Ooooh, fun question! It's gonna be hard to narrow it down to ten, but I'll give it a shot!

Well... here's ten. I can't promise they're actually my favorites, but I do like these. There were a lot I cut and I know I didn't look at every single hug in the series before picking these.

When I was a teenager writing fic, I remember finding out that one of my favorite authors was in her 50s and that just was SUCH a revelation for me!! What do you mean, 50 year olds can write fanfic?!? Does that mean I can write fics when I'm her age?? That's AWESOME! I seriously looked up to her so much. And now I'm 35 with a husband and kid, and I'm still writing fanfic and posting fandom content - and I have no plans of stopping!

I don’t want to sound like I am hating on younger people in fandom, but god, y’all need to stop it with the ageism. You don’t have to give up what you love once you’re an adult. Honestly, the belief that you have to is pretty bad. It sounds like it would make people afraid of aging. Granted, modern society is so very afraid of aging.

Gaming is more accepted for grown adults due to youtubers and streamers and loads of gaming tournaments. Sure there will be some nasty cunt using the "your too old to do this" or "gaming is for kids" but definitely a lot less than it used to be.

And so many other examples like comics and comic con or Coldplay and conventions. (Ofc they still do get the "your to old for this" BS but it's probably a lot less worse due to youtubers and streamers and the Internet making to more normal to see or hear about).

But Fanfiction? As soon as your over 19 the idea of writing stories for canon and noncanon characters as a grown adult is suddenly too far?!!!.

Never mind that 90% of media that these people love and consume are written by grown ass adults and inspired by other media also created by grown ass adults. Most of these media are also created by people who grew up loving it and still enjoy watching and creating for it.

The idea that there needs to be an expiration date on how long you should enjoy something needs to be stopped. This genuine BS mindset is what caused me to have a breakdown on my 17th and 18th birthday. My autistic ass was already struggling to accept I'm becoming an adult soon and my mistakes would be scrutinised more and hold a lot more weight. That relationships can get more difficult to understand and hold on to due to people focusing on their jobs, families or life. That change is normal part of life and watching the world move on whilst I was stuck in the past was frightening.

Then, seeing people make fun of and look down on adults who wanted to keep their intrestes and remain being a part of fandoms didn't fucking help.

I feel like op anon is just a Scared teen or adult who has been fed this mindset from twitter or other social media platforms and is either fearing the day they became an adult having to give up their love and passion for fandoms and media they adore. Or their an adult who was fed this mindset for years and seeing adults continue to enjoy media and fandoms no matter what people say makes them mourn that they could of did that.

Their either a kid just taking it out on adults to make themselves actually believe and give into this BS mindset so they can follow what society wants them to do. Or an adult taking it out on other adults who wasn't fed this BS mindset and still do things they feel passion for and about whilst ignoring society telling them to "grow up" and "act their age".
