endlich bin ich mit Klausuren fertig! đĽłđž
2nd semester here we go
A tip for when you feel like you're making no progress and you're never going to be fluent in your target language:
Pick up your old notebooks, from last month or from when you only just began learning. Look into them, all of the notes in there are things you already know, skills you have mastered. See how much of a beginner you were back then, and now look at you. Even if now it feels like you're stuck, you just have to look back and you will notice how far you have come.
wĂźnsch mir GlĂźck
I just love how in English you say âgreat minds think alikeâ, which is a completely positive thing since youâre kinda praising yourself, but in German you go like âzwei Dumme, ein Gedankeâ = âtwo fools, one thoughtâÂ
German is beautiful, isnât it
Kind of reminds me when my french teacher explained us the french idiom âLâespoir fait vivreâ (Hope makes us live) and he asked me how Germans say it and I was like âHope dies lastâ and his legit answer was:
âSee, thatâs why no one likes you!â

âDie Konsonanten sind das Skelett und die Vokale das Fleisch der WĂśrter.â

The consonants are the skeleton and the vowels are the flesh of the words.

went back to the writing space and wrote 10 pages, only 3 of which will make it past âediting meâ, listened to fine line the whole time and drank far, far too many cups of coffee.
can anyone give me any podcasts (auf deutsch) suggestions?

HALLO LANGBLR! 8/12/2019
It's Cristina here. I only recently found out about the existence of the online language community, and just by scrolling through a few posts I already felt much more motivated to work for my goals!!!đŠđŞ
so here I am, creating a side blog to just reblog stuff in German (Deutsch, you're such a struggle!), aesthetically pleasing pics to keep me motivated, and hopefully post some texts in German when I'll feel confident enough. Anyone learning Deutsch at a A2/B1 like me? Would love to find some useful resources and make some friends on hereâ and I'd be happy helping anyone with their Italian!
P.S. I follow from my main @selenephilia
my german B1 exam is in a week! time to revise the basicsđľ

How to say âI love youâ in German
,,Ich liebe dichâ
This directly translates to âI love youâ. However, you wouldnât say that to someone you like. Itâs okay to say Ich liebe dich to someone you are close to. For example: your significant other. Saying Ich liebe dich shows that you trust them.
,,Ich habâ dich lieb/ Ich habe dich liebâ
Is an innocent way to tell that you love someone. Youâd use this when talking to a friend or parent. It directly translates to âI have love for youâ. However, some native speakers might explain it as someone being a part of all the love they have. You can also use this phrase when you are not quite ready to tell your crush about the feelings you have for them.
,,Ich mag dichâ
Directly translates to âI like youâ. Youâd use this in a more platonic context. Itâs sometimes used as a way to indicate romantic interest.
Example:Â âWe share the same humour, Ich mag dich.â
,,Ich habe mich in dich verliebt.â
Translates to something like âI have fallen in love with you.â Youâd use this when you are 100% sure about your feelings. It shows that the âprocessâ of falling in love is complete. If you are in the middle of falling in love, youâd use ,,Ich bin in dich verliebt.â (=I am falling in love with youâ)
âDu hast gelernt, was Freiheit heiĂt und das vergiss nie mehrâ
(Translation: Youâve learned what freedom is and never forget that)
