I finally caved and watched the first episode of Infinite Gavan (after ignoring it for sentai pouting reasons) and it didn’t hook me in the same way sentai did, or the same way the original Gavan did.

Now I’ve started, I will probably carry on because it’s toku and I want to support the genre as a whole. But I think it’s time for a sentai rewatch, because nothing is going to fill that hole for me.

Also, a small transliteration irk - Gavan is named after French actor Jean Gabin. The Japanese reads “gya-ba-n”. Toei international distributes it as Gabin.
