O Holy Spirit, descend plentifully into my heart. Enlighten the dark corners of this neglected dwelling and scatter there Thy cheerful beams.

”I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” (Luke 1:38)
That was Mary's response to the angel, when he told her that she was going to bear God's Son through the power of the Holy Spirit. The Messiah, God’s people had been waiting for hundreds of years. Imagine that! Mary was a virgin, she would surely be scorned as an immoral woman, maybe even stoned. It was unthinkable. But Mary trusted God and wanted to do His will no matter the cost. Perhaps you can relate, perhaps you are facing an insurmountable challenge. Like Mary you want to do God's will for your life. Ask Jesus to help you to stand firm until He brings every promise He's made to you to fruition. Ponder and treasure His Word in your heart and pray for the Lord’s guidance and blessing. May the Lord establish you and fill your heart with joy and peace this Christmas Season.

THE WORD FOR 5/9
Jesus got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Peace! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to His disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey Him!” Mark 4: 39-41
God has allowed you to be where you are right now, where the storm is raging , and you feel you are going to drown. You can barely keep your head above the water.
Just because everything is working against you doesn't mean that you are doing something wrong. When you can't see Him or feel Him, remember, He can see you. He knows what you're facing, He knows you have no strength to hold on. He knows you are still moving forward and you have still kept the faith, saying, " I will not quit."
You are in the storm because you have an enemy who is the enemy of your soul. God allowed you to go through it because He wants to show you His glory. He wants the people around you to know the greatness of the One you serve.
Jesus is the Lord over the floods. He will come walking over the water to rescue you. Refuse to stop praising God, refuse to stop praying. You are going to see the glory of God in and through all this.
Friend, I don't know what time it is where you are, but here it's bedtime. Here is a prayer that you can read out loud when it's bedtime for you. 🙏

Heavenly Father, thank You for seeing me through the day. Thank You for Your guidance and protection throughout the day. Forgive me all my sins and help me to love and forgive others too. As I'm about to sleep, please take my anxieties and fears away and replace them with peace and faith. Please keep my heart safe from the troubles of the night. Guard me through the night and cover me with the blood of Jesus Christ, Amen.” 🙏
