Warriors was difficult to pin down, monster wise. I had a hard time deciding what fit an army captain/medic/well-put-together hero, because he's certainly not monstrous. At one point I considered "dragon", but that's more fantasy mythology than Halloween. I'm happy to say that settling on "war ghost" fits him rather well in my mind.
He gets to keep his elegance and air of mystery, and is a bit of a performer (removing his head is a parlor trick any ghost can do, he wasn't beheaded or in any pain). In fact, "ghost status" puts him more in line with the Hero's Spirit or Hero's Shade; a ghostly mentor who watches over the well-being of others. And of course, just like in LU, he holds many facets of his character close, so only a select few really know his deep secrets. Very much a ghost-vibe. =)

Zoey is the daughter of two kingdoms that were united under her parents’ betrothal
It did NOT go well
They’re still together on paper for their kingdom’s sake but live separately
Zoey’s been left alone most of the time as a result
Mira only became a knight because her parents told her it was unbecoming of a woman
She loves it
Mira is one of the youngest knights and thus gets along with Zoey who’s lonely and desperate for friendship
Zoey pulls her rank to get Mira assigned as her personal knight
They start to develop feelings for each other obviously - lots of fun flirting and trying to be sneaky around the castle
Rumi’s mother was a human and her father was a dragon - probably in a somewhat human form unless you wanna be freaky like that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (no judgement)
Rumi’s parents were killed by the King’s Guard after their relationship and daughter were found out and they were protecting each other
Celine, Rumi’s mother’s closest friend ended up taking her and running
She teaches Rumi to read/speak/masquerade as a human
Rumi can shift between half-dragon and human like her father - still has patterns though
Rumi’s innate love for shiny objects/gems leads her to jewelry work
Rumi meets Mira/Zoey when she’s hired to design a crown for the princess’s birthday
Celine is FURIOUS because of what happened to her parents but Rumi is determined to make this work
The girls find out when Rumi takes a hit meant for Zoey - until then Mira is very cautious/cold toward Rumi
Half-dragon Rumi is very possessive and clingy
100% lizard vibes of sun tanning and living in the warmth
also the lizard brainTM she is kinda dumb
Zoey loves braiding Rumi’s hair and “mane” along her tail
Rumi is much taller/more buff in dragon form (think She Ra lol)
Zoey realizes Rumi is lowkey a kleptomaniac and hoards shiny things and things she likes - Zoey loves to spoil her with gifts
Zoey let’s Rumi stay at the castle because she’s left alone and can do what she wants
Half-dragon form Rumi will catch and eat palace rats/snakes/lizards which freaks/grosses them out (lots of “no Rumi” and “drop it Rumi”)
It also gives her human form indigestion and regrets :(

I don't know I'm not done talking about it. It's insane that I can't just uninstall Edge or Copilot. That websites require my phone number to sign up. That people share their contacts to find their friends on social media.
I wouldn't use an adblocker if ads were just banners on the side funding a website I enjoy using and want to support. Ads pop up invasively and fill my whole screen, I misclick and get warped away to another page just for trying to read an article or get a recipe.
Every app shouldn't be like every other app. Instagram didn't need reels and a shop. TikTok doesn't need a store. Instagram doesn't need to be connected to Facebook. I don't want my apps to do everything, I want a hub for a specific thing, and I'll go to that place accordingly.
I love discord, but so much information gets lost to it. I don't want to join to view things. I want to lurk on forums. I want to be a user who can log in and join a conversation by replying to a thread, even if that conversation was two days ago. I know discord has threads, it's not the same. I don't want to have to verify my account with a phone number. I understand safety and digital concerns, but I'm concerned about information like that with leaks everywhere, even with password managers.
I shouldn't have to pay subscriptions to use services and get locked out of old versions. My old disk copy of photoshop should work. I should want to upgrade eventually because I like photoshop and supporting the business. Adobe is a whole other can of worms here.
