a song for flowers

his habit of being overly kind to others to the point where he tries so desperately to understand others is said again and again to be a weakness. he tries so hard that it's detrimental to his health, and he misses what someone may truly need. being kind and welcoming to others to the extent that he does is something that hurts him in the end. the root of his healing is the fact that all life is precious, and pure vanilla has to deal with the fact again and again that he cannot save everyone.

but, if you think about it -- what kind of character is the kind who refuses to accept compliments? someone who thinks very little of himself. pure vanilla hasn't allowed himself to linger on his thoughts for too long since white lily's death, but i can't help but think about how he feels about himself right now.

i think pure vanilla must feel a lot of regret for feelings left unsaid, in the end. he's suffering so much in canon right now, but i'd like to think that his regret in white lily's death and the route that he had to take to defeat dark enchantress will motivate him to truly try to save shadow milk

and i can't help but think that pure vanilla is the one who can truly understand him. shadow milk who once took the burden of helping countless cookies, and pure vanilla who works tirelessly to do the same thing.
