Fenris insists on a more egalitarian structure, but there remains an alpha to lead the other wolves. There has to be one person to have the final say, to stop the buck. And though he doesn't demand any special treatment or respect, the wolves find they naturally want to call him "sir", at least when he's fucking them. It's an organic and willing exclamation of genuine reverence. Being the alpha may be privileged, but it's not easy, and a good alpha in a healthy pack will find his brothers appreciate his efforts.