Streaming is so splintered across everything. Shows release so fast. Things don't get physical releases. I can't stream a movie I own digitally to friends because the share-screen blocks it, even though I own two digital copies, even though I own a physical copy.
I have an iPod, and I had to install a third party OS to easily put my music on it without having to tangle with iTunes. Spotify bricked hardware I purchased because they were unwillingly to upkeep it. They don't pay their artists. iTunes isn't even iTunes anymore and Apple struggles to upkeep it.
My TV shows me ads on the home screen. My dad lost access to eBook he purchased because they were digital and got revoked by the company distributing them. Hitman 1-3 only runs online most of the time. Flash died and is staying alive because people love it and made efforts to keep it up.
I have to click "not now" and can't click "no". I don't just get emails, they want to text me to purchase things online too. My windows start search bar searches online, not just my computer. Everything is blindly called an app now. Everything wants me to upload to the cloud. These are good tools! But why am I forced to use them! Why am I not allowed to own or control them?
No more!!!!! I love my iPod with so much storage and FLAC files. I love having all my fics on my harddrive. I love having USBs and backups. I love running scripts to gut suck stuff out of my Windows computer I don't want that spies on me. I love having forums. I love sending letters. I love neocities and webpages and webrings. I will not be scanning QR codes. Please hand me a physical menu. If I didn't need a smartphone for work I'd get a "dumb" phone so fast. I want things to have buttons. I want to use a mouse. I want replaceable batteries. I want the right to repair. I grew up online and I won't forget how it was!

We all know what erectile dysfunction is but literally no one is ever taught what vaginismus is and it can cause people to feel extremely lost, broken, and cause people to take their own lives.
Raise. Awareness.
For the uninformed, vaginismus is when the vagina painfully tightens and spasms when faced with pressure, usually from anything trying to insert into the vagina. It’s the reason I can’t wear tampons, and why many people can’t have vaginal sex without severe pain.
There’s not a lot of treatments, and there isn’t a single one that is for vaginismus exclusively - they’re all medications or treatments to treat symptoms, but not the causes. In fact, for a long time doctors waved off vaginismus as a purely psychological disorder in cis women.
Seriously, this is so unaddressed and uncared for in medical circles. Please spread awareness, even if all it’s for is to let those who have it but don’t have a name for it finally be able to understand what’s happening to their bodies.
Hi hello! This post is almost 10 years old and there ARE treatments for this. Vaginismus is otherwise known as pelvic hypertonia and it is a MUSCULAR condition that can be caused by many different factors including endometriosis, trauma, chronic UTIs, and connective tissue disorders.
It’s incredibly common! And it can be treated by physiotherapy.
I know this because I’m currently undergoing physio and although it can take months to recover, I’m already seeing improvement. A lot of the pelvic floor exercises are available online, but if you have these symptoms please TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR and see if you can get a physio referral (or investigation for underlying causes like endometriosis).
Also, my additions to posts never get reblogged so a note to my followers: this is SUPER IMPORTANT ISSUE that affects many people and is rarely talked about. Please reblog, and please share this info with as many people as possible.
Pelvic hypertonia/vaginismus is incredibly debilitating and psychologically damaging but it CAN BE TREATED. Spread the word, and you never know who you’ll be throwing a lifeline to.
When I was a kid I kept failing classes because I'd lose my homework. I'd finish it, but between the dining room table and the classroom it would just walk away. Sometimes it ended up in my backpack, sometimes it didn't; sometimes I finished the homework at school and it got home in my backpack but wasn't there the next day.
To attempt to address this, my parents got me a neon orange folder to put in my backpack; it was my homework folder, all homework was to go into that folder and that folder only, and it was to only come out of that folder when it was being worked on. I was to put homework in the homework folder as soon as it was assigned and if I'd worked on it, put it back in the folder as soon as it was finished. The logic here was that using the folder was supposed to be automatic, and you wanted a bright color so it wouldn't get lost in the depths of a backpack.
