‧˚ʚ ❝ my Best Friend's Sister is the one 4me. ❞ ɞ˚‧
content: skater!chris, girly!reader, teenage romance, almost getting caught, cursing, slow burn, no warnings at all.
it all started when chris first met you when your brother—nate, brought you with him to his group hangout. all eyes were on you that day, especially chris. when you introduced yourself to nate's friends, chris was lost in your beautiful eyes and of how the way you talked in that soft voice.
nate noticed too, of course. the way chris would be distracted when you roam around your house while they're playing video games, the way he always asked nate if you're doing fine, and of the way chris always gets nervous when you're around him.
since nate is the closest to chris, you'll always see him around your house and honestly? you quietly feel the same too, because who the fuck wouldn't?
you're madly in love with chris without saying it out loud because of how the way he turns soft for you, how he gives you princess treatment, how he's so goddamn attractive, and just basically everything.
but there's one clear rule that nate made for his friends, especially for chris.
to never have you as one of their girlfriend or partner, or else nate will beat the fuck out of whoever hits you up.
he's even more stricter than your mom and dad, but he's only doing this for his sister's safety.
this day, chris and nate are in his room playing their dumb video game again. "beat that motherfucker's ass come on!" chris yelled as he roughly tapped the controller. meanwhile, you're rummaging around your room to find your charger "where the fuck is it?" you mutter to yourself as you remembered that nate borrowed it yesterday, so it must be in his room.
you quickly padded your feet down the hall to your brother's room as you slammed his door open, causing the both of them to flinch and jolt. "jesus christ, ever heard of knocking?" nate huffed.
"don't care. where's my charger?" you asked, raising an eyebrow at your brother. "i uhh-" nate scratched the back of his neck as he looked around. "don't fuckin' tell me you lost it." you thundered with fierce, voice all dead serious now. "yeah no, I'm telling you to mom- MOM!!" you yelled as nate stood up and clamped his hand on your mouth. meanwhile, chris is just sitting there in silence, not wanting to be snapped at by you.
"okay, okay. it's in my drawer no need to fucking yell" nate lets go of you as you rolled your eyes and took the thing you're looking for, storming off and returning to your room.
"damn, is she really that full of attitude or what?" chris questioned nate. time went by and it is now the evening, the street lights glowing outside under the low moonlight. "dinner's served! nate, call chris and your sister" your dad announced as nate and chris padded toward your room.
"hey jackass, come down 'cuz dinner's ready or else I'll eat everything." nate stated as he gently threw a pillow on you. "first of all, i have a name. second of all, you do eat everything. no need to fucking tell me" you snapped back as chris bit a chuckle.
"don't even-" nate argued back but got cut off by chris, already tired of hearing you and nate argue all night. "alright, let's all calm down shall we?" chris said as he stepped between you and your brother. nate leads the way first as you warmly smiled at chris for handling the argument.
"you handle me and nate's conflict very well."
"m'used to it.'' he replied with that annoyingly attractive smile that always made you fold. he placed his hand on your hip to guide you, but pulled his hand away when you both appeared at the dinner table. your family, including chris dug in the food—savoring the taste of honey chicken tenders with mac and cheese.
"so, how's the food?" your mom warmly asked chris "it's so delicious, you gotta show me the recipe." chris playfully teased, earning a chuckle from my parents including me and nate.
the last piece of honey tenders came, and you and nate were already glaring at each other. "i call the last piece," you remarked "no no- i should get it because I'm the oldest." nate responded as he pointed himself. "yeah right, older by one year." you muttered. "guys, you can just share the tender. i know it's good, but we don't get to fight over food like that in front of the table" chris gently said.
your mom and dad nodded in agreement. "that is true," your dad stated "nate, how about you divide it in half?"
the night went by as nate was already passed out in his bed, chris was standing beside the kitchen counter in the middle of the night scrolling through his phone since he was staying over, you suddenly woke up feeling thirsty and went down stairs to get a cold bottle of water.
"chris, why are you still up? it's like two am in the fuckin' morning." you groggily say.
"couldn't fall asleep, went here to get water. why are you still up?" he asked.
"felt thirsty too." you opened the fridge and opened a bottle of water, taking small gulps as it drips down your chin. chris wiped it away as you set the bottle aside. "damn, that's cold ass." you sighed and chuckled along with chris.
"well, i gotta go head upstairs in nate's room." he declared as you suddenly gripped his wrist gently. "already?" you whined as he chuckled low and rumbling though his chest. "well, okay- fine."
time passes by and it's getting late, the two of you continued to talk about random things, laughed quietly to not wake everyone up, and play-fighting. suddenly, chris brought up about how he feels about you everyday. "y'know, i always have this weird feeling for you, like i don't know.. the way you laugh at my jokes, or how you always called me a dork whenever i fail at attempting my skateboarding tricks" you both chuckled.
"maybe i feel the same too."
"yeah. i mean what i like about you is how turn soft and of how gentle you are to me." you actually looked at him with hope in your eyes.
you can't believe that you're talking deeply to the boy you aren't allowed to fall in love according to your brother's rule—you basically just love everything about chris and right now, nate's rule isn't really important to you because you can't handle yourself to not fall in love with chris. no other man can make you feel warm and happy. no other man can never make you question your worth. no other man can turn this soft for you. no other man except for chris.
"y'know, ma, i love every single detail of you." but after he said that, reality crashed hard like a wave—realizing that he shouldn't be like this to his best friend's sister. "look i gotta go, nate's gonna kill me if-"
"who cares about my brother? he couldn't handle me being so fucking in love with his best friend?" you snapped.
"look, he's just trying to protect you."
"it's not like you'll lead me to danger, right?"
"of course not. im too in love with you to harm you." he said with sincerity in that soft tone he only showed to you. "i like you so much, baby. i always have since the very first day i met you in person." he added.
"i like you too, chris." you confessed back.
no teasing this time. just pure sincerity.
his hands found your waist and leaned down to kiss you, but not until you both heard footsteps on the stairs as chris immediately distanced himself away from you and scrolled through his phone as you turned your back on him, pretending to do something else. both of you are ready to not get caught by whoever the fuck interrupted this precious moment.
"the fuck are you both doing here?" a familiar tone finally filled the silent kitchen.
you cleared your throat as you smacked your lips together. "nate, i was thirsty and got myself a bottle of water. calm the fuck down." you lied through your teeth, but yeah only half of it was true.
nate's gaze darted on chris, suspiciously looking at him. "what? i couldn't sleep and got thirsty too." chris remarked, still avoiding nate's gaze. "uh huh sure. if i found out that the both of you did something else, you two will have a broken bone." he warned, but there's no real bite in it—he'll probably just scold chris or have a deep talk with him.
a/n: hope y'all liked this oneee (yes i hate nate for interrupting too)
