One of the best things the entire Obi-Wan Kenobi show is doing is drawing unseverable connections between Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker, you cannot deny that this is who Darth Vader is, that the name may have changed, the appearance may have changed, but it was Anakin Skywalker who did all those things Darth Vader did and those things matter to the Star Wars story. It’s showing us that the younglings he murdered matter, they weren’t just a nameless or faceless step on his path to choosing evil, but that they were their own people in their own right. Everything about Reva’s story is giving a voice to those younglings and the way Anakin betrayed them, that their story matters.  Not just because of how it informs his story, but because it’s their story. You can’t just sweep them aside after watching this series.  This is why Reva’s story is so important, because she is the first one to really give names, faces, and voices to the younglings that Anakin slaughtered, that they’re not just background victims, but that the pain and hurt he caused her are the story. That her rage at him is justified and that his actions had consequences for the people he hurt. The march on the Temple isn’t sad just because of what it means for Anakin, it’s sad because:  Look what it did to Reva Sevander.  Look what it took from her, look what it weighed her down with, look how he destroyed her family and her life and everything she had. Her story is her story and that’s a story that shows those younglings weren’t just inanimate chess pieces being moved around on a board, but that they were real little beings who had feelings and family and lives. Those younglings matter.

#and it’s a really a punch in the gut#people will claim anakin was an outcast in the temple or the other jedi didnt trust him#but here you have reva#even as a little girl she recognised anakin skywalker and thought of him as a saviour and protector and a member of their family#she is so angry because he betrayed THEIR family#he turned against those that were HIS to love and protect and who loved and protected him in return#this isnt only a massacre (like with the tuskens)#this is betrayal#why do you think the order 66 theme is called anakin’s betrayal#and reva is so important to this story#theyre showing us the repercussions of order 66#not just on anakin or obi wan#but on the helpless children who lost their entire family and way of life#you see those bunkers and marked walls#you see it in reva who burns with so much hurt and anger and betrayal#and in anakin? you see how unremorseful he is#he is completely indifferent to reva’s anger and hurt#in fact he uses it and twists it to his advantage and disposes of her when he’s done#reva sevander is an amazing character i dont care what anyone else says (via @ruindil) I am in PAIN, how can you make this hurt even more, and yet HERE WE ARE.
