Because, right...when Whitaker gets his fingernail smashed while moving a patient, Santos ribs him for it, but still takes care of him afterward despite having things she'd very much rather be doing. She's all into the procedures and showing off, but she still helps the little monk-ass farmboy when he hurts himself on the job.

And then there's Ogilvie, who sees Joy cut her finger in a very symbolically similar way...and smirks, presumably because he thinks it's satisfying recompense for her needling of him. Could not possibly give less of a shit. Enjoys it.
