I actually hate feysand so much
considering feyre doesn't 'let herself think about it' at least twenty-eight times throughout five books, do we think maybe if she did think about it she would have actually realized that maybe, just perhaps, she has been in the wrong lmao
honestly you all are so annoying because motherhood IS interesting but fandom people are simultaneously obsessed with deciding that every woman has motherly qualities and completely disinterested in actually exploring motherhood as a role that informs a character. I do think exploring a character being a mother can be wildly interesting if they are canonically one, but because of misogyny, people just view motherhood as a totally unremarkable naturalized state that all women must inhabit!
J. K. Rowling gave us facist Wizards.
Stephanie Meyer gave us Mormon Vampires.
And Sarah J. Maas gave us zionist Faeries.
The Holy Trinity of Mediocre White Women ruining fantasy for everyone!

I hate how SJM wrote it so that Nesta would have to give Bryce the Mask in order for Bryce to defeat the Asteri, only to have the IC threaten Nesta and rip her to shreds for it.
We had this crossover so 1) Bryce could steal Truth-Teller, 2) Nesta would give Bryce the Mask, and 3) in return, Bryce would give Nesta Gwydion. But while Bryce is the hero of the story, who saved Midgard, Nesta is treated like the irresponsible idiot who risked Prythian, rather than the intergalactic savior that she is.
And it's not like Feyre and Rhys haven't risked Prythian in order to save Prythian. They literally released death-gods from confinement hoping they could control them. And as we saw with Bryaxis, clearly they can't. But they're still heroes.
Next book, Nesta better get the praise that she deserves for helping Bryce defeat the Asteri in Midgard, thus ending the enslavement of all those people that the IC don't care about, but Nesta does.
It's sad that Feyre doesn't have her own friends or even her own life outside the IC, rhysand and the IC keep her so isolated and dependent on them she doesn't see how bad they are for her and that the IC will never put her before Rhysand, she has no one that would keep her well being as a priority.
Nesta at least has Emerie and Gwyn and Elain the twins, Feyre has no one, she considers the IC as family but the truth is they will always be Rhysand's first, as was shown with the pregnancy situation, she will never be a priority to them and they don't let her have her own life outside of them, she's so closed off from the world, she can't even see how abusive this situation is, so much so that she forgives Rhys for threatening to kill Nesta and for lying to her about the baby, she has no one outside of his family and is stuck to a place she only knows the IC, so she has no choice but always choose them.
Feyre deserves better, Rhysand is abusive to her since the beginning, but since he was the less bad choice she chose him and now she has no one to turn to, since her "family" will always choose Rhysand and would never betray him and let her leave.
Feyre doesn't have anything without the IC, they make her solely dependent on them and keep her in the dark to make her feel as her opinions and her place in the court is important. I just wish all three sisters would band together and leave that toxic court.
I’m sorry, but Rhysand saying “neither side was innocent” during the conversation with the mortal queens in ACOMAF, when the subject of fae enslaving humans was brought up, is one of the most egregious lines in the series — and it’s rarely discussed with the weight it deserves.
Let’s unpack that: he is speaking to a group of human women, representing the very group of people who were enslaved by fae for centuries, and when they bring up this long history of subjugation, torture, rape, and death, his response is to essentially say, “Well, both sides were bad.”
That is victim-blaming. That is revisionist history. That is colonialist rhetoric.
It’s no different than saying, “Well, the enslaved people fought back sometimes, so it wasn’t just the slavers who were wrong.” Rhysand, who wants to be painted as this morally enlightened, progressive High Lord, essentially minimizes the suffering of an entire species—the one his mate used to be a part of, no less—because acknowledging that the fae were uniquely cruel would be an inconvenient truth. He doesn’t show remorse. He doesn’t even offer an ounce of compassion.
Instead, he offers the oldest excuse in the book of abusers and empires: “It was mutual.”
No, it wasn’t. The fae were the enslavers. The humans were enslaved. Power imbalance matters. Scale and systems matter. And for Rhysand — who was alive during that time — to not only fail to acknowledge it, but dismiss it outright, is a massive moral failing.
