You gotta make peace with being on bad terms with people you still care about, and also make peace with situations where you knew you did no wrong but was painted as the bad guy anyway. Shit hurts, but it’s life

having a permanent full time job is you thinking to yourself “so this is really the rest of my life huh” as you come home every single day before using your 4 hours of recreational activity to do nothing and then going to bed

Alternatives to “my body hates me”
my body is misguided, but it is still working really hard to keep me alive
My immune system is trying really hard to protect me from danger, even if if it’s confused about what the danger is
My body is trying to tell me something with this pain, even if I already know the answer
My body has to work a lot harder than most because of my genetics, but it’s doing the best it can
My body is trying to tell me to slow down and take care of myself
It took me several months to make the switch, but it really did have a big impact on my mental health. Feeling like you are being punished by your body sucks!
So this post is kinda old now, and I just wanted to come back to it and talk about the impact it’s continued to have on my life. As I’ve bought into it more and more I’ve benefited a huge amount. It’s actually hard to stress enough how much of a difference this has made over time.
I don’t feel like I’m being punished anymore, I don’t feel like I’m fighting. I’m less angry, less sad, more free. My symptoms are much easier to manage bc I see them as communication not punishment… Idk it’s just been so so so helpful & I really recommend trying out different ways of thinking about your body & illness bc small shifts in perspective can be huge sometimes
Things I Have Said to My Body:
Thank you for working so hard.
I know this isn’t easy.
I know you’re trying.
You are valiant and I admire you.
The odds are against us. You’re a champion for getting me this far.
Oh I like those!
A fabulous tip and some great scripts!

The human body is such a marvellously complex machine, I just wish it would be a little less complex so we could repair it more easily. But I’m pretty sure my body is doing its best with the cards it has been dealt. It’s not hurting me on purpose. I need to not only be kind with myself but to be kind to my body.
@inkstainsonmyskin what we were talking about awhile ago trying to be grateful for what your body does do.
Trying to steer away from “my body hates me”
Thinking “my body is doing its best with the materials it was given” has really changed things for me. Like not in a big, huge way, but in smaller ways I didn’t know I needed.
I need to start saying this because im always dissin on my body when it attacks itself.
