It was stupid and it was reckless and you knew that. But for Shanks? Anything. 

In the heat of the moment you took a bullet meant for your captain, and even now as you lay wounded and fatigued, you still have yet to regret a thing. Hell, you’d probably do it again. 

You woke up, head pounding as your eyes scanned the surround area. A wave of relief washed over you upon noticing familiar decor and warm wood panels. You were back on the Red Force, in the sanctity of your own bunk. 

A light cough caught your attention and your eyes fell to the door where Shanks leaned, resting against the frame, staring at you. He didn’t look angry per say but unpleasantry was written on his face. 

You were racking your mind, trying to think of something- anything to say. Something that might ease both his mind and his sour gaze. 

You tried opening your mouth hoping the words would find you on their way out, but he just shushed you.

Love makes people do crazy things and maybe you panicked, but he won’t entertain whatever reason you had. He didn’t blame you, of course. How could he? It wasn’t your fault. For fucks sake, right now Shanks blamed everyone but you. The enemy, the word, himself. 

Letting out a deep chested sigh, Shanks slowly made his way you to your side, his gaze softening in the process. “it doesn’t matter. Whatever you had say, whatever excuses you were going to make,” he paused, moving a strand of hair away from your sweat deluged forehead. “it doesn’t matter. I owe you my life and I am lucky to have someone like you by my side. But my sweet girl, you must understand how reckless that was. I'd rather get myself shot than have you bedridden in exchange for my safety.”

Smiling tight-lipped, you nod saying. “I can’t promise it won’t happen again. Not unless you can promise to stop getting yourself into such compromising situations.”

Shanks almost laughs, and you frown. “I’m being serious, Shanks. Surprisingly I have yet figure out what exactly it is about you that provokes others to start shooting, but it needs to stop.”

But his smirk only grows. Reaching down he touches your face, caressing it gently and turning it to the side. His thumb running down a fresh bruise as he tuts, not at you, but at the situation. “I’ll try my best, but you know as well I, if someone else starts it then that’s out of my control.” His smirk turns to a smile as he presses a quick kiss to the top of your head. You let out a hum in response, leaning into his touch. 

Buggy, is an enigma. He is admittedly unstable as fuck, but always tries to keep it together for you.

A lethal combination of possessive and touch starved, rolled into a hubristic ball. The result of such a diverse set of traits? He is extremely affectionate and almost never lets you go. 

In his mind, he must always be touching you in some way or another. Wether his arm be slagged around your shoulders or his fingers intertwined in your own.

Sometimes when you, in his words, “leave him like gutter trash for the straw hats” he’ll offer to let you take a piece of him with you. wink wink. Obviously you decline, leaving him whole yet broken without your presence.

However this doesn’t mean Buggy is afraid of using his Chop Chop abilities to his advantage. It's far from uncommon to suddenly find Buggy’s detached hand locking your fingers in a tight embrace.

Once attached they are near impossible to remove. Have daily tasks that must be attended? To bad, your hand will be spoken for, for hours to come.

And God forbid you find yourselves separated for an extended period of time. 

His over exaggerated despair knows no bonds. After months of the crew hearing their captain try and pass you off as simply another incessant straw hat, his true feelings are exposed to them in the most dramatic of manors. He will sulk and mope until you are back in his embrace.

This being said, he can’t stand the idea of you angry with him. More often then not being the root cause of any problems your relationship may face, Buggy never lets things escalate beyond the occasional silent treatment. 

When he is given the silent treatment, Buggy may first attempt to gain your forgiveness without a verbal apology. He'll smoother you with his affection, try to make you laugh, leave small gifts in elaborate places, anything to earn your forgiveness without verbally admitting his wrong-doings.
