Sasuke is clearly more neat than Naruto based on their living conditions, but Naruto would definitely help out with cleaning if they lived together. They would 100% make cleaning a fun couple activity.

Naruto would grow all kinds of plants. And Sasuke would help with that. Naruto would ramble excitedly about how different plants need different kind of caring. And Sasuke would just chuckle to himself and listen carefully.

Right after the above, we see Bard sneak up on Ori, and some chaos ensues. Bard has his arrow trained on the crowd and has demonstrated his proficiency with it. The shot pans out over dwarves' reactions for mere frames. It does this back and forth twice, as seen below.

Bilbo and Thorin are nowhere to be found. The spot they occupied moments ago is empty because you can see Balin. That brings us to the below. The first thing Thorin did when he saw there was danger was rush to Bilbo. He is quite literally pressing himself as close as he can to his side.

ME finishing the Hobbit Trilogy: Wait, did i just watch a gay love story between a Dwarf king and a Hobbit? yes, yes I did.

me, who genuinely enjoyed what it brought to the story and the liberties jackson took as an artist to make the story come to life:

the Hobbit trilogy took a children’s bedtime story that at the time had no connection to deeper lore and not much emotional depth at all and made it a poignant and lavish prequel to Tolkien’s wider lore. people pretend that the director change and studio upsets caused any kind of “rushed job” but Peter, Fran and Philippa have all said they’ve planned and been hoping to make the Hobbit for as long as they’ve wanted to make LOTR. and that’s why the Hobbit trilogy was such a box office hit and has garnered a huge new interest in Tolkien and LOTR: it’s the same lovingly crafted piece of work as LOTR, but in this case they added so much that would otherwise have felt the lack. I would never have wanted the “What ho old chum fare thee well and all that” of the original Hobbit text no matter how charming I still find the book. adapting it through the LOTR film writers eyes made it infinitely better.

in the books thorin is described as an older dwarf with a white beard who’s been alive for many years. his senority is shown not only through his status but his age. book!thorin is described to have achieved much by the time the quest to erebor even began — he was the king of the blue mountains, raising a colony from ground up — the quest to erebor, while it does tie in with the ultimate dream of reclaiming a homeland, read more (to me) like a venture rather than a destiny to be fulfilled. as far as it went the books didn’t do too much to set thorin aside from the other dwarves in terms of arc. he was part of the comical pile that landed on bilbo’s door, after all. the reclamation of erebor was made to be somewhat of a farfetched dream shared by the entire company, not thorin’s alone. yes, thorin is the leader and thorin would be the king, but these dwarves were already living a good life wherever they come from. they just wanted to try and do something glorious. the stakes weren’t exactly lower, but the motivation was different. it was more about the dwarves, and thorin with them, seizing an opportunity, rather than about thorin fulfilling his destiny of returning as king under the mountain.

arguably i felt one of the biggest shifts in the movie was thorin’s motivation. they made thorin to be a younger dwarf soon approaching/in his prime — the reclamation of erebor was, in a way, the thorin edition of the return of the king. obviously there are differences between the two but now the quest was made to be a destiny that thorin had to fulfill — after years of loss and living in (somewhat?) poverty, he is to rise again and reclaim his homeland, and in doing so recovering his wealth and living out his life to the fullest. the story glosses over thorin’s success and establishments in the blue mountains and chooses to focus more on the tragedy of him being cast out and being forced to lead the wandering dwarves, of him going from prince to pauper overnight. now the quest of erebor becomes a chance for him to revert this chancs, to restore former glories and for thorin to rise to the occasion and “become who he was meant to be”. as such there’s more on the line for movie!thorin than book!thorin, and we want to see him succeed. we root for him like we root for aragorn, because we like to see a story where unfulfilled destinies/potentials are finally fulfilled.

in the books thorin was old, he’d achieved much and the reclamation of erebor alone brought him satisfaction in knowing that he had done much for his people. he was content to leave its rulership to the next generation, for having done his part in getting it back in the first place. that’s why the book’s description is very poignant and poetic — you accept thorin’s death. he was content with the way his life had lived out, he was content with the glory he had achieved, and he had gained perspective from waking up from the dragon sickness. he makes his amends with bilbo when he sends him off, and all in all the timing of the death is almost… right. he only died when all of the puzzle pieces had fallen into place for the dwarves.

but movie!thorin’s life wasn’t meant to end here. at the age he looked, his life was meant to start after he had reclaimed the lonely mountain. he was meant to reach his prime as a king of the mountain once more, and live out the many, many remaining years of his life in peace and prosperity. but the tragedy of the hobbit movies is that his arc was never completed. he reclaimed erebor, yes, but he was never restored to the throne he had been dreaming about. he never completes his aragorn’s arc, never has the chance to really, fully fulfill his destiny. that’s why it’s gutwrenching to watch him die — he’s so close to his goal but he will never get it.

also, the fact that he’s discovered on ravenhill instead of the healer’s tents in dale also says a lot. the former is more tense, a more desperate fight between life and death. thorin didn’t even have the chance to get a healer before he knew he had to say his goodbyes. the latter is peaceful, uncontaminated by the horrors and noises of war. book!thorin is dying slowly, quietly when bilbo finds him — these differences evoke our emotions in different ways. movie!thorin’s death was untimely and messy and turbulent — that’s why we feel absolutely devastated when it happens. because he wasn’t sent off properly (or at the right time in his life). we feel he had so much more to live for, and the fact that it’s now gone makes us so much sadder.

