the great pumpkin waltz by vince guaraldi is probably one of the best little tunes out there. so sad and nostalgic but so warm and comforting at once. it is autumn. it is a childhood you can’t get back. it is patched denim and shortening days. it’s your old pets. it’s the smell of crumpling old leaves. and it was written for a children’s television program in the 60s.

If you want to “shock your audience” maybe you should just try writing a good story.

nobody talks about how exhausting it is to live in that space between "things will get better" and "i can't handle this anymore." it's like your emotions are constantly swinging. leaving you both hopeful and defeated in the same day.
