thankfully i was lucky enough to have an extremely good experience with my stay but thats not always the case. most times people have very bad and sometimes even trauma after staying in a ward.

when i go on tiktok and search psych wards all i see are videos romanticizing a traumatic place,

ive heard stories of people being sa’d, abused, forcibly getting sedated, and more.

we need to stop the romantization of traumatic places, ive seen people say “going to the grippy sock jail!! 😻🤪”, or “going on a grippy sock vacation!!” LIKE NO. thats not what its like and its not a vacation and you need to stop treating it like it is one.

this post isnt to scare people into not getting help its to show people that psych wards arent fun. but if youre in a crisis and feel like you need professional help by all means go check yourself into the ER.
