I can’t stop thinking about Gaia Odo.
Please leave wild animals in the wild; no matter the circumstances, turtles are not better off in captivity.
This is a pretty old piece that I started 3 years ago - I actually posted the sketch here. I had trouble getting the pallet the way I’d imagined it though - I started colouring it a few times and just wasn’t happy with it, so eventually abandoned the piece. I’m glad I went back to it though, I feel like I finally got it just about right!
I instantly take a liking to any somewhat grumpy, serious character in Star Trek. I guess I have a type.
A couple WIP gifs. Odo is coming tomorrow. Goodnight!

I only do two types of art. Last post. This post.
I've found it hard over the last year or so to find any motivation to sit down and draw. I always feel pressure when I draw to do something original, or inspired, or high concept, but at the end of the day I just wanna draw portraits. No point in feeling like my art isn't good enough if it's going to result in me not drawing at all.
A couple little dudes I drew for a species rehabilitation pitch for school
I’m going for environment stuff now but it’s fun that I can still use my art c:
For art telephone with old school friends! I’m getting rusty
I never thought drawing animals was my strong suit, but I’m having fun, so here we go.
This came into my mind while I was falling asleep.

I’m getting a dog today!!! Meet Nicolas!
It’s not been easy getting him here! I adopted him through a charity which brings abandoned dogs in Greece over to families in Canada. This guy in particular has had a tough time getting adopted - he’s a large, black dog, when most people are looking for the smallest, whitest dogs possible. He was born in 2013 and grew up in the shelter, along with his siblings, who were left with nothing but a note.
After a month of waiting, he was meant to arrive Saturday - but for some reason he wasn’t loaded onto his flight. They said the cages were too big, even though Nicolas’ brother had flown out in the same crate last month. Volunteers from the shelter had to drive all the way back to get him and the other dog who were supposed to leave that day. The poor dogs had been in their crates for over 8 hours, and Nicolas was so shaken by the ordeal he refused to go on a walk the next day, thinking he was being sent back to the aeroport all over again.
He was rebooked for a flight four days later. And of course, still nothing was easy - he was turned away again, but the shelter was able to find smaller crates for the dogs to fly in. The flight was then delayed, which somehow resulted in the dogs being out on the aeroport track. But, finally, they were loaded, the plane took off, and the dogs spent last night in a doggie hostel in Amsterdam before finally landing in Toronto this morning. It will take them a little while to get through customs, but soon he will finally be able to start his new life here!
A fluff! I may make some changes later on, but here, for now, is the finished thing!
I've never completed a paleoart piece before. The whole process was interesting, if not a little daunting - 50% drawing, 50% research. I didn't aim to draw any specific kind of dino, but rather tried to create a realistic depiction of a generic, more modern avian dinosaur; I actually began by drawing a bird (a smooth billed ani) and working from there.
In the background you'll see a couple tapejara - T. wellnhoferi (left) and T. imperator.
