it's game night and lena's maybe had a little too much wine and kara's also tipsy on aldebaran rum. lena gets up off the couch to pee and stumbles a little, twisted in blankets and falling to her knees to the carpet, soft hair falling around her face.
kara immediately leaps up, hands fluttering about with worry.
"oh nooo," she slurs, "oh NO! lena you need to drink some waaadder."
lena looks up at her, uselessly attempting to blow the hair out of her face as she works to untangle the throw blanket from her legs. "'m fine, kara. need to pee."
"nononono," kara pouts, carefully (clumsily) brushing lena's hair out of her face and gathering it behind her head in a loose ponytail, her hand functioning as the hairtie. "no, y'need to drink water, it's import'nt."
"'import'nt,'" lena giggles, cheeks rosy pink, nose scrunching, tongue peeking out between her teeth.
kara feels her heart do A Thing and smacks around on the coffee table for her water bottle, miraculously wrapping her hand around it instead of accidentally batting it across the room.
"water," she mumbles, again, for no other reason than to keep her mouth occupied as she stares at lena's.
the lid of her bottle magically disappears, or is already off, or something, and in the next moment she's carefully pressing the bottle to lena's lower lip and beginning to pour the water for her.
there's a charged moment as lena opens her mouth, eyes wide and pupils round and cheeks pink. another as she obediently swallows again, and again, and again. a third when kara pulls the water bottle away with a shaky exhale and lena reaches up to wipe her mouth against the back of her hand.
"good," kara says, something like the power of ten thousand yellow suns thrumming below her skin. "good girl."
lena makes a sort of strangled whimper, teeth sinking into her soft, wet lip as she kneels in front of kara.
"uh," a voice says, cutting in through the hazy fog of kara's brain. "so, are you gonna let her pee, or...?"
kara whips her head up, eyes focusing a second late on alex, who keeps looking between them with a pinched look on her face as kelly laughs silently into her shoulder. next to them, nia has a knuckle stuffed into her mouth, a big, gleeful grin lighting her eyes up. brainy simply shoots kara a thumbs up before returning to his pictionary drawing.
"oh. yeah," kara says, looking back down at lena and releasing her hair. "'m sorry."
lena shakes her head, licking out at her lips as she uses the couch arm to heave herself to her feet. she wobbles slightly, but kara steadies her with a hand on her waist.
"thank you," lena whispers, before drifting off towards the bathroom.
there's a beat of silence, then alex's voice again.
"okay, what the fuck was that?"
