Deep beneath the earth, in total darkness, something unseen waits in the silence…
Experience The Beast in the Cave by H.P. Lovecraft in this haunting, human-narrated tale of isolation, fear, and creeping horror.
Lost within the endless passages of a vast cave system, a lone traveler wanders through blackness with no sense of direction and no promise of escape. As the silence grows heavier and the air turns cold, distant sounds begin to echo through the stone—footsteps, movement, and the terrible suggestion that something else is trapped in the dark with him. What begins as fear of being lost soon becomes a confrontation with something far more unsettling.
Rich with atmosphere and mounting dread, The Beast in the Cave is one of Lovecraft’s earliest horror stories, where darkness, isolation, and the unknown converge beneath the world above.
Ideal for late-night listening, background ambiance, or drifting into uneasy sleep.

In a quiet university room, an old picture begins to change… and something terrible moves within the frame.
Experience The Mezzotint by M.R. James in this haunting, human-narrated tale of cursed art, hidden history, and supernatural dread.
When a seemingly ordinary print arrives for review, its strange details begin to draw uneasy attention. At first, the image appears harmless enough—a dark house beneath the night sky, still and silent. But as the picture is examined again and again, impossible changes begin to appear within it, revealing a slow and dreadful scene that should not exist. What begins as curiosity soon becomes a glimpse into a horror tied to vengeance, memory, and the restless past.
someone: hey I noticed this thing you did in your writing!
me, kicking my feet up flirtatiously: oh??? do you want to hear my thoughts on why I did that? do you want a play-by-play of the language choices in every related sentence? do you want an exhaustive breakdown of The Themes???

Deep beneath the streets of Boston, an artist paints things no human eye should ever see…
Experience Pickman’s Model by H.P. Lovecraft in this haunting, human-narrated tale of obsession, forbidden art, and creeping cosmic horror.
Known for his disturbing genius, the reclusive artist Richard Upton Pickman creates paintings so grotesque and lifelike that even the bravest admirers begin to turn away. But when one man is invited into Pickman’s hidden studio, curiosity leads him into a shadowed world of cellar rooms, secret tunnels, and images that seem far too real to be born from imagination alone. As the truth behind the paintings begins to emerge, admiration gives way to something far more terrifying.
Pickman’s Model is one of Lovecraft’s most unsettling stories—where art, madness, and the unknown converge in the darkness beneath the city.

Beneath the heat and silence of the tropics, something ancient moves where no human eye should follow…
Experience A Tropical Horror by William Hope Hodgson in this haunting, human-narrated tale of isolation, sea-bound terror, and creeping dread.
Far from safety, surrounded by the oppressive stillness of a tropical night, an ordinary voyage begins to turn into something far more terrifying. In the darkness beyond the ship, an unseen presence waits—strange, relentless, and impossible to fully understand. As the fear grows, the vast ocean becomes a trap, and the boundary between the natural world and nightmare begins to disappear.

hey hey! got one of those random art questions you love so much! so im brand spanking new at comics, this will be my first shitty comic.. but iv hit a snag. How do you come up with scenes bc i go blank.. and how do you go about finding references for a specific scenes?
When you get really stuck, the question to ask yourself is "What do I need this scene to communicate?"
Like, what is the POINT of it. Does it have a place in the machinery of the story? As a gear in the narrative, what information does it need to convey?
If it's something more character-driven, what is it that the scene needs to tell the reader about the character?
Once you know this - and only you can know this - I find it helpful then to ask myself: "What do I feel like drawing? What sounds exciting and engaging to me?" Again, only you can answer this. What environment do you want to put the action in? What cool thing do you want the character(s) doing as they're communicating the information that you need to communicate?
Getting yourself excited about the location and circumstances can help fire off your imagination and get other ideas flowing.
References are easy, just google for them! We live in a golden age of artist references.

Inside a quiet workshop, a machine waits across the chessboard… and something inhuman begins to think.
Experience Moxon’s Master by Ambrose Bierce in this haunting, human-narrated tale of obsession, invention, and psychological horror.
When an eccentric thinker argues that machines may possess something like life, the idea seems strange enough on its own. But hidden within his workshop is a creation unlike any ordinary mechanism—a chess-playing machine whose movements suggest more than gears, springs, and clever design. As the game unfolds, curiosity slowly turns to dread, and the boundary between invention and intelligence begins to blur.
