i knew that fitz and the fool were a bit of a Thing from before i even started the series, because i’ve had a tumblr account for 12 years, but i was viewing it with pretty even keeled neutrality through a lot of the farseer trilogy. mostly just cause i know that this website will make the boys kiss at every single cost and also i really quite like Molly.
like, sure, fitz is cagey about the fool, he hangs out with the guy a lot more than he lets on, and he is already such a wily little cunt you just never know what rabbit trail he’s going to follow. anything is possible!
and sure, every now and then they’ll have a scene so intimate and romantic it throws you completely for a loop, and then fitz will cheerfully go back to not telling you SHIT about squat about the whole thing.

obviously like maybe the most romantic couple pages i’ve ever read HOWEVER also brought to mind the fact that fitz hasn’t brought that fucker up even one little time this whole fucking book. you’re telling me he pined over literally every other single person he knew but never even in passing wondered about how the fool was doing?? missed him??? the fool says i thought you were dead and my life was OVER my fate is tied to YOURS and im HAPPY about it. and fitz just crawled back to him half dead and stared longingly at him in the firelight and was so overcome by how beautiful he was and how much he missed him that he can’t speak for like half a page. you NEVER thought about him??? this guy???? this guy who’s flashing gold eyes take your breath away?????