I think I lost about eight of those before my parents stopped buying orange folders.
So it was very frustrating to search "how to be organized at work as an adult with ADHD" only to get a list that said "set alarms and write things down and try to make friends with a more organized person" which was immediately followed by tips to help your ADHD child stay organized and the one right at the top was to put their homework in a bright folder so they couldn't lose it.
If you have been harmed by the ADHD Tips Industrial Complex you may be entitled to a packet of fun-dip and a cactus cooler as consolation for losing your homework folder again.

Large Bastard has walked into my office and stood behind me to tell me that the alarm was going off on the computer I was working at.
The alarm is fake if it doesn't have actual consequences and I'm in the middle of an email because if I look away from the email it will disappear so the email must be finished and sent before I can dismiss the alarm - what do you mean that meeting started five minutes ago?
Large Bastard also has ADHD and ignores his own alarms but we hear each other's alarms because MY alarm is background noise but YOUR alarm is annoying.
ADHD couple of all time. I got to tell the story again today about how we spent weeks looking for our humidifier only for me to find it on the mantel in a high traffic area but it was invisible because it had sat in the same place for too long for either of us to see it. (Only reason I saw it was because I opened a door on an unusually bright day and accidentally illuminated it with a sunbeam).
My cat cricket absolutely hates alarms and screams and bites me if one is going off. She can hear my partner's alarm through the bedroom door and comes and gets me via screaming and biting to go turn it off.
Many times I've been drawing or playing a game and suddenly the fluffy Mcfuck appears, completely blocking my view of the screen and threatening to bite me if I don't turn the alarm off.
No idea how to train that behaviour in an animal though. But it's very helpful.
actually the craziest impact animorphs has had on me is that i never really got an urge to eat cinnamon buns from reading them BUT the phrase "the refreshing beverage known as vinegar" has forced its way into my head every other week for years to try and convince me it would be a good idea to chug a whole glass of it
Vinegar is what we used to use as the acid in our sodas before we switched to Carbonated Water in the 19th century, and vinegar-based sodas trace their roots all the way back to the Bronze Age Meditteranean! The Romans called it Posca! The Ottomans adopted it from the Romans and called it Sharab, which means "Drink", and then American colonists acquired the recipe from the Ottomans in the 17th century and changed the name to Shrub!
There's a famous example of Posca that most people misremember because we don't drink Vinegar much anymore. If you're familiar with the Crucifixion of Jesus in the Bible, you probably remember the bit about the Roman soldier offering Jesus a sponge full of vinegar to drink. Most people think the Roman dude was mocking Jesus, but that's wrong. That was a sponge full of Posca. The Roman dude was like "Well this sucks. Want a Sprite?"
...Fun fact, I know this because the phrase "Refreshing Beverage known as Vinegar" got stuck in my head one night at work, and I started googling "Does anybody drink vinegar". I had to know. It turns out the answer is yes! And you can still find vinegar-based soft drinks today! Switchel is a vinegar-and-ginger drink you can find at some bars in the US, and it goes back to pre-carbonated soft drinks.
Also, I know several people who drink pickle juice regularly, and white vinegar is a key component of pickle juice! So that's also where vinegar as a drink can pop up in your day to day life.
There's also a trendy New Age beverage called fire cider that's literally just vinegar, cinnamon, spice, and pretensions. RIP Ax, you would've loved the fire cider craze.
oh yes -- before I had surgery to fix the problem I used to get terrible headaches when my sinus passages would get inflamed and swell shut. Often the inflammation was from dehydration, and when it was I could drink posca and get some relief, since it rehydrates faster than plain water and takes the swelling down.
My recipe was a shot glass's worth of vinegar, a spoonful of sugar, and a pinch of salt, then top off with 16-20 oz of water. Tastes kind of lemony, very nice.
