Also lmao, I'm surprised you remember that bookmark comment! It is also my favorite thing I've said online. In general I was reading many Sonic fics for his 34th anniversary iirc. Was definitely a fun experience, but it also meant a very gay experience and you helped contribute. But I suppose it's slightly fitting for this franchise, lol.
Currently reading your Skeeter AU fic, and I am very in love with it and adore your fankid. Never been the biggest fan of them children type, though I have grown to feel better towards them recently. And yours especially? Very charming and well designed, I fell in love with the kid lol.
Hell yeah! You get it. I just feel that if Emerl got to live, he'd be such a good friend, and mayyybe partner, to Chaos. I think Chaos perhaps would've tried being a relationship with Tikal, and in general it's not like he'd always be alone thanks to her. But I do HC it not working out eventually, and aside from her, Chaos is pretty lonely. Last times he emerged he'd cause "chaos" to everyone around, deserved or not. I can bet he still feels like a monster that doesn't believe many people would like to hang out with.
But that's where Emerl, the best Gizoid bean, could really help out. I mean they look very similar, right? That'd already intrigue both parties into each other, his strength and ability to copy Chaos' moves and techniques I'd imagine would impress, and maybe flatter him quite a bit. Chaos could desire to be friends with him after just a single fight, and with Emerl coming back to fight him again and again because he's also interested in this cool water guy since he's someone who likes to learn new things, and this guy definitely is news in terms of... everything, their bond to me would just grow naturally.
And with Emerl's cheery personality, he'd help Chaos simply cheer up a bit more, and leave his guard down with him. And his jokey/cocky side would help make him laugh and be in good spirits (I HC Chaos laughs by bubbling up a lot and squinting his eyes like the precious bug he is), and makes a great bot to wanna punch in the face in battle. Despite all of that, I can imagine Emerl would tone things a notch and can respect Chaos' boundaries if needed, which I think the god would appreciate it, and kinda would... hit him hard inside. In general he'd really appreciate being with someone who is similar to him, is interested in him, and just likes him for who he truly is.
Emerl could help him get out of his shell. Especially since Emerl doesn't know Chaos' past at all, it helps the water god be able to actually start fresh with someone. Forget the past for once and look forward to the future. I don't think that means he wouldn't open up with the Gizoid though. Despite his lack of speech I think Emerl could manage by simply asking him questions, and teaching him sign language even.
After spars, I like to think they'd hang out in the crater on Holy Summit, and later on to other places in Emerald Town, or even Angel Island! Just communicating, and enjoy the environments together. Maybe a confession or two here and there. Some pin downs... Tentacles popping up.
This has taken a turn so anyone young don't read this part, but anyway, how do they fuck? I have some solutions on that, lol. Emerl can absolutely copy things other than moves. We see throughout Battle's story, he can copy characters' speech, just like a parrot. Chaos Gamma's copied moves also show he can change his robot body parts pretty leisurely.
So... it's not out of the question that he could maybe copy Chaos' water body himself. Or even a... certain appendage of him. Just transform your body and you are entirely the god of destruction's property to do anything with!
To get back with Tikal for a small bit, I like to think Chaos' pretty... sexual, but especially the rough type of guy. And he'd be that a little with Tikal whenever they'd do stuff together. But even with her trying to manage, I'd believe Chaos would eventually get worried for her and stop doing these acts with her altogether. Now everything would on good terms ofc, they'd still stay friends, but I think Chaos would still take it a bit to heart. Feeling like he's not a good fit for her, nor anyone else if he's always just too rough, and chaotic to be with.
Emerl, however, could definitely handle Chaos' sexual desires given his obvious battle durability. Even copy his damn genitals and body straight up, and I'd believe coax the guy's tendencies just a bit~ I think Chaos would... really appreciate all of this as well, hehe.
I'll end this uh... autistic ass long thread about them with talking about how Emerl would benefit from this too. While he's not lonely or troubled like Chaos, I'd say he still hasn't really experienced a normal friendship with anyone in Battle, maybe aside from Knuckles. He'd be someone to train with Sonic, Tails' research, Amy's baby, Rouge's ultimate theif, ect. He never minded any of this ofc, he still loves the main cast.
But I think Chaos would truly be his first... genuine friend? Someone who wouldn't be exclusively interested in him for admittedly selfish reasons. I doubt he'd like Emerl to be the next Master Emerald guardian as an example. He'd just desire companionship with the guy. First friend as well he'd actually seek out himself. With everyone else he was always dragged around with. Sonic can slide for just activating him to begin with though.
I like to think in another universe, one where he did actually live, Chaos would actually be the one to save him instead of Sonic to the Death Egg (I don't trust that blue rat after his massive fumble in canon), and in that context it's easy to imagine his love for the water god would only sky rocket lol.
But enough of this, I almost forgot that I was responding to someone, lol. My bad, I've just had thoughts about the ship for a while. Anyway... thanks for your words at the end Mild! I will do everything I can to make something I love be something others can too! I will make those fanarts and fanfics one day cuz it'd be fun and those would certainly get bigger reach than a screenshot dump admittedly. And ofc I'll take breaks when needed, but at least for now the bug eyes blog is very simple so I don't mind being genuinely daily on it.
