policy, leading grassroots women’s rights activists to organize an ‘Anti-Pervert Protest’ outside the spa on Saturday, July 3. SoCalAntifa staged a ‘No Bigotry in L.A.’ counterprotest against the women. In one of several videos capturing the day of the protest, a group of TRAs are seen pursuing a lone woman down the street, verbally harassing her. In another video, a different woman is surrounded, shoved, doused with water, verbally harassed, and chased across the middle of a busy street by TRAs.

TRAs show up to counterprotest feminist protest against rape culture.

Mob of TRAs shows up to protest Labour Women’s Declaration rally: On a Monday night in London, England, women attending a Labour Women’s Declaration rally were harassed by a mob of masked TRAs, one of whom had his penis exposed, shouting abuse and misogynistic slurs. The location of the rally was kept secret until just hours before its start, but TRAs still managed to show up to threaten and intimidate attendees. They filmed and verbally harassed women entering the venue, demanding them to state their names and addresses. The TRAs also released smoke grenades outside of the venue.

Mob of TRAs verbally and physically harasses women at Woman’s Place UK gathering: On September 23, 2019, a mob of TRAs verbally and physically harassed women attending a Woman’s Place UK (WPUK) gathering. The TRAs loudly chanted “WPUK is a hate group” and banged on the windows of the building throughout the meeting in an attempt to drown out the speakers. They also shouted physical abuse at women entering the venue. Some attendees were grabbed and/or handled roughly, and two women had water thrown at them. As two disabled women tried to exit the meeting, TRAs obstructed their path and harassed them. Journalist Julie Bindel, who attended the event, reported that the male police officers standing along the front of the building did nothing to interfere.

what this doesn’t mean:

gender is a spectrum, there are thousands of genders, everyone can identify with their own ‘inherent’ gender regardless of their biological sex

what this does mean

gender has been constructed by society in an exact binary that matches up with biological sex, so there are two genders because that’s all that have been constructed. it doesn’t work as a spectrum

gender varies according to time and place (the way a woman would be socialised in medieval england is different to how she would be treated in modern south korea, for example) so nothing about it is biological

babies aren’t born as a gender or a mix of genders. they’re born with a biological sex and then socialised accordingly. female babies do not come out of the womb submissive and feminine. this work is done during their lifetime through parents, teachers, early social interactions, media ideals, etc. so nothing about gender is inherent, it’s a set of learned behaviours
