He said, remembering growing up with so many brothers, it was a lot of brawls and competitions - many of which Mike won in one way or another. "And untold amounts of nieces and nephews….." Mike said with a sigh, he liked kids and all but don’t quite seem too fitting in a military setting. So having them himself stayed far from his mind, he did like visiting the little monsters when he could though.

His attitude changed when Berrick died.

It was always some sort of roulette to see how new recruits would act on their first encounter with a titan. Skill was only helpful to a certain point, without your instincts, you would end up in the mouth of a 10 meter class sooner than you’d wish. 

"Well maybe have you read on the reports of Trost, sir? Or maybe you can dwell on the fact that I'm here, standing before you instead of ashes." Reiner knows that he should be more respectful to the man before him, but it didn't mean that he was going to let anyone attempt to walk over him without some sort of fight. "Also Trost wasn't my first, I came from a village in the southern mountains of Wall Maria." People started to talk amongst themselves at this point, he can pick up on a few of his fellow cadets--the only ones that were told was Eren and Armin back when they were still newly-made trainees.

Erwin fell silent come the other’s words; cerulean examining him with quite pensivity. He was not one to prod, and thus would not dig into those words to gain more information. When Reiner wished to speak to him—or if he did, he would come to Erwin. “Remember what I said about memories. Let them stay close, but do not let them hold you back. That is all the advice I can give.”

With a simple salute, the blond silently left the office to contemplate over several things and hopefully be able to continue without feeling like that he's falling.

"That sounds like a good idea." More than the shifter could think. "I'll come with you just incase." It was better to be safe than sorry as maybe more symptoms will pop up as time continues to pass.

"…You shouldn’t stretch more to make it to anyone’s level. The most important person to compete with is yourself." Mikasa responded quietly, mostly concerned about how it could slow him down at a crucial moment, "If you can get a little further than last time, it’s…a good thing."

"You think so?" It did make sense now that he thought about it and who was he to argue? He had passed on his own amount of advice to others, so the least he can do is consider others as well--especially from one that is the only one to outrank him in grades. "Hm, true. I'll leave all the flexibility to you and others." He was more suited for strength and endurance anyhow.

"Hey it's not lame, it's a plausible excuse with you. At least in regards to the other trainees, the things that some of them said is hilarious." Sleeping with eyes open was just one of many stories going about. "I actually started writing some of it just so I can show you." The blond said, ignoring the last comment as he held up the small notepad.

"S-sir?" For a moment there was a feeling of panic but it quickly went away as the soldier frowned at the insult. "I worked hard to graduate at that rank, what makes you think I'm doing anything less?" A few of the others paled, especially those that dealt with the captain, or had seen his actions in the court room.

"Well, I'm nothing but bulk, flexibility has yet to come naturally to me." He said with a sheepish smile. "Plus, it's not my best suit, I'm more of a brute strength type of person." He paused. "I probably need to stretch more and practice, but I doubt I can make it up to your level."

The raven kept staring at the blond like something was going to pop out of him.
