hi friends! just wanted to let you know that starting monday, i'll probably be on tumblr a lot less. the good news is: i'm starting a new job! bad news is: i'll have a lot less free time to goof off on here with all you lovely people. I'm gonna try to not be a stranger or disappear entirely, but I'll likely be lurking a lot less and be slower to respond to things. Just know, I'm okay! nothing terrible has happened, my mental health is fine, I'm just busy. 🫶
please still tag me in things! still gonna try to do creative things like writing and music, i just don't know how much time or energy i'll have left after working all day.

its dumb but life can become more fulfilling as you get older... like im planting a garden for the first time on my new balcony and i have flowers blooming and duck eggs to bake with... I'm drying herbs in my pantry... i have yarn coming for a new summer set, the gouache i bought is so fun to paint with...the women in my garden club are reaching out to me to share cuttings from their aloes and hoyas... ive been baking sour dough bread every other week.. idk man.... maybe it just is all this you know
Summer has settled over us in earnest. The orchards are finally heavy with fruit, branches bowing beneath their bounty, and I find myself grateful almost daily for the little pond nearby. There are few pleasures quite as simple as slipping into cool water after a long day beneath the sun. The children certainly agree, and I am happy to report they can all swim now, which has spared me a great deal of worrying.
Funny, how life turned out, isn't it?
How have you been? It has been many months since we last spoke, and since our paths parted. I have found myself wondering where the road has carried you, what sights you have seen, and whether fortune has treated you kindly.
Please write when you are able. It would ease my mind greatly to know that this letter finds you safe, healthy, and in good spirits. If writing proves difficult, find a wizard willing to cast a Sending—or use one already at hand—and let me know you are well. And if you are not well, if you find yourself in need of help, do not hesitate to reach out.
The invitation remains open, as it always has. Should your travels bring you anywhere near us, our door, our table, and our hearts will be glad to welcome you.
All my love,
Celeste
((why would Ileleste learn writing when he has wizard for that? Him hair look like sun through leaves. Is good enough for us. My aszurja prefer hot pools here in Imberlur. Very good for horrible knees. Many salts and minerals to make him skin more softly than silk.
The Tara does not like the water, but she like to lay on hot rock close by and do many snoozing. Sometimes Ragar is splash her. On the accident, of course. Ragar is love the swim.
Ragar's childs love the swim too. I worry at first but is instinct. Okay. Creatures who do not have the instinct must no swim. Do not trust this 'learn'. What horrid surface creatures live in pond? Halsin love them surface childs as if he birth them. Celeste must protect.
Gale want to teach Ileleste's son the swim now, after reading letter, so Ileleste must venture on to find shrine of Umberlee. Sure there is one down here, since the sixth cavern drowned. Ileleste see the fins of creatures flashing in the dark; hear the soft turns of the water as they move in the dark. In the creaking nets we find only small fish for eating, fewer each moon, but out there in the dark the water turns around bigger things. Surely someone is appease her; to turn the tide away. Eilistraae is .... busy, Ileleste thinks.
Great Grandmother Sussur tells me Celeste is invite to table. Is enclosing secret map of surface worship site. If Celeste be there one moon, the Sisters will find and bring you through the tunnels.
If Gale and I be here, of course. The whole world be out there, and us three be in cage no more.
Except Ragar daughter of course. She should be in cage. She be slicing the Gale with her claws, and be too black-furred for him to see in dark, eyes too wide to see yellow rim like sun. He defend self with letter. Is much fun watch her slice. Is why her name be Jivvin - Jivvin Quui'elghinn get down! Defame House of Silkleaf with behaviours! Leave curtain be!))
A thought occurred to me last night... would Astarion drinking from stoned characters just make him more stoned? Like if you try to solve the munchies by eating more edibles.

I’ve seen a few reblogs of Wyll’s spider-licking line lately, and I want to remind you of the other thing Wyll can say here, because if you think this one’s sassy… hooo boy 🤣😅🥵
Because y'all need to hear how he says this line. 🥵
I watched Deadpool & Wolverine very late and my brain had to process things. plus I finally wanted to draw Lae. Hope you enjoy this nonsense crossover.
one of the funniest things to me about Durge surviving the nautiloid crash is that Gortash is literally the last person to find out about it. Sceleritas Fel knows, Balthazar knows, Ketheric knows, Orin knows, all the true souls at Moonrise know and literally no one bothers to tell him until Durge has walked all the way back to Baldur’s Gate despite the fact that Gortash would obviously want that information and they all know it. Huge angst potential tbh but also objectively hilarious that everyone hates Gortash and Durge so much that they seem to just be withholding the information out of spite.

