My biggest fantasy as a disabled person probably isn’t even being cured. It’s just belonging. It’s living somewhere that respects and accommodates the body that I literally cannot change. It’s having friends and family who support me, and who try to understand me, because they love me. It’s never feeling like I’m useless or a waste of space. It’s having friends who can understand my limits and don’t get upset with me when I’ve reached them. It’s having accessible and affordable healthcare no matter what. It’s having a livable amount of money, no matter my ability to produce in this world the way abled bodies can. It’s having the bare minimum.
