peak liberalism is asking the consumer class to ‘go green’, recycle, and turn off their lights for an hour each year to save the planet instead of telling the agricultural/oil industry and multi-billion corporations to cut out 99% of the shit they’re pulling every single hour of every day

Ok no this answer pisses me off. Seriously the main issue is not is little folk not recycling our cans. Yes, practicing green habits as a consumer helps, but the overwhelming majority of the issue is caused by large corporations. There are SO MANY options for green energy we could effectively be using solar or wind energy for the majority of production purposes. We could have tighter regulations on overall waste to reduce damage to the environment. We could make transitions to more sustainable options for fuel and put those in easier reach of the consumer as well as large transportation companies. (Cars running on vegetable oils or electricity, more infrastructure to have travel by electric trains, anything there are so many options that we just. Ignore.) so yeah go for it tell Ann down the road that she’s killing the environment for not driving her recyclables TWO FUCKING HOURS to the damn recycling plant every other weak while big oil and companies that sell NECESSITIES like clean/fresh water (looking at you, nestle) do whatever they want to shove billions more in there pocket.
