"You can take the blindfold off." The Nation's Lorekeeper watched her Hero's eyes light up. A giant, molten hot lava cake sat in front of them, encrusted in real gold leaf. Jadzia carefully sliced it in two before she sat across from them at the table.
"For me?" They glanced around, seeing that they were the only two people in Termina Temple's war room.
"It doesn't stop there," She tossed the Hero a heavy pouch of gold. "Told you I'm good for it."
"This is…" The Hero smiled, struggling not to laugh. "...About a tenth of what you owe me."
"Hey, it's a start. And I worked really hard learning how to bake a cake for you." The experience primarily consisted of Jadzia making a huge mess, and almost burning the kitchen down.
The Hero had already dug in, fully enjoying themselves while Jadzia pouted.
"So, who did you borrow from to get everything you needed for this?"
The Fiend rolled her eyes.
"No one."
Someone began banging on the door, demanding that Jadzia show herself.
"I get it. You forged a contract."
"Rand doesn't mind."
Somewhere in Tercessuinotlim, the Archfiend was flipping through old records, trying to figure out the schematics of a business deal involving a soul that was already sold.
