CW: anti-Asian racism, ableism, allegations, suicide
I want to make this post to give (what I hope) is some context to how bigoted, ignorant, dangerous, and reckless the people spearheading these constant "leaks" about Hudson are. By now it seems that most people are well aware that these people are not doing this because they genuinely care about the things they are accusing Hudson of. They not "exposing" Hudson because they care about the marginalized groups they're framing him of being harmful towards. That they're racist is the sole reason for their relentless attacks against Hudson. And I say that these people are dangerous and reckless because they're doing all of this in the name of stan wars, completely ignoring how harmful it is that they're constantly exposing fans to their bigotry. And completely ignoring that they're setting up a precedence where due to their pattern of behavior, they're the reason why Hudson fans are growing more and more skeptical whenever something comes out. And this is dangerous because it seems now their next move is to frame Hudson for sexual assault. I will come back to this point later in this post, first I want to provide the aforementioned context.
After IG-gate, it became much more clear to people that weren't on hrtwt that those who hate Hudson have an active agenda against him. And with what's happened yesterday (and continues today), this agenda is becoming even more apparent. I want to provide some background as to why some of us who were on twitter since the show aired were initially skeptical about the IG account accusations against Hudson that come from those who hate him. And it goes back to this account:
For context, this account spawned in the midst of letterbox gate and its entire purpose was to create racist hate tweets about Hudson (some were so vile they were actually banned in the European countries) and rally people to engage in the hate train. After months (literally months) of organized effort from Hudson fans, we managed to finally get this account suspended permanently. But plenty of its 6k followers still remain, and despite the absolute bigotry spread by this account, those followers lament its suspension. Here are examples of the sort of tweets those who miss this account make.
This isn't even the tip of the iceberg to what kind of tweets that account was making or what its most prominent followers were saying (and continue to say) about Hudson. In February, this thread came out exposing the groupchat created by this account and its followers. This chat was filled with people espousing the same vitriolic racist hate that they were also tweeting on their public accounts. When they were aptly called racist, they acted shock and proceed to justify their racist tweets by playing the percentage game with Hudson's Asian heritage and trying to diminish that he is half Korean.
They claim to only make fun of his 'white features' meanwhile we have screenshots of the types of tweets 'dudsonender' and its followers were was making.
My whole point in showing all of this first is to show that they only hate Hudson this much because they're racist. That is the basis for all their actions. They hate that he wasn't regulated to being just a nobody stuck in Canada, constantly praying and hoping that he would be a "khia" whose 15 minutes of fame would be over.
They hate that he has a supportive fanbase, and they hate that this fans will support his career. That's why they were planning to infiltrate communities and group chats of Hudson fans (I highlighted the date because this goes as far back as January. The last episode of the show aired on December 26. They were doing this barely 3 months after learning about Hudson's existence). Which is why their latest smear attempt(s) have been more so aimed at hurting Hudson's fans than Hudson himself. They want to make his fan abandon him, and if they won't, then they want it to seem like we're nothing more than homophobic straight women with "fujo brains". To give Hudson fans a "bad rep".
It was through this gc leak that we learned that people in this chat were planning to frame Hudson of, so far, everything we've seen him be accused of. They "feel" like Husdon is bad person and in the same breath they're admitting to wanting to frame him. And this is why when IG-gate happened, you had fans who were immediately skeptical. Because since February, we've been aware of what these people were discussing.
And this pattern of people "feeling" that Hudson is xyz, followed by a 'leak' that confirms their "feeling" is nothing new. I'm not saying that everyone who was in that groupchat are exactly the same ones that have been behind the most recent leaks, though there are some overlap. For example, one of the accounts who first posted screenshots of IG gate (loustatschild) also had a groupchat leak back in April where they talking about wanting Hudson to commit suicide and for his girlfriend to poising his drink.
And there's more screenshots showing accounts with large followings that are still up and still spreading hate and misinformation about Hudson either followed and/or were mutuals with dudsonender but this post is already getting too long.
The point is, the pattern in the dudsonender gc of people having a "feeling" that Hudson is a bigot is something we continue to see from others (and their entire account seem to also be dedicated to hating Hudson). Just yesterday, we got an update on the "feeling" people have had about Hudson being homophobic (mirroring those in the dudsonender gc leak who also had a similar "feeling", because they felt that Hudsons "definitely did" mock gay and lesbians kids in high school).
