When will submissions reopen?
Every time someone asks that I add another month.
Why did you remove the "I know the quote but not the character" option?
Because this blog is about whether you know the Character in the voice clip, not if you recognize the voice line. For example if you've heard the line "A new hand touches the beacon" but only know the line and not who says it (without looking it up) then you vote that you don't know the character.
Why was my submission rejected?
I try not to reject submissions unless I have to. Main reasons for rejection are:
No voiced line in the submission (if it's just someone laughing or making noises that isn't actual dialogue I won't accept it).
Audio Issues (usually too quiet or otherwise unintelligible. I can quickly amplify some audio clips but if it is too quiet I can't amplify without distortion. I also can't edit out background noise or increase the quality of submitted audio files)
Uploading issues (Tumblr just won't let me upload sometimes. Usually this is just stuff clipped from songs or has bgm that triggers tumblr's content ID thing but occasionally its other things and there's nothing I can really do about it sadly)
I can't easily contact people about rejected submissions but I'm happy to answer asks about where submissions are in the queue or if they've been rejected
How do I know about the status of my submission?

I want to discuss the character in a submission but don't want to spoil it!
Standard way to do this is to use Rot13 to obscure their name, but any other form of obfuscation should work (except putting it behind a read more, that'll still show up in notifications). Also discussing the source material is OK, as well as reblogging to a side-blog dedicated to the source material. Finally once the poll has expired (should be 7 days after it is posted) you can talk about the character to your heart's content, even if the official answer hasn't been posted yet.

I don't endorse any of the media that is posted on here, nor do I keep track of what's considered problematic this week or do background checks on each submission. So long as the audio clip in question meets tumblr's terms of service (and doesn't get rejected for other reasons) it'll probably be added to the queue.

oh yeah, there was something i was wondering about last time submissions opened. would it be a good idea to have a standard for name order for answers where the voice actor/character has an asian name? eastern name order (family name, given name) is used in some asian countries (and hungary, apparently), but names are sometimes converted to western order when localized to english. eastern order is most commonly used with korean names (e.g. 'bong joon ho') and chinese names (e.g. 'wang yibo'). japanese names have historically been changed to western order in english (e.g. 'hayao miyazaki'), but it seems like there's been a push for retaining eastern name order in recent years. on the other hand people who go by a western given name ('steven yeun') or immigrants using an asian name in a western country ('ke huy quan') usually use western name order.
soz for the yap it's really not a big deal, there's just a small chance the same person gets tagged under two different names (i was just curious lol). a common way to cover all bases in fandoms for japanese media is to just tag both name orders. then there's also the issue of inconsistent romanization (e.g. Ε vs oh vs ou) but that's a whole other can of worms...
i go by what people submit and nothing else. if people put the last name first, then that's what's credited. if people typo, i do not notice and will put it in the post. if you want this push to happen here you will have to get it in the audience to do that, because i am not double checking what every actor prefers.

Has the follower count gone down because of that poll
i dont keep track of follower count on any blog i run. it's just not a number ive ever cared about, tumblr isnt really a clout website. i know vaguely that there's over 6k people and i need to keep personal details tight because of that, but thats it.
