Illustrations for Tyler Rhodes; a project in which children created speculative evolutionary trees, and I had the fun task of illustrating some of the resulting species :)
In order to do good worldbuilding you need to be able to think politically and that requires understanding politics
How do the gnomes of the mushroom village govern themselves and how do they determine the legitimacy of the Giggleking who rules them? These are questions you must be able to answer.

Finishing part 6 in anticipation of Steel Ball Run has really showed a level of flexibility in gender portrayed in characters of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure that I feel like I hardly see anywhere else.
I started reading some of the manga too. There is something about what the series celebrates and values that feels so natural. And yet, they don't scream traditional in so many ways that feels refreshing sometimes.
Video games kinda suck at designing female heroes
In 2002, the photographer Howard Schatz published a photo collection called "Athlete" featuring pictures of, well, various top athletes from every sport and genre. These are some of the women he photographed, and the thing I want you to do in your head is compare the variety of humans that you're seeing here to the variety of humans you see in the cast list of your favourite video games.
These women are all in peak human condition for their fields - if you wanted to design a character who is tough and strong, these are the kinds of bodies you should look to for reference on what that looks like. You tell me how many video games or comics or movies or anime create their characters with even this limited variety in shape and size.
Of course, realism is not the end-all and be-all, fantasy characters don't need to be realistic, but if you are given the chance to make a character look like literally anything and justify it by "magic," and the only thing you do is reproduce the same 3 or 4 generically hot women over and over again, you are doing character design very poorly, in my opinion.

Really want to post my rant here which started with me talking about male figures and art and ended in me monologuing about the sheer love of universe as a whole. Do you want
Boom love beam under cut
I really whish that mens beauty was appreciated as art as much as womens beauty is. I hate both women and men being sexualised. I hate male gaze and I hate female gaze also. I need us all to look at bodies and faces and clothing and think of it as art.
I need people to go through life and appreciate the art of it, the art of a fallen tree, the art of pigeons gathering in the underground passage because its warmer there, a child playing in the snow with no care for it getting in every crack of its clothing.
I digress..

Im going to cry I love art so much I love you I love life I love talking to people I love looking at people I love being tired I live being energised I love working I love hobbying I love walking I love sitting I love the world I love people and I want people to love people and I want people to appreciate people and I want people to see art oh my god please see art, I love you so much and I need you to create I need you to show and love and express yourself because what do you live for if not for expressing your soul what is this mortal shell of your soul os if not a tool to bring a piece of yourself into the immortal world, to appreciate and to he appreciated, to love and to be loved
I need. I need people to live. I want to watch people live. I want to watch people smile. I want to know people are smiling m i want to make people smile. I want people to make people smile. I want so much from this world and yes I belie I deserve for my wants to become reality because what is me if not an amalgamation of wants and feelings. And if im that what I say I am. And if I'm a living being who is the consequence of past art, the universe is an artist. And your wants will be made real, because you love and you are loved by the air you breathe and the sky you see. Look at the sky. Smile at it and say you love it. Because it loves you. Do you feel it? Do you feel my love to you specifically? I need you to feel it. And greater than it I need to know you smiled. Because I live it so much.
Im going to cry.

The answer to "How did these Ancient People do this????" is basically always
1. A lot of dudes. Just a ton of fucking people from beginning to end of the process.
2. Ancient people weren't stupid, they just figured shit out the same way we do: fuck around until you find out.
3. We're gonna plan this out and it's gonna take ten fucking years, and you will cope.
4. Sticks and string are surprisingly versatile and can be used for a variety of purposes, like moving stuff and making sure things are even and go in the spot you wanted to put them in!
5. I want to make this easier and more efficient to move. If I put this on the round thing and push, it will move. If I put this in water, it will move. If I get some animals and rope and have a whole bunch of them drag it, it will move. All of these things are a better option than one guy trying to pick the whole fucking thing up.
Agnaktor - The Fire Leviathan
Well; here it is - far and away my longest project so far. Will eventually have a lava-coated variant (among others) but I wanted a clean version shown in a swimming pose - despite being a leviathan you almost never see this guy depicted swimming, so I thought that might be neat. Assume this is very transparent lava.
Learned a lot granular technique stuff concerning baking that had somehow escaped me in my career up until this point; but I'm reasonably happy where it ended up and I've massively improved across the length of the work so my next thing is gonna actually be good. Feel free to ask any questions about my process or work if you have them!
Twitter has had a days long discussion about things they like about dark souls 2 stemming from this post so here's some highlights
Iâm gonna report every single one of those âShapes incâ ads as malicious, cause those stupid ai chatbot sites ARE malicious and also cause theyâre directly using copyrighted characters and shit, you know

New 'scimitar-crested' Spinosaurus species discovered in the central Sahara
by University of Chicago Medical Center
A paper published in Science describes the discovery of Spinosaurus mirabilis, a new spinosaurid species found in Niger. A 20-person team led by Paul Sereno, Ph.D., Professor of Organismal Biology and Anatomy at the University of Chicago, unearthed the find at a remote locale in the central Sahara, adding important new fossil finds to the closing chapter of spinosaurid evolution...
