When will submissions reopen?
Every time someone asks that I add another month.
Why did you remove the "I know the quote but not the character" option?
Because this blog is about whether you know the Character in the voice clip, not if you recognize the voice line. For example if you've heard the line "A new hand touches the beacon" but only know the line and not who says it (without looking it up) then you vote that you don't know the character.
Why was my submission rejected?
I try not to reject submissions unless I have to. Main reasons for rejection are:
No voiced line in the submission (if it's just someone laughing or making noises that isn't actual dialogue I won't accept it).
Audio Issues (usually too quiet or otherwise unintelligible. I can quickly amplify some audio clips but if it is too quiet I can't amplify without distortion. I also can't edit out background noise or increase the quality of submitted audio files)
Uploading issues (Tumblr just won't let me upload sometimes. Usually this is just stuff clipped from songs or has bgm that triggers tumblr's content ID thing but occasionally its other things and there's nothing I can really do about it sadly)
I can't easily contact people about rejected submissions but I'm happy to answer asks about where submissions are in the queue or if they've been rejected
How do I know about the status of my submission?

I want to discuss the character in a submission but don't want to spoil it!
Standard way to do this is to use Rot13 to obscure their name, but any other form of obfuscation should work (except putting it behind a read more, that'll still show up in notifications). Also discussing the source material is OK, as well as reblogging to a side-blog dedicated to the source material. Finally once the poll has expired (should be 7 days after it is posted) you can talk about the character to your heart's content, even if the official answer hasn't been posted yet.

I don't endorse any of the media that is posted on here, nor do I keep track of what's considered problematic this week or do background checks on each submission. So long as the audio clip in question meets tumblr's terms of service (and doesn't get rejected for other reasons) it'll probably be added to the queue.

🕯️ As of August 10th 2026, this mod's development has ceased. It lasted a strong ten years and was the face of Terraria modding, being well-loved by millions and noted for its amazing soundtrack and expansive additions to the game. This mod was important to many people, myself included. It came to my life during a very difficult time, and introduced me to so many new people and communities that I still am a part of now. I would not be where I am without the support I received by having people and something to love.
The loss of this mod is tragic. It had a significant cultural impact on the modding scene. It fostered tons of people to learn spriting, programming, and music. It created infinite friendships. And for many people, it holds precious childhood memories, given how old it is. There are countless unfulfilled dreams for the future of the mod - it was never even finished.
For those unaware, on August 8th, it was revealed to the world that the owner of the mod had been involved with sexting minors, as well as leading aggressive intimidation and silencing campaigns to keep this from coming out. This is on the back of the previous owner who had been ousted for the same thing - but the new owner had covered up his involvement, hence how he came to power without opposition. The development team was disillusioned and blindsided by this, and many contributors of art and music assets requested their media be pulled from the game. Between these two factors, the development team decided to cease working on the game.
The situation since has been rather messy. The ex-new owner has been MIA and is withholding thousands of dollars owed to the development team. He locked them out of editing the website and the GitHub. The sheer amount of pulled assets was impossible to do, and so the development team reached an agreement with requesters to "freeze" the mod in its current state and cease all development instead. I have learned of tons of smaller details that add to the evil qualities of the ex-new owner, the scrapped plans of the hopeful developers, and infinite stories of devastated fans. It would be too much for a post here.
If you would like to support the developers screwed over by the withheld funds, they're currently doing some charity streams. Excess funds will be donated to the Trevor Project. The mod's Discord server also contains several links to kofis, as well as some of the projects the developers moved to.

I would like to stress that the developer team did not know of the new owner's involvement. This happened from 2020-2022, and those "in the know" were either the victims, or people who had been intentionally silenced and discredited. People who did know are no longer on the development team, most having left in 2022 and the focus been on the original owner as opposed to the man who would become the new one years later. I am simply grateful that this information could finally come to light despite the uphill battle the victims faced.

oh yeah, there was something i was wondering about last time submissions opened. would it be a good idea to have a standard for name order for answers where the voice actor/character has an asian name? eastern name order (family name, given name) is used in some asian countries (and hungary, apparently), but names are sometimes converted to western order when localized to english. eastern order is most commonly used with korean names (e.g. 'bong joon ho') and chinese names (e.g. 'wang yibo'). japanese names have historically been changed to western order in english (e.g. 'hayao miyazaki'), but it seems like there's been a push for retaining eastern name order in recent years. on the other hand people who go by a western given name ('steven yeun') or immigrants using an asian name in a western country ('ke huy quan') usually use western name order.
soz for the yap it's really not a big deal, there's just a small chance the same person gets tagged under two different names (i was just curious lol). a common way to cover all bases in fandoms for japanese media is to just tag both name orders. then there's also the issue of inconsistent romanization (e.g. ō vs oh vs ou) but that's a whole other can of worms...
i go by what people submit and nothing else. if people put the last name first, then that's what's credited. if people typo, i do not notice and will put it in the post. if you want this push to happen here you will have to get it in the audience to do that, because i am not double checking what every actor prefers.

Has the follower count gone down because of that poll
i dont keep track of follower count on any blog i run. it's just not a number ive ever cared about, tumblr isnt really a clout website. i know vaguely that there's over 6k people and i need to keep personal details tight because of that, but thats it.