And like I said, the basis for these people doing all of this is that they're racist. User "starflosn" going on about "just be patient" for a video that will supposedly expose Hudson as a homophobe thought just because they changed their @ that we wouldn't remember that their racist tweets towards Hudson's Asian fans. And yet they have the audacity to preach about racism.
Note the date on the first two tweets about something coming out that will prove Hudson as a homophobe. Both were after IG-gate didn't go the way they wanted. The Friday that Hudson's Bvlgari ad dropped, this is what they had to say once they saw his engagement was still high. "Until we find some genuine dirt on Hudson...he'll continue to get away with it". And now compare that to the tweet made by one of the many burner accounts they created to post that photo of him from high school. "Looks like my work here is done" followed with a reply of someone saying "let's hope it works this time".
Some of us see all of this and people question why we're skeptics. But this brings me back to why this pattern which exposes that these people clearly having an agenda is dangerous. Today, I was sent links about this account on Threads replying to several people about rape allegations. Notice how their language mirrors the one of the accounts above who all had "feelings" that Hudson.
I hope I don't have to spell out what's dangerous about this. I hope I don't have to make it explicitly clear why it's absolutely reckless and ignorant to 1. taunt this allegation by saying "y'all not ready" and "it's gonna come just be patient" and 2. to do this after priming Hudson fans to be skeptical about information that comes from the same people that have been hating Hudson for months and have an agenda. I hope we can all understand that this person clearly does not care about rape or about survivors. Because what does this do besides actually making it worse for someone to speak out. It's not like we live in a society that already primes people to immediately dismissed survivors, accused of them of lying/fabrication, and gaslight them to hell about their accounts of assault right? I'm hoping that we can all see how vile it is to treat rape allegations like it's just gossip. Like it's just more fodder to user in stan wars.
The replies from that Threads' account are already bad on their own, it's made especially worse when talks of people paying to have Hudson accused of sexual assault has been circulating since February. The accounts that were named as the ones planning this have gone one to deny it but the damage was already done. This came out after the dudsonender gc leak showed people saying they needed to frame Hudson for "something awful" so of course people believed that plans were being made to pay to frame him for something awful.
And remember that I said those who followed dudsonender will publicly say that they miss that account and still make their own bigoted tweets. Well this Threads account was a Dudsonender follower. According to them, the same account that had a groupchat where people were conspiring to frame Hudson for something awful was the "best thing that happened on twitter".
And please pay attention to the language they're using as they talk about rape allegations. "I said months ago that he will be accused of racist and homophobia then months later he was". Well yeah he was accused (and this post shows that these are things people had "feelings" about since February) and people found those accusations had no basis. So the only thing this account was right about was the accusations being made, not that the accusations were actually true. So exactly what do they expect people to think about this new allegations that they're talking about? What does this accomplish other than show that these people, once again, have no actual regard for what they're accusing Hudson of. Who would seriously think that this person cares about survivors?
And now that they've been caught, they're trying to backtrack. Claiming that they don't want anyone to be raped and they weren't wishing Hudson any harm but were insisting people to "mark their words" and that these accusations were going to come, we just need to be patient. Right.
And this post has already gotten long enough but I want you to note how the Threads account claims to care about racism, even though they were praising Dudsonender (reminder that some of their tweets were banned in the EU). This is the same denial that we saw in the dudsonender gc leak where the people there were shocked that they were being called racists. And then promptly went on to deny that Hudson is in fact half-Asian (not 15%, not 20%, and him not speaking Korean (to their knowledge) doesn't erase the fact that he is half Korean). And this is the same as that user that was calling his Asian fans the c-slur but claiming that 'hudcels' were the racist ones. Do we see the other emerging pattern here? All these people are racist, they've said racist things, they've supported racist account, and yet they all deny the fact that they are racist. According to them, they're being racist towards Hudson because they care about racism.
People keep asking why are they doing? 7 months later and why can't they just leave Hudson alone. They. Are. Racist. That's the reason behind all of this. And no matter how hard they deny it, no matter how many times they want to claim that Hudson is a white man, that doesn't change the fact that these people are racist. And that's the reason why they've been targeting the only non-white lead actor of this show.