What makes it worse is how it lines up with everything we’ve come to understand about how he views humans. Rhysand might love Feyre, but he doesn’t love humans. He doesn’t mourn their culture, their history, or what was taken from them. In fact, he only seems to acknowledge humans when it’s politically convenient (like trying to leverage Feyre’s mortal roots or the war). Otherwise, they’re an afterthought at best, disposable at worst.
And the fandom just…lets him get away with it.
There is no growth. No nuance. Just a man who calls himself “feminist” and “progressive” while upholding the very structures that oppressed entire peoples — and gaslighting them about it.
So yeah, “neither side was innocent”? I’m sorry, but what the actual fuck.
Leaked ACOTAR 3 Opening
“Evil morning, Tamlin,” I purred lyingly. “What are we going to have for dark breakfast. I mean regular breakfast.” Fuck, that was close. We only call it dark breakfast at the night court, where your mate feeds you fruits under the light of a thousand stars in a seductive dark way. I missed the night court, which I am in charge of. Down the mating bond, I felt Rhysand smirk or something. I rubbed my hand where my secret tattoo was subconsciously.
Across the table, Lucien frowned suspiciously. I smirked. He knew I was going to outplay and kill them all, but he couldn’t do anything about it because I knew he wanted my sister. “How is your sister doing?”
“Feyre, I have to go talk to the Hybernians,” Tamlin cut in. “There’s something about them that I can’t put my finger on that makes them untrustworthy and suspicious. Like that entire island and its red-headed inhabitants are ancient and evil. Call for Lucian if you start seeing things in the wallpaper again.”
I smirked and chuckled darkly to my self. To Tamlin, I smiled prettily. I was a killer.
What the hell
Acotar is fascinating to me because nothing happens the whole time and if something does happen at least 6 characters will say ‘this is going to/has already happened like calls to like’ but I still spend the whole time confused because the word building is so sparse. So much of what happens hinges on how the night court is so dark and twisted and fucked up and complex but neither feyre nor the reader can ever know or experience this so we kinda just have to take everyone’s word for how disgusting the demon city is. And like what governance is rhysand doing because whenever he gets presented with an opportunity he’s like no no kitten we have to leave them it because it doesn’t work like that in these parts. But he’s always very busy doing something. So we just sort of use a bunch of meaningless fantasy words to hand wave the plot forward. The last 150 pegs of each book is so entertaining because the plot is both incomprehensible and obvious at the same time. Unfortunately you have to get through 600pgs that absolutely did not need to be there first
Bring a mid-level night court bureaucrat has to be the worst job in the world. Your liege lord doesn’t collect taxes so you have no budget and then when your boss Shadow the Hedgehog comes down to twisted fucking nightmare court from nice dreamy court he doesn’t let you live in you can’t even deliver your report on the status of the dark granaries or whatever because your boss is too busy dry humping the girl he’s had on his lap the whole time to govern.

Feyre ACOTAR is both literally and socially illiterate, deeply resentful, kind of misogynistic, very pretentious, constantly looking for clues, uses sardonic humor to cope with the world, and being different is a cornerstone of her identity despite being pretty ordinary. Who was gonna tell me the protag of the biggest baddest YA series in the world atm was Jughead Riverdale
My goat is back
Now that acotar is behind you, who was your favorite character?
Nesta obviously my #1 when she was there and I liked Luci(a/e)n as a bitchy gay sidekick. However pre-lobotomy Feyre really grew on me I was so fond of her deeply unpleasant to be around jughead personality having illiterate self running around being like fuckkkkk I have to escape I’m ready to KILL and then someone who she thinks might kill her says good morning Feyre and her no survival instinct having ass is immediately like go fuck yourself. Love her❤️

Wait it's been a while since I read it. Feyre was misogynistic??
She is fully convinced she is the only woman who is also a person. She does not believe other women have interests beyond ribbons or boys. One of her many unpleasant traits that makes her a really really funny protagonist.
i have feelings for you *blocks you*
