snakes shed their skin. i change my tumblr profile aesthetic. same difference.
genuine question why are defined genders and identities a thing? why did we as humans, somewhere along the milleniums choose to deprive themselves of the ability to exist freely outside labels and undergo continuous evolution as people and exploring new avenues with regard to themselves in favour of being stuck with two or more rigid notions as to what gender is ? in other words, when did we lose our whimsy?
Maturing is realizing that the only person who should be idolized in the Mahabharata, is Krishna.
Honestly I think idiolising draupadi is also fine but the karna supporters can go to hell
The state is near patal lok rn
Ikr, can't Karna supporter understand the simple concept of 'if he's on the wrong side he's probably a bad person' even if he was just a loyal person (which is not the case, he actively topk part insulting draupadi) any human with sane morality would not support a king who wanted to disrobe a women in front of a court
@hari-priya these people view karna as an anti hero tbh. They see his flaws more than his choices. The fact that he was one of those who suggested draupadi be disrobed is a clear indication of people ignoring his choices in favour of his 'tragic past' and how 'he deserves better'
imo it's less of a matter of absolute division of sides into the right and the wrong, rather the individual actions that build up over time. the man wanted draupadi stripped. he was the one who suggested it. he hated the woman because of one rejection gone wrong, directed his animosities towards her husbands ( who granted, themselves weren't saints ) at her more often than not. as angaraj, as far as my knowledge goes, he wasn't a very adept king - more attuned to the ways of the warrior than a king or politician and often made remarks about the apparent 'lower class' and treated them as terribly as he supposedly was subject to. yes the man was wronged in many scenarios, yes he was wounded, but his hurt doesn't grant him the absolute right to unleash similar experiences or wrong others in similar and/or different ways. he is a layered character, or a person, rather, who had his share of virtues and his share ( a rather huge one imo ) of irredeemable flaws.
@dimensionlessabstractbanjaran I had to post it
Imagine: Modern AU krishna in kurukshetra (which in modern au would be this horrible family feud) going to blow the panchajanya to signal the start of the fight, and it's a cycle horn (the rubber one where you press and it makes that duck sound)

I keep checking my tumblr notifs like a Victorian era lady waiting for mail during a war 💀
besides his antisemitism and relatively narrow views ( both not excused ) roald dahl, as perceived through his books wasn't a terrible person to look up to for advice as a child. his character's, the children, constantly challenged social norms and the idiotic idiosyncrasies of adults, acted up against them, and for stories meant for young children, faced consequences that weren't as sugarcoated for 'rebelling' as they did. and that didn't stop them from pushing back against those notions harder, till they atleast made the change they wanted to see in their own small worlds. and not once were their wishes labelled childish or invalidated. it was just what it was.
"taken" where did they take you. tell me. I will free you.

one of my favourites amongst regional tales/accounts is the one where krishna disguised himself as kali so as to prevent radha from getting slandered and ostracized by her spying husband and relatives, when she sneaked out to meet him hearing his flute. other than the allegorical meaning, the idea of kanha's first instinct to be to dress up like his sister lest he or radha get in trouble and also to seem less sus is EXTREME, and i repeat SUCH EXTREME sibling behaviour.
which leads me to the next point that is parvati in her various forms has been wingwomanning (if that's a word) for krishna his entire life. the one mentioned above being one such instance ( i think she let him borrow her outfit, accessories and aesthetic just for a bit for that) and rukmini finding refuge in the ambika mandir and that being the place krishna essentially picked her up from ( my man probably begged his sister to be the wingman once again, knowing him)

Apparently one of the 100 Kauravas was named Karna. The poor lad must have felt so neglected when Karna (Vasusena) showed up and Duryodhana probably completely forgot he had a blood brother by that name.
Saw this on insta and now can't get the image of Arjuna sitting behind Krishna driving a stolen Activa into battle out of my head
as the years pass, the more social media becomes a tool to decimate free will and limit expression of opinions. in the name of being politically correct, they deprive you of the choice to dislike something and give criticism ( as evidenced by yt 'sneakily' taking off the dislike button all those years ago) and also discuss more sensitive topics without immediately being censored, flagged and suppressed for apparent profanity and indecency. diversity of opinions is apparently not even a thing anymore - you should only be allowed to say 'nice' things. this is the kind of 'negativity' they want to prevent and remove- not the misinformation, not circumstances of cyberbullying, not the propaganda spread to the masses. way to go, really.
