I have interacted virtually zero with the moriarty the patriot fandom and I don't care to particularly but I occasionally think about the fact that the government himself mycroft holmes wrote letters via carrier pigeon to notorious suicidal alcoholic murderer albert james moriarty in prison for three years. And I think there's nothing wrong with wanting albert to be happy after having an absolutely wretched life. But I also think there's a valid take on seeing his relationship with mycroft being very complicated and not at all like an idyllic or domestic lovey partnership. I don't see mycroft that way. And [slaps albert] this big boy can fit so much guilt in him.
What I'm getting at is that my brain concocted a mutually unrequited feelings plotline where albert grapples with his guilt, mycroft with his duties to queen and country, and no one is happy.
Sorry for the late response, it's been. You know, a week. But anyway.
I've been thinking about Ryuu a lot (as I do) and how when he started out as an idol, he was forbidden from using his Okinawan accent, told to embrace the playboy lifestyle of a hotel tycoon's son that he wasn't, be sexy and erotic and everything that he was uncomfortable being. And I've also noticed in a few of his recent cards, that he's portrayed as much paler skinned than normal. Like, this one in particular:
AS attractive as he is, he doesn't have his usual Okinawan skin tone. It's bothered me.
Anyway, that got me thinking about a fic exploring his first experiences working as an idol, pre-debut. Doing a photoshoot but the makeup they're using to doll him up is a skin lightener because his skin tone is "too dark" and it's not really appropriate for an aspiring idol, Okinawan hotel tycoon's son or not. Being teased and mocked on sets and in shoots for not speaking much because he's terrified his Okinawan accent is going to slip out. Being dressed up in objectifying outfits or barely anything at all because he has "the right body to show off" and feeling miserable and uncomfortable with everyone's eyes on him. He did all of it for his family, but he has to be so miserable before he finally becomes closer to Gaku and, eventually, Tenn.
It's all been living rent-free in my head and maybe eventually I'll write it unless someone else far more talented than I does it first, lol
