As a note: I don't tend to mind too terribly much if I'm missing a little context for a story I'm reading, so don't feel obligated to recommend all origin stories lmao.

prefacing this by saying i have only read a couple comics bc i don't have the energy and usually read other people's reviews/breakdowns and stuff

that being said here's a very short list that's mostly bat stuff bc that's my niche. also, this site is really good for reading any comic with a low amount of ads

Robin: Son of Batman is an absolute must. top priority

also Damian's ongoing solo - Robin (2021) is a banger so far

Young Justice (1998) is also a top priority thing

Under the Red Hood is, of course, a staple

Superboy (1994) is great bc Kon, but it's also kind of hard to read sometimes bc of his questionable 'relationships'

Robin (1993) is Tim's solo and it's pretty good! it's also a great read bc it whacks a lot of misconceptions abt Tim and his life right out of the park as you read

from what i've read so far, Batgirl (2000) is also great

I have heard amazing things about Mark Waid's Flash comics, though I haven't had a chance to read them yet. I've read a bit of Geoff Johns Flash, and it's pretty good! Also the current Flash comics are really great as well!

Batgirl vol 3(2009)!!!! Steph as Batgirl is literally what made me decide I don't hate Batgirl and everything she stands for but that's a long story. She!! Is amazing!!!

Justice League International is hilarious from what I've read so far

The beginning of Nightwing(1996) is a favorite of mine? Love seeing him being so competent and independent while still caring about his family<3

Aquaman:The Becoming is a recent mini that I really liked! Though I will admit that I don't know a lot about the aquafam so I can't say how well it fits the characters, it was an entertaining read

Batman: The Long Halloween. This is one of those big famous comics that's. Actually worth the hype! I was shocked but it's a big favorite of mine

Kingdom Come is another famous book that's so fascinating.