they’re written differently and that changes the tone of the story that’s being told completely. first and foremost the hobbit is a children’s book. thorin, to the reader, is an old king who dies after doing right by his people. his death is more peaceful and poignant, much like a grandparent passing away. you don’t take the tragedy of his death with you beyond the story, but rather his final words and the wisdom within.

but movie!thorin for a hollywood blockbuster movie essentially has your tragic, gutwrenching, “thE FEeLs” death scene. the stories that are being told in modern hollywood tend to have a great deal less wisdom in them — they’re more interested in making you remember the movie (and ᵇᵁʸ ᵗʰᴱᶦᴿ ᵐᵉʳᶜʰ) and what better way to do that then throw on a huge, traumatic death scene at the climax of the movie? i argue it almost feels a little formulaic and to some extent it takes away from the essence of the hobbit movies. movie!bilbo’s story doesn’t get closure as a result of thorin’s untimely death — we are led to believe, on the basis of their (very close ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)) relationship, that bilbo spends the rest of his life grieving over thorin until he leaves the shire in lotr again.

Some examples:

Naruto was the first person to whom Sasuke personally disclosed the identity of the person who he wanted to kill, his brother (when Kakashi asked about Sasuke's ambitions, Sasuke merely said he needed to kill "a certain someone" and refused to elaborate further). However, when asked by Naruto to explain why he sacrificed himself for him (a.k.a. explain his feelings for him), Sasuke stated he was uncertain ("I don't know why") despite a collage of evidence that determined otherwise. Sasuke shielded Naruto from the truth of the curse mark to protect him. Sasuke was the one who revealed his desire to fight Naruto. Sasuke intimated his feelings about the importance of Team 7 first, which then encouraged Naruto to self-disclose about his childhood loneliness/sadness as well as his personal philosophy of strength. Sasuke was the first to call Naruto his personal friend but refused to elaborate on why it was significant (its relation to the Mangekyo Sharingan) when prompted by Naruto. Sasuke (angrily) revealed his feelings about the pain that came from losing his familial ties, which then motivated Naruto to talk about the importance of their bond.

In the Osaka Exhibition Q&A, Gege reveals that Shinjuku was chosen as the place of battle because of what Geto had said during JJK 0.

The date of the battle is also the same as the one from the Night Parade because Gojo wanted the 24th of December to be Geto's second death day.

Seeing Geto talk to his mom on the phone is so painful. I always had a feeling that Geto didn’t hate his parents. Maybe part of him resented them at some point, but killing them was just to show himself and the world his resolve at a point were he is already broken beyond repairing. You can tell in the way he talks about them in his farewell to Gojo. The way he behaved and talked in Hidden Inventory, kind and caring, shows he was someone who was raised with love.

He evidently felt misunderstood by his parents, though, because he was always looking for a found family. First in JJ Tech with Gojo, Shoko, Haibara and Nanami. Then with Nanako and Mimiko and the rest of his cult. He explicitly calls those two groups of people ‘family’ for a reason. The way he also is able to understand Kuroi’s feelings for Amanai and validating them as ‘family’ is also very telling of what family means to him.

Perhaps the most painful thing about this new lore drop is that it shows that Geto feeling misunderstood by his parents doesn’t mean he hated them or that he was necessarily mistreated.

Were they good parents? We don’t know. Did they know how to deal with his powers and comfort him? Probably not. Did they love him? Most likely, yes. His relationship with his parents was complex and makes his final decision of killing them so painful.

We meet him after it’s happened in the first season of JJK. He’s flippant, has no regard for his own safety, and focuses mostly on protecting and nurturing his students. He’s selfless. And yes, it’s out of kindness and the trauma he experienced as a teenager, but I think it’s also because he simply has no reason to care about whether he lives or dies anymore. His goal was to teach the next generation to be strong and smart, to protect their youth.

He’d seen his future with Suguru. I feel like that’s relatable to us—when we’re young, we picture the people we care about most in our lives forever. Going to their weddings, raising our kids to be friends, etc.

It isn’t far-fetched to say Satoru also saw Suguru in his future, by his side. So when that was taken from him, when Suguru died and that became a complete impossibility, Satoru gave up on having a future on his own.

His whole life he was treated like either a weapon or a monster. He got used to it, but he was never allowed to just be a person. He was tired. The one person who understood him and protected his weak points was gone. He was alone.

He only made it a year without Suguru.

And when he went into that fight, I think he knew he was going to lose. He chose December 24th for a reason—to die the same day Suguru did. He knew he’d been on borrowed time.

He was finally able to go all-out in his fight against Sukuna.

Hidden Inventory is Satoru’s memory of his high school days with Suguru, and what had all went wrong.

So why is Suguru the one narrating it??

“Things were busy that summer. Cursed spirits were springing up like maggots.”

“Satoru had become the strongest.”

“I hate monkeys. That’s the true feeling I chose.”

It was all Suguru’s thoughts. But it’s supposed to be Satoru’s perspective?

My theory—Satoru was remembering Suguru telling him his side of the story. At some point during the 10 years Suguru was a curse user, they met and talked. I just don’t believe with how close they were, Satoru never tried getting Suguru back multiple times. He could have found Suguru (because we all know how easy it is for him to sense him) and questioned him more. Suguru could have told him his point of view.
