365 DC Comics Heroes & Villains Paper Cut-Outs
Lucas Trent was a young soldier recruited into a secretive military program that aimed toward creating enhanced combatants. To this end, Trent endured a terrible procession of procedures and surgeries and it is assumed that he was the only to survive the ordeal. As a result, Trent was bestowed superhuman speed, strength and reflexes as well as an augmented immune system and the ability to rapidly heal from severe injury.
Taking on the codename ‘Midnighter’ Trent was assigned into the special operations task force known as Stormwatch. He woulds later became a member of the elite team of heroes known as The Authority. During his time with these teams, Midnighter fosters a close romance with his teammate Apollo. Shortly after the formation of The Authority, Midnighter and Apollo are married.
Following the Nu52 DC reboot wherein many of the Wildstorm characters were incorporated into the DC Universe, Midnight resurfaced as a secret agent tracking the operations of the shadowy organization called Spyral. To this end Midnighter became an adversary and then ally of Dick Grayson (during Grayson’s time as Agent 39).
When Grayson resumed his identity as Nightwing, Midnighter remained a friend and colleague to him and the extended Batman Family. He also embarked on a mission to track down and recover specialized weapons that had been stolen by the villainous Prometheus.
In the DC universe, Midnighter is younger than he was int he Wildstorm Universe, and not yet married to Apollo. The pair had broken up yet got back together following an adventure where Midnighter had to travel to a hell-like dimension to save Apollo. More recently, Midnighter accepted a request on the part of Superman to be a part of a new Authority squad.
The hero first appeared in Stormwatch Vol. 2 #4 (1998); his first appearance in the DC Comics Universe was in the pages of Flashpoint Vol 2 #5 (2011).
