I am a random person on the internet who attempts to write and draw original art like millions of others. I've been trying to learn original writing for years now.

In 2025, I started actually writing and posting real fanfiction. I was too afraid to before, and still kinda am.

I currently go by Essential Power on Ao3 and enjoy reading and writing works about family or siblinghood. I only write something when I have a real idea, which doesn't come often. I'm also a very slow writer. My current long work had an eight-month gap between updates, but the last update was 31K words, so, yeah?

I've also only written for the Gameknight999 fandom so far, which is tiny. Like the tiniest fandom I've seen. I might branch out, and I have a couple ideas for other fandoms, but nothing concrete.

And why does he have elements of both corrupted and default self??? The marking on the eye, the light hair WITH SPARKLES, the cyan irises. Does this confirm the suspicion that parts of his corrupted look were intentionally added, and he's partially in disguise at all times?

Also why is his dough an off-purple? Why are both his pupils white? We've never seen that before in any state of morality. I know for aesthetic meta reasons it likely goes with the Academy palette, but that's a weird thing to do to your (basically) SKIN, right? Imagine dying your whole body! Every day you go to work!

I'm honestly willing to talk about my process and stuff here on tumblr, just not spoilers. I've never finished a novel-length story before, and I'm determined to have this be the one because I know there's 3 people out there who want to know where I'm going with this. It's just a lot of work, and of course it's for an incredibly niche fandom, so it's bound to have low support lol.

Also this IS my first real fanfiction. So I don't know how any of this fanfic stuff works lol.

I might write shorts in the same universe like Life Inside Light? It depends if inspiration strikes me. I need a boost here, and working on something else for once might help. I know I'm saying too much, but typically I work on an original science fantasy whose world and some characters are vaguely based on the GK series, and I stopped work on that altogether since November to make sure I got Part 1 done within a year.

documenting progress

Only got one potential scene left to draft and shove in there if I think it could be good. Otherwise I'm just editing, proofreading, and questioning my past decisions. I'm not sure how worth a full revision would be with the long word count and lack of ideas on how to improve it.

This act is mostly GK stuff, ngl. My take on GK on reestablishing GK at least. It might be a bit depressing. Not sure how many people like this type of angst.

Currently 30,000 words, which is way too long for a first act. I'll work on editing things to sound less awkward and hopefully lower the word count. I was originally aiming for 20,000, despite knowing exactly that this sort of thing would happen, considering my style.

I am nearing the final stage of writing the first part of my GK long fic.

But I have an issue.

You see, I am taking concepts from the series that weren't used too much, like the mysterious company that bought the digitizer. The only knowledge that Mark Cheverton graced us with about this thing is that it's called "some mysterious company," and is probably tech-related if the digitizer is anything to go by.
