Just thinking about an immense general sigh of relief in all 12 Districts after the announcement of the 3rd Quarter Quell.

The President just came on national television and said “existing pool of Victors.” Yeah, that’s going to be devistating to Katniss and co but…

That’s a whole years worth of children who learned they will never again have their name in the reaping bowl, never again have dress up and stand in the roped off pens for the cameras, never again wonder if the odds are in their favor.

That’s parents and friends and other loved ones understanding their kid is safe.

It’s even a smaller sigh that all the others are safe for another year. Maybe the 76th will be back to normal but it’s only 6 years of risk, not 7.

Perhaps this sigh is immediately followed by guilt when they process what the envelope says. Maybe there’s an attempt at rationalizing “we’ll they’ve already experienced the Horrors, it’s not like we have to pick our own neighbors or see twice as many taken.” There might even be a celebration of District Pride in places like 2 and 4 or 1 because they’re sure their Victor will win again.

With Katniss as our narrator, we don’t get to experience the average District person’s reaction. But how would you feel, three months before your last Reaping Day and the new rule disqualifies you?

And luckily for the 17-and-younger crowd, the Rebellion boils over and wins! The 74th was the last time, there are no more Games (assuming you survived the war).

being an mcu fan is so embarrassing like yeah i am a big fan of one of the most famous, highest-grossing movie franchises of all time. yeah it's falling apart at the seams and it's run out of creativity and it looks boring and the plot is too overdone and a lot of the decisions being made behind the scenes are driven by racism, misogyny, and homophobia. but like it used to be really fun in the good old days all the actors weren't huge A list actors so they gave a shit about the projects and they were all friends with each other and the interviews were hilarious and the movies were made with a lot of heart and love and every once in a while you would get a crazy lil one second cameo and it wasn't a lot but it was a fun easter egg for you and the three people who were caught up on the lore. man where did we go wrong

it bothers me when someone brings up misogyny in shounen anime and people shrug it off with "its designed for teenage boys, what can you expect." like well. idk i think its actually pretty important that shows for teenage boys are normal about women. i mean i think all media should be normal about women but teenagers are impressionable i think we could put a little bit of feminism in the teenage boy shows. it might do some good. you never know.
