When will submissions reopen?
Every time someone asks that I add another month.
Why did you remove the "I know the quote but not the character" option?
Because this blog is about whether you know the Character in the voice clip, not if you recognize the voice line. For example if you've heard the line "A new hand touches the beacon" but only know the line and not who says it (without looking it up) then you vote that you don't know the character.
Why was my submission rejected?
I try not to reject submissions unless I have to. Main reasons for rejection are:
No voiced line in the submission (if it's just someone laughing or making noises that isn't actual dialogue I won't accept it).
Audio Issues (usually too quiet or otherwise unintelligible. I can quickly amplify some audio clips but if it is too quiet I can't amplify without distortion. I also can't edit out background noise or increase the quality of submitted audio files)
Uploading issues (Tumblr just won't let me upload sometimes. Usually this is just stuff clipped from songs or has bgm that triggers tumblr's content ID thing but occasionally its other things and there's nothing I can really do about it sadly)
I can't easily contact people about rejected submissions but I'm happy to answer asks about where submissions are in the queue or if they've been rejected
How do I know about the status of my submission?

I want to discuss the character in a submission but don't want to spoil it!
Standard way to do this is to use Rot13 to obscure their name, but any other form of obfuscation should work (except putting it behind a read more, that'll still show up in notifications). Also discussing the source material is OK, as well as reblogging to a side-blog dedicated to the source material. Finally once the poll has expired (should be 7 days after it is posted) you can talk about the character to your heart's content, even if the official answer hasn't been posted yet.

I don't endorse any of the media that is posted on here, nor do I keep track of what's considered problematic this week or do background checks on each submission. So long as the audio clip in question meets tumblr's terms of service (and doesn't get rejected for other reasons) it'll probably be added to the queue.

hi. im facing eviction. i have tried every social and government support i can contact, but have not been able to get help. the household has no income and has three disabled people struggling to keep their heads above the water.
my deadline is september 10th to pay $2000, and september 25th for $1515 (total paid: 1800/5315)

current situation:
after going to court, we were able to work out a payment plan. we would pay $1800 on friday august 28th, $2000 on september 10th, and $1515 on september 25th. we were able to make the first payment due to donations, but we are completely out of money now and there's still no income. my mother has managed to get a job interview and reach out to people, but nothing is set in stone at the moment.
some questions people have had:
"are you aware this has your name and city?" yeah. it's that or go homeless, so i made a decision. what are you gonna do, get me double evicted? (/silly)
"why haven't you tried XYZ thing?" i assure you, i have. i can post pictures of a bunch of resources ive contacted and the reasons they didnt work out, if you want proof of some kind. i have a case manager to connect me to resources, and even she's out of things to suggest. most local resources require you to be a veteran or have a child in the house, neither of which applies to us. and the rest are largely out of funding due to post-covid cuts.
"how did you get in this situation?" i am disabled and cannot work. the person who makes the most income was fired from her job abruptly after things that were not her fault (one of which was a car accident, which she was denied workman's comp for. despite her job literally being driving for this company). the job market sucks, so it took over four months to get a new one.
"why was she fired from her recent one?" i don't know. she didn't explain much. she said something about having complaints against her - but these complaints included things like "having the door shut while doing paperwork" and "not working enough hours despite doing 7-4 five days a week"
"why do you have no where to go?" we don't really have family or friends to turn to. the best is my aunt who lives in the city, but her landlord will evict her if he found out she was housing us.
"what if you don't meet the goal?" any money we get will be used for paying this debt back. even if we're evicted, we will still owe money.
"why aren't you working?" i am disabled, physically and mentally. i am currently undergoing therapy for both to be able to. work from home was a possibility discussed, but we decided to progress further in therapy first. at this point, WFH would not make me the $5.3k we need to not be evicted.
"why isnt your stepfather working?" he's attending a school. i dont know why he doesnt do both. those who know me personally are also aware that this decision to quit his job came while my mother had no job, and also that this school will not work out, so. suffice to say he is not reliable for all of this.
"you need to get out of there." yeah. im going to. but i cant do that if i have an eviction to my name. i need to get past this crisis so i can bail.
hello, im so sorry for bringing this up again, but i did have a big update. we were able to work out a payment plan, and make the first payment due to donations. thank you everyone who has shared this so far, and i wish lovely flowers and dreams to anyone who's donated. you all have kept us going and im infinitely grateful.
we're not out of the woods yet but i plan to keep doing anything i can to keep us going. if you're willing to share this again, i would be grateful. i understand if not and hope you all have a good day regardless. polls will continue as usual.
