You guys know what this means???
DUNESDAY!! 😤
grout white shark
nimble, a border collie-papillon mix, wins the 12” class in the 2024 masters agility championship. the first time a mixed breed has won at westminster ever.
context explaining why the announcer is screaming, this is supposed to take a high level competitive agility dog 40 seconds
This video makes me cry every time it’s on my dash and I can’t even iterate why.
Like the dog doesn’t even know it’s a competition and she’s made history. She(?) just is happy and knows she made her owner happy too.
The face of a being with only a wind storm between their ears, moments before unleashing it unto the world
always a pleasure to see this girl on my dashboard
Nimble is the goodest girl

Honestly, Tvyek is pretty miraculous. It’s permeable to water vapor but not to water, it’s nearly impossible to tear, but can be easily cut. It’s cheap and made entirely without binding chemicals. In addition to being used for wristbands, it’s used to wrap construction sites to keep out water during construction, for tear-resistant envelopes at Fed-Ex, coveralls for mechanics, and my wallet, actually.
Fun tip, though it looks like paper, Tyvek is plastic, and cannot be recycled with paper.
holy fuc
I didn’t even know it had a name
WHAT
this is making me emotional
So we went on a trip to Los Angeles almost exactly a year ago now and one of the places we visited was the Griffith Observatory (HIGHLY recommend btw it’s so cool).
There’s a portion of the observatory that leads form one floor to another, iirc, and the whole way down the hallway there’s a timeline on the wall of the universe as we know it, from the Big Bang to today, marked by various signs explaining each significant moment. I got to the end of it and read the last two signs and took a picture that still makes me emotional when I look at it:
Our time in this universe has been so short, and yet, look how far we’ve come. :’)
reading a negative review of something you love written by a person who very clearly didn’t understand it at all
reading a positive review of something you love written by a person who very clearly didn’t understand it at all
Reading a negative review of something you hate by someone who very clearly didn't understand it at all and hates it for the wrong reasons
“I don’t do math because I’m gay” “the gays can’t do math” “If I explain math on tumblr I’ll lose my gay card” all of you apologize to Alan Turing right now
The “+” in LGBTQ+ is for math.
It’s literally been years since anyone added something slightly clever or original to this post, so I would like to congratulate you and maybe even bestow some kind of award. I don’t have anything to give you though
It was simple addition, really.

RYAN GOSLING "I'm Just Ken" wins Best Original Song at the 29th Annual Critics' Choice Awards (January 14, 2024)
Happy pride to those 5 seconds where Charlie Swan thought Jacob was coming out to him in the most insane way possible
Is this a bit silly? Yes. But consider: living in the same universe as RoboMonk
We Are One step Closer
Personally I don’t see what a robot could get out of being a monk seeing as it already doesn’t want things
nobody wants to see your dumbass ai caricature of yourself

A German regional court has ruled that Google is directly liable for the content of its AI search overviews. According to the court, previou
Let’s fucking go
This is HUGE.
1. The court holds Google responsible for statements made by its AI, considering them Google's statements (search engines have limited liability for results in their engine as they're the words of other sites/companies/people), meaning when their AI lies/hallucinates they're liable for the defamation/harm resulting from those statements.
2. Google's defense that customers are generally aware of the lack of reliability and are responsible for fact checking was dismissed. As the court pointed out, that would "significantly diminish" AI Search's stated purpose and it can't be distinguished from Google's business practices/statements as a search tool.
3. Studies have found about 91% of Google's everyday AI responses are accurate, leaving millions of searches per HOUR with potential liability for falsehoods. 56% of correct responses weren't supported by the sources the AI listed. Both of which mean Google is now liable for a LOT more AI "errors."
4. Google was held liable for 80% of court costs in this case and this precedent is expected to reverberate around the world. This is a massive shift from the 3rd-party search provider role Google has previously played and it comes right as they've tied ALL searches to their AI search.
TL;DR Google reeeeeally stepped in it this time.
