just heard about lindsey graham. I don't know what to say. every interaction I had with him, he was a veritable ray of sunshine. I still remember sitting by the lake, tracing reeds across the water's surface and promising that those beautiful days of summer would last forever
hard cider was invented when someone decided to make beer that tastes good instead of bad
stupid fuckin post. People have been making beer since before they even knew how to write and you think that they don’t like the way it tastes?
damn all that time and it still tastes really bad. huge L tbh
it's literally all about having a primary public gender and a secondary personal gender
favourite bird/s?
Goldfinch! They're like dandelions--they're so ordinary and magical--incredibly vibrant and pop up everywhere--I love watching them come to eat seeds off our sunflowers and purple coneflowers. Also the way they fly is hilarious <3

Last song: The song I've listened to most regularly and frequently is actually Youngest Child's favorite song—they like to climb on me when I'm lying on the couch reading in the evening and request it. This link in particular: https://youtu.be/JH3mYQaSA7I
It's actually delightful as fuck so I'm not even bothered.
Favourite colour: I don't know that I have a single favorite color, but I do have favorite combinations: crimson + teal and golden yellow + sky blue
Currently watching: I'm generally terrible at watching things on screens so nothing right now
Currently Reading: How to Build a Haunted House by Caitlin Blackwell Baines. I don't read a lot of nonfiction, and when I do it's usually about nature stuff, but this one was out on the library's new books shelf and it looks really interesting and right up my alley (I'm only a couple dozen pages in so far)—it's about the Western concept of the haunted house from a folklore perspective. May or may not be taking notes so I can maximize the creepiness factor for future writing projects/dnd campaigns :)
Current obsession: I'm kind of in-between obsessions at the moment—I don't think I have the emotional energy (currently spending it on some personal stuff). I've been rereading some low-stress favorites though (Cat Sebastian, the Tithenai chronicles, Lee Welch, probably some KJ Charles next, and going back through my ao3 bookmarks for some gen hurt/comfort).
Currently working on: Getting back into a yoga habit (have already complained about this, but the year I turned forty was not the year to be like, eh, I'm really busy and I walk plenty—I don't need to also be making time for yoga—my hip joints are pissed at me) and wrestling with another piece of original fiction in which the protagonist never seems to register that the reader probably thinks of this story as horror. Someday I'll set up a separate tumblr account for my published stuff (I promise I'm not a famous—or even an actual professional or particularly prolific—author, but my real name is on my non-ao3 publications and I feel weird about it)
Coffee or Tea: Coffee before lunch, tea after

Very reasonable desire! There was a place just like this near my house alongside the stairs down to the canal--it was because no one wants to drag a bike or stroller down the stairs to get to the canal path.
They eventually rebuilt that area in a much more accessible way :)
really and truly this nyt headline reads to me like an invitation

problematic rage gap. one partner tries to bring nuance and understanding to a tough situation. the other wants to blow up the earth about it.
