My muse has been having the same nightmare for weeks now and it’s taking it’s toll. Send me “You look exhausted.” for my muse’s response. 

He hadn’t been paying attention at the time. His head had been so preoccupied with trying to forget the nightmares he didn’t stop to think when he broke away from the others.

He was just so tired. He needed to stop, and they needed to keep going. Funny thing was he was sure they probably even didn’t notice he even left.

Not that he really cared. They were all so happy, so cheerful, it pissed him off more than usual. Then again maybe it was because they kept asking him if he was fucking alright.

The answer to their stupid question came in the form of a woman’s voice, not behind his back but right in front of his face. In a knee jerk reaction, he went for his gun, only to end up dropping it like an idiot.

She shot him a look when he stole a bite of her food, an her shoulders slumped when he said that they had to go back out there. She wasn’t very good at small talk in general, but rich people and Justice League members were especially awful to socialize with. One more than the other, seeing as some of the Justice League members weren’t too bad. Rich people were so boring. In her experience, when someone had money, they seemed to forget about everything else. That made them terrible to have conversation with. She always felt like they were judging her, and she was tried of hearing about people’s yachts.

Despite wanting to stay hidden, she knew he was right. She couldn’t hide forever, and honestly his plan sounded pretty full proof. It was a good plan. If it worked, it would get them both out of their with minimal suspicion. 

“Alright fine, but we’re gone as soon as possible.” She sighed once more, before standing up. “Let’s go dread the longest twenty minutes of our lives.”

Okay, maybe he had an awful perspective but damn it if he wasn’t proud of her right then. Joining her he rubbed her head just hard enough to make it look messier than those rich assholes would have liked. 

“Just don’t punch someone.” He teased. “And make it a good show before I get us kicked out.”

In all honestly with how Drake speaks of him she wasn’t expecting him to be so civil. Which must mean his holding back, for why was beyond her. Not that she was really complaining. ❝ Raven. ❞ She took another drink of tea.

“Well, then it looks like both of us were left out.”  He was already getting the bad feeling that this wasn’t going to be one of those get in get out things. Not like Bruce ever actually tried to get a hold of him otherwise.

“Well as much as I’d like to let you hide in here, we both have to get our sorry asses out there.” He commented stabbing a chunk of food from her plate and shoving it in his mouth. After swallowing he shrugged, “those are friends of the family. Meaning they are fucking rich, part of the Justice League, or both.”

And for some reason, Dick and Tim, of ALL people, thought it was a good idea to force the two of them to come. But he could save that for when there weren’t possibly easily offended bystanders. “Listen, just smile and try playing sick for ten, maybe twenty minutes. Then look like your running to go throw up, I take you home and that’s it.”