...And talk about a certain visitor in Gale's tower.
A "cut scene" of sorts from my current ongoing Gale x Minthara fic, What Comes After. Full snippet below. :)
_________
She had noticed her son smiling more often.
This, in itself, was not unusual. He had always been a radiant boy— her one and only child!— and so it shouldn't have been any great shock to see him thus when he finally returned to Waterdeep. He had rid himself of the terrible orb in his chest, patched things up with Mystra, and recommitted to his duties at Blackstaff and the mage's guild. To say nothing of the heroism he had displayed fighting during that Absolute business further south. Of course he should be smiling— who wouldn't be, in his position?
But there was something else. Call it divination, or a mothers intuition, but Morena Dekarios knew well that there was some other mischief at play here; some other power that had caused the twitch at the corners of his mouth and the sparkle within his eye.
And so, like any good mother, she did what was necessary: she snooped.
Discretely, of course. She may have been a gossip, but she wasn't a brute. Her methods were meticulous. An idle question floated to a family friend, a breezy inquiry with a shared acquaintance… but try as she might, there was no word, no hint at what had caused her son's sudden change in demeanor. She had almost despaired of finding anything at all until at last, a casual remark from his elderly neighbor had turned up just the sort of information she had been looking for.
Armed with this new sliver of intel, Morena settled in to have brunch with her son that Suneday; a pleasant return to the old rituals they had held when he was a much younger man. As he entered, she noted the slight smile at his lips again and rose to greet him.
"How have you been, my sweet boy? I feel as if I haven't seen you in an age."
"Ah, but you've been spoiled by my return! I'm quite well, though, thank you."
"That's all? Just 'quite well'…?"
He laughed. "Well, yes. My current research continues on unabated, as I've told you; and that is more than enough for me." He paused, reaching across the table for a biscuit. "Though, I'll be the first to admit that I've had no shortage of complications over the last tenday. The sourcing of components for higher level spells is only the latest. Did you know Phalantar has nearly doubled his prices since my return to the city? I nearly fainted when I saw what they're charging for—"
"—You know full well that's not what I meant."
Gale blinked at her. Morena leaned across the table, lowering her voice so the others in the cafe might not hear. It wouldn't do to embarrass him— he could grow cross and secretive, if questioned too sharply. She tapped her finger on the table cloth and lowered her voice.
"I only mean… is she there?"
"I'm sorry, I'm afraid I'm not following…?"
"Your old traveling companion. Staying at your tower," she said slowly, emphasizing the words. "Did you think your old mother had fallen into dotage so soon?" She took the knife and slathered her biscuit with butter, narrowly avoiding the temptation to point it at him. "It's hard to miss the marks of a woman's touch on your living space."
She was far too civilized to voice her opinions on the choice of mushrooms for a bouquet in a formal dining room; though to her dismay, Gale seemed to pick up on them anyway. His eyes dropped to his plate.
"Her name is Minthara. She's only visiting for a spell."
"A spell? Is that a tenday? Three tenday? Longer?"
"I don't know. She hasn't said."
"I see. And do you like this girl?" she ventured cautiously. "I don't remember you talking about her as much as the other… Laevelle, was it?"
"Lae'zel. She resides in the Astral, now. We remain good friends—"
"And Minthara? Is she a good friend, also?"
Gale sighed. If Morena were pressed for a description of it on the spot, she'd almost call it dreamy; but for the slump in the set of his shoulders.
"Yes, mother, we are friends. And friends only. And she might even find reason to object to that term."
Morena bristled. A cruelty bordering on absurdity, that her sweet son seemed so drawn to those who would so readily discard him. She watched as he pushed his food around his plate in the same manner he had done as young boy when he felt out of sorts. A swell of love rose within her.
"If that's true, then she's sorely mistaken," she said softly, reaching across the table to take his hand. "Anyone would be lucky to have you as a friend, or anything else."
Gale smiled weakly at her. Morena smiled in return and gave his fingers a squeeze.
"In fact, I know of at least three girls down at my tea shop who—"
"—Let's not speak of them again, please," said Gale quickly, and withdrew his hand at once.
