and that was to finally approach you. a regular passerby who never visits his shop. 

yeosang feels his pulse rate increase unconsciously when he looks at his watch. but that did not win against the way his heart beat skyrockets when he finally stops you on your track, “excuse me,” his voice shaky before you turn around, eyes shining looking at the cute booth set up as the sweet scent of flowers welcome you. your eyes then trail from the red rose held in the stranger’s hands to his face. “we’re giving away free flowers today,” yeosang finally says, relief that he sounds less nervous now. the stretch of his turtleneck didn’t do a good job at masking the bashful smile playing on his lips and the red tint that spreads across his cheeks is obvious to you.

and it brings a smile to your face and you wonder how is it possible to find a stranger so adorable in the span of two minutes of meeting him, “oh-thank you,” you take the single rose from his hand before you smile again in hope that would be enough to express your appreciation. yeosang tries to ignore the thumping beat of his heart that increasingly becoming too loud to his ears and completely oblivious to you. 

“have a good day then,” warmth and gentleness coating his voice 

“you too,” you say before you force yourself to move your feet away from the booth, almost bewitched by his eyes. and yeosang smile contently to himself as he watches your back disappear from his sight, thankful for the interaction despite it last only for a few minutes.

only when you’re a few blocks away you notice the small message attached to the wrappers of the flowers, “lucky red rose gets to claim free coffee from our shop! :)”

just when he thought your smile is enough to ease his increasing heartbeat for what’s coming next, san’s assumption was wrong when he started to rock back and forth on his toes as worry fills the air. “i uh…” he trails off and you raise your brows in anticipation, “i was wondering if you’re free to grab some coffee tomorrow…with me?” he asks, eyes going everywhere but you while he hopes the best for himself. the silence then forces himself to look at you, “of course, i would love to.” your answer immediately makes him sigh in relief as his smile reaches his eyes.

“i’ll see you then,” and san doesn’t miss the way your cheeks are getting red, making him think how adorable you are after you closed the door. excitement begins to dance inside him as he punches his fist in the air while muttering a tiny ‘yes!’

maybe..just maybe, san thought with heart full of hope; this might be a chance to get to know you better than just his neighbour.

there are no cars on the road and your apartment is quiet as you try to let the ticking sounds of the clock drown out your thoughts. the metal of the car keys in your hands are no longer cold as you fumble with it, mind debating whether you should drive to the company or put your trust in yunho that he’ll come back home eventually. it is absolutely late but you don’t feel sleepy at all. instead, worry remains still sitting on your chest. it’s strange because you know you shouldn’t be feeling this way. it’s not unusual for yunho to be home late anyway, especially when he’s preparing for the upcoming album.

you on the other hand rest yours on his too, the soft little curls of his hair now tickling your ears but that doesn’t bother you one bit because if it’s sunwoo, everything is just right to you. it’s the way his warm hands holding yours is enough to keep your whole body warm even though you’re not wearing a thick jacket or how you find his quiet hums of random songs can easily lull you to sleep even though the chattering of people in the public bus can be too loud. 

he could honestly just be there and do nothing, sunwoo’s presence is just enough solace to you and you love him for that.

“now guess what i’ll draw,” he breaks your train of thoughts. and you can hear how he’s grinning excitedly even though he’s not facing you. “don’t look,” he says, causing you to roll your eyes at him. sunwoo then starts to draw a simple circle on the palm of your hand with his finger. 

“that’s so easy,” you refuse to say the answer as a soft chuckle escapes your lips while the excitement in his eyes still shines so brightly even though your answer was not what he wished to hear. 

“how about this?” he begins again while you shut your eyes momentarily in hope to gain your focus again when his adorable smile almost distracts you. 

i - you whisper the answer to yourself when his finger starts to dance on your palm again, ready to draw whatever he has in mind. 

heart shape - you manage to catch the second picture he draws. by now, the smile on your face stretches even wider.

u - that was the last one. 

you knew the answer and you knew sunwoo is dying for you to say it out loud. you were about to tease him by not saying it but when you open your eyes, the corners of his mouth turn up into the brightest smile he’s ever had as his big doe eyes are staring right into your eyes. and you swear you could see stars gleaming brightly in it. so how could you not say it when there’s literally hearts in your eyes looking directly at the love of your life.

“i love you too, silly,”
