I've seen people in the fandom say he is but, of course NOT everyone in the fandom calls him that
Also, yes Caine is based of off AM but the difference is, is that Caine actually cares for the humans and is just plain oblivious that he's torturing them

After today's spotlight event I wrote something about Anran's design changes between the animation and the concept art. I refuse to post anything on Twitter so here it is, bear with me my fellow human on tumblr 😔
Disclaimer: I am not an expert in traditional chinese clothing. I'm just some random Chinese who knows a thing or two about design.
Looking back at the animation, it is quite obvious that they just changed a lot of her designs to be similar to Kiriko's, including her classic handheld fan to have a kunai-ish blade, a traditional Chinese martial art outfit (Wuxing University's uniform, if I am not wrong) to athletic pants, random sleeves, and the Kiriko style sneakers/boots.
Kiriko's design style is explicitly said to have athleisure inspirations, combining the modern streetwear with her traditional miko-style outfit, like her identity. Now moving to Anran, this copy-pasting is simply lazy because being "rebellious" and "tending to her tradition in her own way" doesn't seem to be core to her personality.
Anran used to have matching arm armor with her brother's as well. We'v lost so much
In the comic, she never once had long, decorative sleeves, and all of her sleeves are tightened/tucked in. Considering the need for her movement set, this is the most logical choice.
However, by changing that, they added extra flow and softness (smoother silhouette), and Anran lost some steadiness in her design, which we could've used more of in the female Overwatch characters' design languages.
Moreover, this set of designs still lacks a central shape. They seem to attempt to add an S-shape in as the main visual clue, but the visual guidance is so bad that it lacks functionality. See Ana's triangular shape as a successful example, where it adds to the hero's silhouette to create a stable, stealthy feeling, as she is the best sniper in the world to support her teammates.
A collage of her face between the animation and the in-game model easily shows that they made her face shorter and rounder, while sharpening her chin. I'm not even going to complain about the rounder, larger eyes.
Her eyeshadow, eyebrow and stronger nose bridge also got nerfed a lot. She lost a lot of unique features. These are some of the features that made this character unique, "Chinese" at first look, and part of the Overwatch universe, but not some random character that you can pull out of any random online game.
While I understand that the animation model is not final, I am pointing out that they could have done better with their explicit choices made in the process.
I wish they would make some changes to the final details before she is released; however, considering that she is going to be in-game tomorrow, I doubt that will be the case. Seeing the standards watered down over the years saddens me a lot. Overwatch was something else. I hope it remains so (while obviously it is not). 😔
Whenever I see these fanfiction or headcannons that surround this concept that Bruce cannot do certain things because of how the Gotham “Elite” will react. Tim giving these speeches to his siblings about the etiquette they must follow or whatever.
I think in a way this stems from the fact that because we know Bruce is a good person, well supposed to be.
In our minds, it makes sense that he has to listen to the other rich people because we’re used to like power dynamics in that way, right? Of course, the good guy has to pander to these rich bad guys.
However, realistically, that is not at all how this would work.
Actually, this is also a part of my problem sometimes with like people calling Jason a street rat at galas or people calling Tim a slur.
Sure that probably happens behind closed doors.
But you are not going to say a single thing that could at all of reach the most powerful man in Gotham‘s ears.
He can dance on many tables as he wants because at the end of the day, he is a billionaire with his hands in every single aspect of Gotham well respected by almost every individual and knows how big his dick is.
Bruce does not follow etiquette, his children do not have to either he makes the fucking rules.
They want to trash every single gala ever they damn well can they are fucking Wayne’s.
You are not going to shit talk his children when he can snap his fingers and You live in a cardboard box.
Gotham itself will turn against you.
I do love exploring a very manipulative Drake Way Tim.
But the reasoning for him being like that is the Drakes did not ever have half the power Bruce did.
Bruce Wayne can do whatever the fuck he wants. His Heir’s can do whatever the fuck they want.
Eventually, Tim also gets that privilege.
* this was so random, but I was reminded of this thought because I just saw something that was like kind of in the lines of like Bruce schooling, his children on how they have to act at a gala. Which no.
If Dick wants to climb a goddamn chandelier, Bruce is not saying shit. God forbid someone else does he will buy your fucking life 10 times over.
It's 2026 and we're still doing the whole "you post funny memes and/or skits on social media and have more than 10+ followers, so you're obligated to post your uneducated political opinions or I'm going to comment that you're literally Hitler on every post you make".
I will truly never understand this phenomenon. Like, even though I disagree with this too, I can at least comprehend the logic behind cutting off friends and family members whom you disagree with. I think it's dumb, but I understand to some extent why you wouldn't want someone like that as a near-constant in your life.
But the funnymen on the internet who only post memes, fandom-related content, or completely non-political skits—people with whom you could easily mute, block and/or scroll away from the moment you stop enjoying their content—I just don't get it.
At this point, I consider them worse than trolls because at least trolls, while cringe, are commenting to farm engagement from you; to get a rise out of you. These people are just actively spreading hate and confusing it with doing good.
Friendly reminder/suggestion to Northern Hemisphere creators, if you're going to launch a Christmas merch line, please also put the designs on things like t-shirts, singlets hell even swim-wear, because i cannot physically wear your "Christmas sweater merch" in 45°C ( 113°F) weather-

I remember when I was in school being like, "Why will I ever need to know these things????" and getting so annoyed by it. And now my nephew, who's in high school, complains about the same thing, but now I'm old enough to know that the point isn't knowing those things, the point is using your brain. That the act of learning is in and of itself the thing you're going to need to know in the future. That every act of learning is important, even if you can't point to an exact day in your life when that learning will happen.
I feel like that isn't a radical thing to say, but I work in higher ed, and we are under so much pressure to only teach our students "useful" things. And I understand that education is expensive and people don't want to "waste" their time. But on the other hand, all education is useful, because it's learning and thinking and these are important things. We are not thinking that people are going to need to recite Virginia Woolf for a living, but we are thinking that people might need to use their brains, and so we practice using our brains. Is this a luxurious and privileged thing to say? Yes. Absolutely. And that is exactly what everyone should be fighting for.
Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm happy I learned related rates problems in a calculus class way back when. I mean, I could never do one today -- I don't think I could even do one back then -- and I have never had to do a related rates problem in my adult life (I don't think; I never even knew what they were lol), but I learned to challenge myself and wade through something that made no sense and work diligently to struggle through well enough, and I use those skills basically every day, and I feel very lucky that I do.
