Would you please help this doll fund its guitar?
this doll is starting a project, one that it's sure those of you who follow it will enjoy the results of!
so, it's been trying to relearn guitar, but unfortunately the size and weight of its current guitar is an obstacle to its consistent practice, and a lot of the sounds it would like to produce aren't easily achievable with it, so this doll is going to be starting a DIY kit for a .strandberg* Boden clone so that it can have a lighter, more compact, electric guitar
the DIY kit is currently priced at about $230, but comes without materials for finishing, which doll imagines will total about $50-$75, and if it can't buy the DIY kit before the sale ends, it'll be about $360. that said, the current goal for tips is $250, which should cover the DIY kit and begin on finishing materials!
you do not have to donate if you are unable/don't want to this is a project doll is saving for and is going to do regardless of tips contributed to it. using Twitch payouts and things, doll is going to eventually buy the DIY kit and finishing materials. it plans on not spending any money from its accounts until it has enough to buy the kit and the majority of its finishing supplies. this tip goal is just an attempt to get there faster than it would otherwise, so don't feel bad for not contributing
"but Quinny, what does this have to do with us?" doll's current setup isn't great, which is why it doesn't really play as often as it would like to. while its guitar is a high end model, it's also second only to a Gibson Les Paul in terms of weight(if you know you know) and bulky to the point that it's uncomfortable for doll to play it while sitting in its chair, and its cable isn't great(that's likely to be addressed this Saturday) so as much as it would like to, it can't very well play it on stream. with a compact lightweight guitar, this won't be nearly as much of an issue, and so doll is planning on having practice segments on its stream, and perhaps once it feels confident enough, full guitar streams!
so, if you'd like to help support this project, please follow either its StreamElements tip link or its Ko-fi link! either one will contribute to the project until it's received tips past the budget, but only the StreamElements link will count the percentage on the stream overlay, and we'll update here whenever materials have been purchased(between the DIY kit, peripherals, and finishing materials)
