Ms Terry Farrell was really out here putting her heart and soul into Rejoined...sitting in on the casting to make sure they found someone she would have good chemistry with...delivering one of the best screen kisses out there in one take with no rehearsal...in a scene so moving it made them both cry afterwards...she still has a physical scar on her foot from where she slipped filming the rescue scene but pushed through so she didn't slow down production...playing every bit of the hope and the tragedy...all in the 90s when many shows including star trek had never done a same sex story or kiss before...are you even an ally if you aren't that dedicated to your character lezzing out

I've never felt gayer in my life
Alexander Siddig taking every opportunity to make us happy on the Delta Flyers podcast, transcription:
Sid (responding to a different point and taking the topic wildly out of context): Well I think also that, you know, there's a big fan splinter group, I would say big, there's a fan splinter group who do a lot of fanfiction. And there's a lot of stories based on the love affair between Garak and Bashir. We are in our stride now, we are husband and husband, and (referring to his relationship with Garak in OMB) we are absolutely talking like we're familiar like that. And that was a really, that was a really interesting corner that we turned, which the writers picked up on about some very early, very first scene of the very first show that we were together in Replimat, where he hovered around me and he flustered me like I was a young ingenue. Yes. I just couldn't handle him. I couldn't handle myself. And it just started a little flame, which ended up being a homoerotic, very important homoerotic element to their relationship.
Garrett: Well, we had Andy on the podcast. He talked about that very first episode and how little they told him about the character. And he said, as I read these scenes, I realized Garak's in love with Bashir. I played it that way. He said, that was my choice. No one told me that, but that's how I read it. That's what I got from it. So I leaned into that. And that-
Terry: Yeah. When he saw you for the first time, he said, what a beautiful man. And that also was like kind of, on seeing you struck by your beautiful face. And your doe eyes. I'm adding that from this.
Sid: Yeah. Well, I empathize with lots of women who have that kind of attention, that almost predatory kind of attention, in a, not in a malicious way, because about three years before that, one and only time I've ever been frankly propositioned by another guy on a dance floor, it actually flustered me completely. I was so surprised and like, and I was like, "I, I, I…" So I had to take that moment and bring it into the show.
Garrett: So as much as of a couple that you two have become, the writers also gave you another relationship. It's like, you're married to two different people. O'Brien being the other person.
Sid: He was the archetypal guy and I was- So very different. Yeah, I was very lucky. Cause I got- My first was, it was obviously Jadzia and we did a big dance around that. And it just went where it went organically (…)
