that typical male gaymer experience when you hop into the mass effect trilogy for fun and the first game in the series introduces you to kaidan alenko who you have very undecided feelings for because on one hand he's handsome but on the other hand he doesn't really do or say much and honestly acts like he’s not even that interested in talking to you so you just kind of ignore him but still save him over ashley and then you continue playing me1 halfway through realizing you’ve actually fallen in love with an alien called garrus vakarian so you do a quick google search to confirm if gay romances are available in the trilogy and google says yes so you try your absolute best to not skip a single scene with garrus and you’re being the most supportive best friend ever so you can fulfill your "best friend to lovers" fantasy with him but then you get to me2 with zero progress between mshep and garrus and you start to get impatient so you do a more thorough research on the actual romance mechanics only to learn that garrus is straight and that the gay options for mshep don’t even happen until the third game so you spend the rest of me2 being super frustrated and salty at your boyfriend who won't love you back but then you get to the beginning of me3 and kaidan comes back after being awol for almost the entirety of me2 and you notice some suspicious gay tension between you and kaidan and then he gets hurt and is sent to huerta memorial hospital on the citadel to recover and you go visit him and see him half naked and he starts flirting with you so hard it actually takes you aback so you flirt back just to see where it goes and you spend half the game falling for kaidan and then you finally go on your first date and he confesses his love and it’s in that exact moment you realize you've completely forgotten garrus ever existed and you are now fully prepared to destroy the entire galaxy for your biotic bisexual husband.
