mira, always the tallest amongst her peers, feeding off of the sheer power of her height, feeling like the coolest kid for the longest time. and to combine her height with her glare? she was the boss, no questions asked.

and then she gets scooped up by celine and meets a girl who is shorter than her (nothing weird there) and meets another girl who is... taller? maybe not by much, but by enough that every time mira wins a sparring match, or a board game, or doesn't finish eating her dinner first (everything is a race in that household, competitiveness is nutured to the absolute maximum)—rumi pulls the "i'm taller" height card. and it doesn't even matter that mira won because, in spirit, she lost.

Mira: "Two Celines!?"

Zoey: "Is this heaven? I read a fic that was like this once."

Rumi: "Ew, Zoey. Why. Clearly one's a demon."

Mira: "Yeah but which one?"

Demon Imposter: "She is! Kill it! Obviously I'm the real Celine!"

Celine: "Oh really? Wonderful. Here."

*grabs a heavy folder out her bag and smacks the Demon in their face*

Celine: "These are the latest talents. Be sure to read through them carefully before signing anything. Oh and the PR reports because Zoey's last internet rant caused quite a stir. They're losing their shit. Even Bobby started crying. Have fun!"

*walks pass everyone and throws herself on Huntrix's couch, grabs Zoey's plush turtle, puts it on her face and immediately passes out.*

Not everyone's relationship is as simple as a bouquet of flowers on a holiday. Sometimes thorns prick your fingers. Sometimes dead blossoms have to be trimmed. Sometimes, no matter how much sunlight and water and soil you try to give a plant, it wilts anyway.
